Well its like i said before!
To you this will only seam like a personal opinion. Because you dont have what it takes to know yet.

Quite an escape hatch you have there.

I know about old legends like Thor, Medusa, Cesar and so on, all wanting to be Gods.

But even i can see the problem here as you do. I don't say that i worship any of them do i?

Where do you get that impression from?

You don't believe in the Old Gods because they're just myths. You don't believe in them, you're atheistic about them. But YOUR god is real, true and important. Now do you see the problem?

I understand where your trying to go with all this. And i also understand why.

Now the problem is which is only a myth and which could be a fact.

To me God is just a name given to a source. What is the source that is God. You have to see past the names to understand what i am trying to get at.

You believe in "something". What that something is, that's hard to put in words because it's more than words can state.

See, I know what you're getting at. It's just no different than believing in Zeus.

Yes the first part you have right.

But i don't compare my believes to believing in Zeus. That is what i am trying to point out.

This is Zeus. In the image of a man.Zeus was the child of Cronus and Rhea. Making him a man.

That's whats so wrong about the whole picture. The whole family tree of Zeus are Gods according to the Greek myths.

God made us in his image. God didn't make himself in our image like Zeus for eksample.

A image is more then a picture.

I know what Zeus looks like, I've had classes in comparative mythology.

What I'M saying is that what you believe is different only in labels from any other religion. Supernatural beings that have some mystical power over us?

No I dont believe in supernatural humans depicted as Gods.

That's why i am telling you that God is just a name of a source and not the name of a human, planet, star or a fish.
That's why i am telling you that God created us in his image and not the other way around. Because that's what humans have done. Humans have made their own images into Gods. Like the family tree of Zeus for example.

People with power or royalty would want people to worship them as Gods.

Or as a person close to The God.

I didn't say "supernatural humans." More read, less fail.

"That's why i am telling you that God created us in his image and not the other way around. "

"God" is the supernatural being in your philosophy, then. And he's mythical in mine. If you want to prove your god exists I'll be around.

I dont know how many times i have to tell you this before it sinks in. But I DONT BELIEVE IN GOD AS A SUPERNATURAL BEING.

I THINK OF GOD AS A SOURCE OTHER THAN A BEING.

And what, pray tell, is the difference from what you said and what I said. I think you think I don't understand, but I think you think wrong. I think.

Anyway, got proof of your whatchamacallit?

You're right. I'm wrong.
You're wrong. I'm right.
We're both wrong.
We're both right.
We're both right AND wrong.
We're both a little bit right . . .

Well, you get the picture. Nobody knows, but so many people claim to know. And those are the ones that I like best.

Ive always wondered if the God concept has evolved from "the man in the Moon"?
We all can liken the shadow patterns of the Seas (plains) on the moon to resemble a face. When primitive man viewed this; and made the comparison, was this transmitted into "the face of God", or a greater entity overseeing the deeds of man?
But again recapitulating on the original question- I don't think the Atheists really care about religion, if anything they probably find the debate tiresome , and yet, enjoy the opposing banter. Much to the dismay of the zealous, whom probably see it as their patronizing duty- to do their "personal work" in order to convert the "misguided".

Dumbest thing said in the last few pages. You denounce Zeus because he is of Greek mythology, but god is just Abrahamic mythology. Your belief in god is the exact same kind of faith that people had in Zeus. And then you say this.

God made us in his image. God didn't make himself in our image like Zeus for eksample.

Your assertion is that God made us in his image.... On what grounds do you make this statement? None.

"That which is claimed with no reason, can be denied for no reason."

Well there wasn't an original question, it was a statement, but you are on the ball with this point.

Correct me (as you most probably will), but if a sentence is finalized with a question mark- is that not a question:puz
lease refer to your original posts' opening lines!

A god is what you make to be a God. People worship a nameless, faceless entity, Jesus Christ, Others worship Allah, which is the Arabic word for the same god. Others still worship Brahman, they've worshipped Zeus, Athena, Apollo, Dagon, Ra, Isis, Amaterasu, and countless others. A God is what you make to be a God.

So in that sense, a creationist and an atheist are both right, and both wrong. They're both right because they follow their beliefs, a Christian worships 'The Great Sky Fairy', while an Atheist worships no god. They're wrong because to an Atheist, the god that a Christian believes in doesn't exist, the Atheist is wrong because the god that he doesn't believe in exists to a Christian.

In my random burst of inspiration, I feel that I've made something known. Thank you.
