Semper, your getting a lesson in detail here. You see you were the one who said history, not me.

So, modern times doesnt mean ever, but your statement of " lowest in history " does. Your statement means it was the absolute lowest.

You cannot accurately make that claim and substantiate a 100% figure. You can say they are wrong on most matters, or appear to be wrong, but when you make an absolute statement like that, its not prudent logic.
Especially considering that you were in error above.

Its wrong thinking that allows things like the KKK, Abu Ghraib, and torture at GITMO along with people being held without charge. Its ethical thinking, and a properly tuned moral compass that tells us that those things were, are, and ever will be wrong.

When you THINK, do so wisely and without bias. Not doing so, merely
obfuscates the truth. Telling the truth, is not a tactic. Engaging in a discussion about achieving a more perfect truth or stating an absolute fact
is what this site is about.

First let me say I agree 100%

Now back to arguing..

You see you were the one who said history, not me.

Please see where I admitted I was wrong.. I'm a Conservative, I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.

You cannot accurately make that claim and substantiate a 100% figure.

I have no need to substantiate that.. For the UMPTEENTH time, I said.. I THINK..

I made it Blink last time, surely you did not miss it..

And I still THINK that..

KKK, Abu Ghraib, and torture at GITMO

I have no idea where the KKK reference is from or for, but I have no problem with Abu Ghraib and GitMo... Closing them is the one biggest Bone Head move the left has done int he history of bleeding hearts world wide. And it will bite us and I will again, just like in 06, say....

I told you so...

You guys make it so easy

Telling the truth, is not a tactic

I believe if you will peruse my past posts, you will discover where I have pointed out several "Falsehoods" (Trying to be nice) in regards to what I have posted. Very clear and very false...

Thanks

Semper, parsing the statement to create your own version of what I said appears to be a signature of yours. But Ill requote what I said for the sake of clarity.

When I say its not a tactic, to spell it out a little more simply for you, it means " equal to " an absolute. You cant fight fight the truth. See what I mean?
If you want to try and make a tactic around fighting the truth, anything other then the truth is known as a lie or deception.

I was wondering when the Ad Hominem attacks would begin... I am glad I was not disappointed.

Lets go after the "Ball" and not the "Player" shall we?

anything other then the truth is known as a lie or deception.

I don't believe "Your" version or more accurately the Liberal Version of the truth. I shall stand up against what I think is a lie.

In history, liberal and conservative, democract and republican alike have been guilty of twisting the truth to their own needs which is a lie.

Agreed.. All Politicians are corrupt, but Rush is NOT a politician, he is a private citizen and should be allowed to exercise his First Amendment Rights all he wants too without having his name bastardizing like a school child. I thought the Libs were all about Freedom and our Rights? Apparently I was wrong.

history has shown that nations perish. They plunge into war and injustice, bloodshed and hate. Anger an oppression, which tears from within and seeks discord on every front.

When any nation becomes so Liberal that the population realizes they can vote themselves money from the state, ie.. now.. The downfall of that nation is eminent.

(Clarification... When Liberals get enough power, they create a central government that caters to those that WONT instead of a small government that caters to those that WILL and DO.. Eventually those that WILL and those that DO stop "doing" because all of their hard work is going to the lazy WONTs)

that GITMO, and the holding of people for years with no charges is wrong, or the practices at Abu garib were deplorable, its a very sad day in America.

All wars have "Prisoners of War".. It's not pretty, but it is a fact of life..

As for holding prisoners for years without charges, this is not a new thing,... WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam.. etc...

When I went to SERE School, one of the things they drilled into us was if you get caught and can't escape, you are a prisoner of war. The people being held? Sorry for their luck, but I am glad they are there and when Obama releases them, he should be charged with Treason.

Peace

Peace to you my friend..

But the way I enjoy peace, is to prepare for war..

And the most Appropriate

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Two can play that game:

"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent."
-- Mohandas K. Gandhi

"Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind...War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today."
-- John F. Kennedy

"War is as outmoded as cannibalism, chattel slavery, blood-feuds, and dueling, an insult to God and humanity...a daily crucifixion of Christ."

"There was never a good war or a bad peace." --Benjamin Franklin

"War would end if the dead could return." --Stanley Baldwin

"In peace sons bury fathers, but war violates the order of nature, and fathers bury sons." - Herodotus

"If the human race wishes to have a prolonged and indefinite period of material prosperity, they have only got to behave in a peaceful and helpful way toward one another."
-- Winston Churchill

"I prefer the most unfair peace to the most righteous war."
-- Cicero.

"War is cruelty and you cannot refine it."

"Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime"
--Ernest Hemingway

Or as General Sherman put it

War is hell

War is always evil and it is always obscene.

But war is not the subject of this thread. I was just objecting to your absurd comment about enjoying peace by preparing for war.

I agree...just like those who applaud

Alex Jones, Obama, Air America, etc....

Yeah, I mostly hate the way that Air America has been 100% honest in the way it represents itself and the news it reports. Why can't they lie like Rush and Hannity do all the time, then they would be cool right? Say all you like about Jones, Obama, whatever, but hating Air America is just right wing hatred for no reason. Listen to the channel, tell me what they said that is a lie, wrong, or just so horrible for whatever reason in your head.

As long as one side thinks the other is ignorant, greedy and bigoted... etc.
As long as the other side thinks their opponents are traitors and hate America... etc.

There can be no rapprochement... no dialogue... no understanding and the nation will suffer.

Why was it absurd?

Because YOU disagree with it?

Sorry, I don't follow your "teachings" I would MUCH rather listen to Rush.

And YOU know somewhat of my past Grover as we have chatted before. Ever since the schoolyard kick of name calling, I have resisted replying to your posts, but YOU know how connected I am to the Men and Women that are fighting for me over there. YOU know how it hurts me each and every day when one dies.

But it hurts worse to watch this once Great Nation being torn apart from within by Socialism and attacks on private citizens. So I do enjoy my peace, by preparing for war. For I fear a war is coming, as I will not, nor will many like me, stand idly by while the Nation is given over to the weak willed, leftist pacifists that try and silence every voice and destroy the Constitution one Amendment at a time.

But don't you understand...

It is this type of rhetoric I was talking about.
It is this type of rhetoric that makes dialogue impossible.
It is this type of rhetoric that divides the country.
It is this type of rhetoric that must stop if we are to move forward.

AND... it is this type of rhetoric that rush limbaugh has built a career on which is why I hold him and all of those like him in contempt.

Perhaps some have..

But I have not Grover...

Because some Conservative gets childish and plays juvenile games, do you think that makes it right for you to?

I would simply like to point out that doing so and calling anyone else small minded is fairly hypocritical..

Semper

well isnt this calling the kettel black.. its ok for rush to talk crap then is called freedom of speach, but when the shoe is on the other foot, they call foul and whine that its childish and what right do u have to say that.. hypocate

Loving America isn't all about swaggering around and grabbing your gonads and being all macho about it Semper...

... That what bush minor was like... you could just look at him and tell he kept his a-hole clinched way too tight...

... You can love America by caring for it and its people... wanting her to do what is right, not just for itself but for the world (we are after all part of) and other people... we can strive mightily for peace and keep violence as the last resort... we can care for the poor and disenfranchised not just the wealthy or as bush minor infamously phrased it... the haves and the have mores...

... we can care for the environment as something precious (after all its the only place we have) not just as something to make a buck from...

We can care for justice not just the law.

... there are so many ways to be a good citizen of both America and the world yet you refer us who believe this way as patsy's and traitors and that we are socialists and hate America and are weak...

... Semper my friend... that attitude is wrong in so many ways that words actually fail me.

WHY DO PEOPLE LISTEN TO....'Rush Limbaugh????

Well....On the road, in various parts of the Country....you can sometimes only get AM Radio.....

AM, or 'Amplitude Modificatiion' radio tends to propogate, depending on atmospheric conditions....much better that 'FM'....which relies on 'line-of-sight' in its transmission areas....

My point here is....IF you only get your 'news' from AM Radio,, then it's as if you are only reading the 'funny papers' every Sunday! AND thinking that is what's going on in the World.

For those who actually have Cable, or DISH satellite feeds....well, if you believe everything 'Rush Limbaugh' has to say, theh you aren't paying attention.

Might as well listen to Ann Coulter....she is a freakin' nutjob!!!!

Rush quotes from 3/24 The reason we listen.........

"The war on Obama is the war on ignorance, and I'm telling you, ignorance is the most expensive commodity that we have in this country."

"We don't have a Constitution anymore. Do you realize that if they can just singularly disregard the Constitution with this 90% retroactive tax on bonus payments, they can discard the Constitution anytime they want?"

"The Obama administration gets to make taxes high, they get to make regulations impossible, they get to make unions strong, and then when your company fails, they can go in and seize it. They're raising the odds against success with every passing day."

"What the ignorant do when they don't have their demands realized is they get on buses and start harassing executives in Connecticut with the full sponsorship of an organization bought and paid for and groomed by President Obama: ACORN."

"Our opposition to Obama is indeed based on N-O! We say no to socialism! What's negative about that?"
