Michael Jackson has been rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack, according to website TMZ.

Sky News: First For Breaking News

The singer's father, Joe, has told TMZ website he is "not doing well".

Jackson is believed to have been given CPR in the ambulance on the way to the Los Angeles hospital.

He was picked up at his home and his mother is on the way to visit him, TMZ said.

The 911 call came in at 8.21pm from his Holmbly Hills home in LA, according to the website.

Just breaking in the UK ...

Sorry to hear this news. Although not my favourite celebrity he's brought pleasure to many millions around the world over the last 30-40 years. Fire Dept staff on a 911 call have seemingly administered CPR after finding him not breathing at his home.

Sounds bad ...

Just waiting for more news

Wait a minute, MJ is in the United States? I thought he had pretty much exiled himself from the US so he could live where age laws are more lenient/nonexistent.

Just my 2-cents

Yeah, I was surprised to read that too. I guess the claim that he had moved out of USA was just more nonsense from the Media- as usual.

I hope he pulls through.

he's commited to 50 gigs in the UK, but has postponed the start of them, a couple of days ago more dates were added.

Maybe the pressure got to him?

Wow...

If this is for real I have no problem admitting that I will be a bit affected should the worst happen, which I most certainly hope it doesn't.

I've never had any qualms about admitting to other people that I've always loved his music regardless of the controversy that surrounds him.

I'm having a flashback right now of dancing to "Beat It" in my living room. My friends and I would close my blinds, turn off the light and play "Thriller" so freak ourselves out. I would beg for it to be turned off once Vincent Price started talking.

Whatever Michael Jackson may or may not have done should never take away from the fact that he changed music substantially and has definitely made permanent impression on some people's lives because hearing his songs brings back certain memories.

I'm pulling for him....

edit:

Whoa...wait...what??? After I posted I just saw that he died?? Holy cow...

Oh dear, what a terrible shame he's passed over.

A bit more from TMZ ...

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50. Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back. Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II. Jackson had 13 number one hits during his solo career.
