I had written half a dialogue when I wanted to confirm what someone else had posted - I went back to "myats" and clicked on the thread again, thinking another window would pop open, instead it took my page and opened it!

Yeah this has happened to me a few times. I now usually use more than one tab on my browser. One to fact check the thread and one to write my post.

But I still mess up sometimes

As for saving, I don't think it can be done in the browser but you could copy paste to a word processor....But you probably already know that.

Having had this issue with other threads and my ramblings erased into the ATS ether, I always write in word & copy and paste.

Just how this alien rolls.

I ALWAYS type everything into notepad, BB Code and all. Then, when it's ready to go, I just copy/paste it in and hit 'post'

Never lose anything that way.

I use Mozilla Firefox and open them in separate tabs, so I can switch back and forth. The newest version of Internet Explorer also has a "tabbed" interface, allowing the same thing. If you're using Windows as an operating system, that's probably an option.

Also, I occaisionally "copy" what I've typed to the clipboard, so that it's already in memory, ready to paste wherever.

I write for the most part in word and the do several minor edits (formatting and selected word choice changes) in the thread pane. Then I periodically copy and past between the two, until I'm done.

It's a laborious process for me, but I tend to write with a million distractions, so my approach may not be the most efficient, but it works for me.

Hi everyone,

I sent a u2u to my Captain and to Masqua, just saying im going to take a "time out" for a while.

Now we are back on Earth, my Captain is going reassign / transfer me to another ship or mission. The pace here is fast / intense and at the moment I just dont have the time to be involved.

As I said to my Captain (via u2u) its not fair to other writers to keep my character in the story if im not posting.

Its been great and I will return (at some point lol) but for now thats it for me.
