Well plastic shares are gonna crash for a start. I just hope they dont cremate him, global warming is bad enough as it is, apparently. I say recycle him, make carrier bags for the local supermarket. I bet we start seeing a lot more of Latoya now that he doesn't have to pretend to be both.

Now to be serious, i dont think he molested children, sure he loved kids, just not like that. I reckon he settled out of court to try and avoid a media circus, or the hassle. I must admit, i nearly wet myself before watching BBC news 24, they were interviewing one of his friends and the guy said "Michael touched a lot of people, especially children", oh god i howled with laughter.

My strage point is, before anyone jumps down my throat, its easy to laugh about this sort of stuff when its not close to home, but the fact is, he was a man, with family and children, and regardless of anything else, think how they must feel now, 50 years old and gone, just like that. Despite my jokes, i admitt i feel strangely saddened and shocked by his untimely death and my heart goes out to his family, RIP Mr Jackson.

I send prayers of love to those who feel is it their duty to post hatred in this thread. A great man has died today, yet there are people on ATS who have decided to bring hate into their hearts and share it with others.

Deny Ignorance, yes, please do so! But to be 'open minded' is not to be inhuman and without compassion and love.

As my grandmother says, it comes in threes. First Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett, and now Michael. Maybe he will finally sell some records again.

I whole heartedly agree with you.
Michael Jackson was a benevolent soul who's charitable contributions to those less fortunate often went overlooked during his career. Let's Stop the Hate

You'd know what'd be amazing? If he wasn't dead. Hey, this is a conspiracy site after all isn't? What if...

what if! What if MJ didn't die? What if he staged this in order to be his own self and live in a world with no publicity. Who knows where he is now...maybe a secluded island?

...However...he can't really hide from anyone can he? With that fake nose and all. I mean, he does have a distinct look to him...

Someone should make a .gif of him moonwalking into a casket.

You and others like you should reexamine what humour is, what it means. Laugh at a chimpanzee and he will interpret it as agression (and since those guys are several times stronger than a human you don't want one angry at you). Why do you laugh at the death of a man who was so obviously wronged on several counts regarding his physical appearance, because he had an illness and quite possibly regarding his sexual preference (which from an interview with Lisa Marie Presley seems to be non existant). He was a child caught in a mans body, and certainly a flawed individual. Perhaps, just perhaps there is some truth to the child molestations, although I don't think so.

But he died today and he was a man of very high talent. It's not that his death is above anyone else's and I'm not crying. I'm just shocked at the calous and inhuman behaviour of several of the people posting here. Perhaps in my stupid past I've said dumb things. But I don't remember insisting on slandering the memory of one so obviously talented as some of you are doing here based on what is in reality a rumour. Yes, his pedophilia was a rumour, although he was dumb holding his child out the window of a hotel, I'll admit that much.

Perhaps some of the people spreading the hate are just some more psychos. People who don't feel attachment to anything. Perhaps hatred is just their way of trying to feel anything at all? Or perhaps it's TPTB's disinfo minions, trying to keep the sheep from herding around a love figure, someone who could inspire joy and love instead of shame and fear? John Lennon, Martin Luther King, Ghandi all over again.

I don't know, I just feel that when such things are said you guys come off as demons, not people.

I really need to teach myself to ignore the trollage.

Peace.

There are three different Michael Jacksons that the world has known and will ever know. The first one was the extremely talented and adorable child from the Jackson Five. The talent even at such a young age. I think we all knew then he had a future etched in stone without a doubt. Then there's the Michael Jackson the world will remember him best, the Icon of the 80's that always comes to mind when we think of Jackson himself as well as the 80's. He was the successor to Elvis, which ironically he was in a relationship with his daughter, and had a tragic end to their lives. But the adorable child with a future, grew up to be a handsome, generation altering phenomenon that surpassed everyones expectations. Then there was the Michael Jackson that the world today knows of and unfortunately how the younger kids that didn't remember him his prime because they were to young or weren't born yet only know the freak that he was to become, not the legend that he created.

RIP Michael Jackson
RIP Farrah Fawcett

I think most of us try to put the freak Michael Jackson as someone else, and only think of the young kid of the Jackson Five and the superstar before his alterations. I would rather remember him this way, somewhere along the lines he fell from that, but I think young Michael will always be remembered. I never focus on what anyone does in their personal life, Jackson included, but I would rather focus on the art that he had given us. I didn't know him at all, but his music played a role for me growing up. It's amazing how a lot of iconic people have been passing lately. Bernie Mac, Issac Hayes, Ricardo Montalban (Khan from Star Trek), Natasha Richardson, Dom DeLuise, David Carradine, Ed Mcmahon, Farrah Fawcett and now Michael Jackson.

Farrah was bad enough today, because I was among the countless who worshipped her famous poster, and then when I saw on the Latimes.com that Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital for not breathing, I had a feeling that he wasn't going to make it just because of the vagueness of the article. It had said that he wasn't breathing and that he was taken to the hospital, but no word on the CPR being successful. This is a sad day in pop culture and for the world. Like him or hate him, Michael Jackson sure left his mark on the world for many years to come.

I never cared for the guy, I think he's a creep and the World is better off without him.

Sorry if this post is mean and insensitive.

I don't get the psychology of some of you guys. Similarly to the people that say "He molests children, they're safe now". Honestly, if you're going to say the world is better off without him, you better apply that same thought to yourself, its only fair. Everyone is guilty of something in life. Or people that say "I'm glad he's dead", its funny since these people themselves don't want to die. I just find that funny. They talk about death like its nothing, yet if they knew they were dieing in an hour or so, they'd be panicking more than likely.

I can't believe that this event has eclipsed all other news in the world.

I can think of no one in the world who is less important than Michael Jackson.

My heart goes out to his family and friends in this time of their loss. This is a personal tragedy for them.

However, life is going on in N. Korea, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and your home town, except that now the real news of our time, the struggles for life and liberty, has been preempted for morbid and maudlin entertainment.

[edit on 2009/6/25 by GradyPhilpott]

You can think of no-one less important? Why are people even discussing something as trivial as the passing of Michael Jackson?

Well, why were Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Buddy Holly and Richie Valens such hot button topics at the time of their unfortunate passings?

Heck, Presley, Lennon, Holly and Valens are still spoken about to this very day.

When figures are in the public eye, people feel as though they identify with them or feel as though they knew them on some special level even if it wasn't personally.

That is just the way most human beings are.

The 2009 Oscars in Memoriam has some very big names on it. Charlton Heston, Paul Newman to add to some you've listed. As well as a few others. Some were good people, some were bad. All of them were part of the group mind, of human culture. And all will be remembered.

Of course the famous aren't more than the rest of us. Of course they don't add up to the horrors of war, of course they don't compare to the genocide going on because of eugenics. Of course they can't measure up to the brutality of famine, so unecessary in such a plentiful world. But they're still there to be mourned as any human should be. And the loss of their art spikes the loss.

The big difference between people is not between the rich and the poor and the good and the evil, cause the biggest of all differences between people is between those that have had pleasure in love and those that haven't.

Paul Newman in Sweet Bird of Youth (1962)

Slightly off topic but I had to throw this in the mix.

Finally, in the first two paragraphs of your post, you are posting something worth reading. Towards the end, however, the post becomes rather tasteless.

Although I mourn the death of Michael Jackson, the conspiracy theorist in me is thinking something akin to: "Maybe the greys made MJ's avatar fake his own death so that he could become a martyr and people would start a new religion around him and his life. Since MJ spoke alot about 'saving the children', and modern society has quite obviously forgotten the poor lil things exist, maybe this event is to bring about a new global paradigm centered around MJ's infinite love and compassion for children." It's sad that people care so much about a celebrity. But when a genocide happens in some unknown country, we refuse to give a damn.

Guys, he was a celebrity. What's gonna happen when Brittney Spears dies? God..

I had more faith in this website.

Leave this thread if you don't like it, simple. Who is "we"? You're generalizing. I am a music lover, and as such MJ was very important for a lot of people. He influenced so many artists and people, and you think we should ignore him? We can still care about him and the rest of the world as well.

A great man has died today, .

Many 'great men' died today all around the world. But I'll leave it up to God to decide if Michael Jackson was one of them or not.

His life - from beginning to end and everything in between - was tragic.
Bad things happened to him, and bad things happened because of him.

I'll leave it to God to decide if he's 'great' or not.
