Chat Is Offline Due To Stoner Idiots

It doesn't bother me either way. Everyone here should be a mature adult and ignore what they dont want to hear...Removing a topic from a chat is impossible to do. Plus you get new members who don't know the rules and since its so easy to register, you probably have people creating multiple accounts for fun.

Honestly, I'd suggest putting in a filter...This way you can block out keywords that pop up. I'd also suggest making people accept the terms of use before entering chat. Removing the chat system based on your frustration isn't getting you or anyone here anywhere. I'm sure certain people are frustrated at that and we already know you are. Put the responsibility on the people and allow people in the chat to moderate it. Have a alert or report button. Be sensible about this my friend...You can solve your problems rather than blowing them out of proportion and just getting upset. Out of the few hundreds probably of stoner fools, there are thousands of good people in there. I suggest you think about that. Its not fair to punish all for some.

NOTE; I am on ATS everyday, it provides me with a lot of information from Very insightful people who have given me a third way to look at things(since I always look at it from both sides). I have gotten to know some people on here who are a lil too smart for their own good and they dont even know it.
Now with all this BS going on, all you are doing is driving these very intelligent people away. Afterall, you dont want people looking at this site like they do of Fox News.

How many times have I warned you in chat about violating the T&C? And you ignored me, made fun of me, or called me a mod wannabe. Well, have you figured out NOW maybe why I was doing that? In fact, as I recall, I warned you yesterday evening in chat that you shouldn't be talking about illegal stuff, before I left, and you blew me off .. again.

Your childish insistence on talking about whatever you want to talk about regardless of site policy or T&C has cost ME and and the rest of us the ability to chat.

If we ever get chat back, you better watch out for me because next go round I'll be taking names and keeping logs and not give a rat's tail what you think of me because of it.

Seems this thread is very telling on where the lines are being drawn, if you dont like the policy, leave the site! This thread is like a drag net for the stoner idiots!

I'm new here, and I think it is quite rude of SkepticOverlord to call members idiots. Name calling is childish and no one needs that kind of crap right now during these tough times. No one and no thing is an idiot. It's a Disgusting word.

Heike, the last thing that is going to help is "I told you so." This is not a contest about how much you follow the rules.

This is a discussion about what we can do to change the direction of things without banning topics completely, not a discussion about Heike and how she was right the whole time. This is not a popularity contest.

I do. Everyday I see a T&C violation that gets passed up because it's not really that bad. Diplomacy exists because the Mods discuss it all behind the scenes.

"Family site" in the extent that if you type "Bong hit" into a search engine, ATS won't be one of the results. "Family site" to the extent that you can bring your Grandma to ATS and she won't be astounded at the content. I tend to come off as a Mod "ass-kisser" because I've been a Mod and know all the dialog that goes on behind the scenes and I know how they come to their conclusions. I've walked that mile and I've worn those moccassins. If they say it out here, they discussed it back there as a committee and the "official" Mod decision is a decision made by more than one.

That's quite the assumption that ATS will become like Fox News. They report what they are told to investigate, we investigate what we are told is report.
I'm way too smart for my own good and I try like hell to play dumb. It's hard. But, I find that if I read three times more than I post, it helps.

Why are people raising such a fuss about not being able to talk about their bongs or how lit they got over the weekend? It's ridiculous.

And if there's anyone that deserves blame and anger, it's those that violated the T&C. What so many people don't like to realize is that with freedom comes responsibility. I know, it would be nice if we could say whatever we want without consequence, but that isn't life.

Don't blame the owners for enforcing their own rules. The rules every one of us agreed to.

This is not the cause for concern. Bongs and such, that is. The cause for concern is banning the entire topic of drugs when there are, obviously, topics involving them relevant to this site.

ummm no one is complaining about not talking about their bongs. As of right now drug topics are not allowed. Including CIA trafficking, Decriminalization, just some examples. But you already knew that

I do know. But I don't think that was the issue in chat? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it was all CIA talk. But I also know that steps are or were being taken to include conspiritorial drug issues.

That isn't the issue of this thread though, or what I've taken exception to. It's people taking personal exception to being generalized when they are in fact generalizing themselves. And complaining about what has been a long standing rule when it's enforced.

No, Day, I don't think anyone will be intimidated by me. (Although, some of the other Fighters claim to be scared of me ... ).

And, sorry if that came across as "I told you so." I'm pretty angry about losing chat after all the times I've said "please don't discuss this in chat..." and caught hell for it.

In the past, I have refrained from taking names and reporting T&C violations in chat in the interest of not being any more unpopular than I already am. No more.

Had those of us who chat regularly been more willing to report violations all along, the guys who cost us chat last night would have been banned long ago.

So what I'm really saying is, I've made a poor decision and, if given the opportunity in the future, I won't make the same mistake again.

Thanks to all of the Spicoli's out there. Time to get a life stoners. You don't own this site. If you don't like the policies leave site and go hang out in Burger King.

Looking at this thread, its starting to look like no chat may be a good thing. Some members just can't handle it, it seems. Too many addicted to drama to have such a feature.
