BEIJING, June 10 (AP) - (Kyodo)—North Korean media said Wednesday that a U.S. pledge to extend its nuclear umbrella to Japan and South Korea due to military threats from Pyongyang would consist of a declaration of nuclear war.
The commentary by the Rodong Sinmun, a newspaper of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea, was the latest in what is becoming increasingly frequent criticism against the U.S. nuclear umbrella covering Washington's allies in Asia.
