I just post what I know, what I think, and comment when I see what I consider misinformation. I try to do it civilly and informatively.

I don't start threads often. A lot of what I say often conflicts with some commonly held views, opinions, and prejudices. So I don't get stars and flags but keep accumulating points. And a few people consider me fellow travellers.

I don't feel I'm in a contest. Just trying to learn and pass on what I know.
I'm not really clear what the rewards of all this are on the Earthly sphere.
But if anyone cares to tell me, it would genuinely be appreciated.

Agreed, but that is what happens when you get such a large group of people together. You will have disagreements and such. But what can you do? But,yes I can understand how annoying it must be for you all (staff members)

You got me, I don't read the T&C.

I personally never use those blockers simply because I run alot of websites etc, so I understand it's how they pay for things. So I never block ads and stuff on websites etc.

I'd rather look at a few ads here and there than have a website I enjoy go under etc. I'll even click on them if it's something I'm remotely interested in just to send them a few cents.

But I suppose if 90% of their traffic is for non-users, it's not that big of a deal. I never create new threads, so I don't think I'll ever be getting into that 200/200/200 club.

Gathering flags, reaching for stars, and the ultimate being a 250/250/250.

If I weren't an ATS member that would sound really strange.

Do we get a consolation reward like maybe smaller banner ads for having two of the three 250s?

So is the difference between the new flag count display in one's public profile and the old flag count display in one's profile the amount of times you have flagged your own threads? Not that it really matters, but the numbers do not match... At least in mine... And anymore if I can't bring a thread here I feel is worthy of my own flag, I really don't bother with it.

P.S. I had a hunch someone somewhere was countin those stars...

Sincere apologies to the staff, entirely my bad. Tired and grumpy and really fed-up of the flashing "click-here to win" ads.

I like the idea, it's true, but I personally feel the Flags one is a bit difficult to achieve. Not being one to post threads all the time, or if I do, they generally aren't sensationalist to the degree of getting a lot of flags.

If I posted on the other side of the fence, as it were, on the pro "everything was done by George Bush on 9/11", and "OMG Yellowstone's gonna blow we're all gonna die!", then I might have more. This is what bothers me a bit about the flag system in general, as a way of bringing things to the eye of the site, posting about things being fine just doesn't do well.

Personally, I'd have thought Applauses should be there instead.

Ultimately though, I do think the reward is a good one. I just don't like the objectives.

I wouldn't consider 7321 stars and 170 applauses low (it would be interesting to have that information in the members list, besides the posts), but you need some flags to enter the "ATS Bilderberg".
