It did - it said "Find the buried treasure" and was encoded through four different barcode formats

Thanks for answering my questions, and I want to say I enjoyed the whole thing thoroughly. I hope you don't catch too much heat for "fear-mongering", I'm sure there are plenty who would like to rake you over the coals.

No I did not make the MI5 call (either of them) and, yes, I was reading the forums.

This was the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

It's not a good idea to try to portray events where millions of people could die just for fun.

@ Valente (JW)

Even though I and seemingly a majority of contributers to the ATS, GLP, and DI forums were not personally distressed by this elaborate 'game', I do believe that at least a few people both on and off the forums were. To create this whole thing was completely unnecessary, deceitful, borderline illegal, counterproductive, and honestly not all that entertaining. I don't regret spending time on your game, because I enjoy puzzles, but at the same time the whole concept disgusts me. You did this for your own personal pleasure and since it affected others, that is wrong. Hopefully your 'story' tomorrow somehow awakens half the world so the game wasn't in vain, but I seriously doubt that will happen.

I think size_of_light at the david icke forum said it best:

It happens in movies, games, comic books, and novels every day.

This is a good post on the David Icke forum: www.davidicke.com...

Especially when the death is caused by terrorist attacks/government plotting that we're all a little bit paraz about in the first place.

Honestly I could spit in this guy's face.

But there aren't hidden messages leading to websites (at least not in any regular movies). Remember, on AboveTopSecret most of us believe these events are actually going to happen at some point (North American Union, collapse of the dollar, New World Order, etc.). After all this is a conspiracy theory website.

I'd like to point out the fact that foreshadowing a terrorist attack and portraying a fictional terrorist attack through art are two completely different things.

The first thing they stated was "fictional". Porn is art, sick people call depictions of murder art, racism, anything under the sun can be seen as art. At least they gave the DISCLAIMER right off the bat.

I have 2 points, and thats all I will say during my lurkfest following this...

1) People should be glad JW came clean, and will publish a story tomorrow. Imagine the frenzy people would be in if they didn't. How many conspiracy authors, guest speakers, supporters, and the like make a living telling things exactly like this...tall tales, lies...just feeding off fear. Imagine if they had let it be...new conspiracies would arise where the "math is off, it is really 2010" something experience with failed conspiracies all the time. How many people would have profited off this story, or just continued to add...bringing "secret informants" or "my uncle works at telegraph, and they killed the original author of this and it's coming!!" It's endless

sorry for the run on paragraph...

2) Other point...how did people NOT see this coming. It was a classic telegraphed viral story. After the videos showed up then pushed on youtube, the magic coded (NOT DIFFICULT) messages on a random poorly designed site, with hidden easter eggs. C'mon....if and when something like this happened, the information would NOT be presented via the "perfect viral storm". This was a conspiracy followers dream come true...and everyone ate it up. When you guys want some truth to some conspiracy...this is not how it will be presented to you at all. I honestly thought this was some viral marketing for the proxy web server company.

That was my point, I'm saying this wasn't "foreshadowing" of any kind because the disclaimer was there in the beginning and never left.

Someone else made a similar post a few pages back to the one I'm going to make. If I spray painted a bomb on a wall, then spray painted, "I'm going to blow everyone up!", then underneath it painted, "No, I'm just kidding; it's fiction.", I would be in a small room for 36 hours straight being questioned.

But nobody said they were going to blow anything up. It's not a crime to post badly Photoshopped pictures of a fictional bomb exploding, especially when it says "this is just fiction" under it.

Sure, it's fine when it stays within the slideshow, comic, movie, whatever but when it goes further and involves real locations and events, it's scary.

On the same note, I don't believe anywhere in the fictional information we received did THEY say they were setting off nukes on anyone.

Take a look on these boards and read some books...people make these doomsday claims of insider knowledge everyday. Everyone from our OWN government, to your everyday whistleblowers.

They never said they were going to do anything, no, but the countdown timers and (albeit photoshopped) pictures of trucks that were said to have bombs were unsettling.

Understandable, but you have to look at it as a whole package deal. JB12 was just an accompanying part of the slideshow.
