Alright guys, my participation in this thread is over.

We'll be discussing ways to incorporate our ideas onto the main board so that everyone will know what's going on, but I don't think we can make any progress in "this" particular thread anymore.

Thanks everybody for your participation. You'll be hearing from us.

Does it feel like a dog and pony show yet?

This is going to take a significant amount of time?

Beaurocracy at its best I guess. But why the rush rush if its going to take more than a day or two to resolve?

I never said there was a conspiracy. That's you showing your lack of ignorance-denying and putting words into my mouth for me. I said that there were sketchy voting practices and questioned if the votes have even been publicly counted, as an example of the sketchiness of this.

And for the record, if I did accuse this of being a conspiracy (which I didn't), then don't act so surprised...this is a conspiracy site in case you have forgot.

But I don't think this group is smart enough to create a conspiracy...wanting to be in positions of power to stroke the ego makes a lot more sense, though.

Let's not go that far. I have an opinion (as I'm sure you do) on lots of threads I don't post in, but just read. Often times my opinion is already sufficiently expressed by someone else.

Also, when you guys discuss options, try to remember that a portion of the membership may actually agree with the ban or something substantially similar to it.

Just pointing that out.

Yeah, we all got together and formed a conspiracy of our own against everyone else. :shk:

Nature of the beast, I guess.

LMAO. You gotta love it.

...And yes sir I'm an activist. I'm an activist for what is right and am 100% against what is wrong. I don't care what the specifics are, if it's wrong it's wrong...

I'm not kidding - matth - you should do it

as long as you mind how it's done, I think it could be a valuable thread

How do we even know the voting is legit?

I knew that was going to come up. I have saved all the data and if staff wants them, they are welcome to them. I already let the council know.

Excellent, thanks for clearing that up!

Although that example has a reasonable explaination, it doesn't change the fact that the vote itself was sketchy and should of been extended. Does anybody have a valid answer to that question? Why the voting was not extended to allow more votes from more members?

How many weeks did ATS have that stupid Barack Obama/John McCain fake poll that meant nothing going on ATS for last October?

I realize this is a discussion you are having with BH, but where do you get a sense of entitlement from?

This is not ours....

If my words showed my lack of ignorance-denying, yours just showed your ignorance.

Most of the people on the committee aren't looking for power and aren't looking for fast-track mod-ship. Most of us only want to help everyone and get this blanket ban lifted.

If you can't see that, that's your problem, not ours.

This is my last post on this thread.

I just want to say that those of you who are still arguing this matter are making yourselves look less competent to the task before you.

Don't let them get your goat, just carry on to the business at hand.

This whole thread has become practically unreadable due to several people behaving like they are in chat.

Just a bit of advise.

You can not please everyone all of the time. If you're not happy with the results, perhaps filing a complaint instead of the personal attacks, might be a slightly more polite approach to dealing with the discontent.

Congratulations to those who are chairing the new committee - I have faith that you guys will do an excellent job.

This is a good point, thank you for raising it. We will want to hear from everyone with an opinion on the matter.

We won't be able to come up with a solution that makes everyone happy, but we will make sure that whatever we hear from the membership gets passed along.

A blanket ban that has been in place all along anyway?

Do you guys seriously think you're going to get anywhere?

I reiterate my statements about the "warm fuzzies"...

I think that is sound advice.

Good luck guys.

Maybe admin will close this thread down soon.

Good. If everything that you are saying is correct and I am in fact wrong, then you and your other fairly-elected committee members should have no problem delaying this issue another 48 hours and agreeing to a re-vote, this time with more potential voters outside of the original group of posters?

You guys organized, nominated and voted on a committee within 24 hours, so 48 hours should be enough time to do it the right way.

If what you are saying is true and a re-vote can be held, then the same committee members will be voted to the committee, I will be proven wrong and will shut my mouth.

If what I am saying is true, then you guys will not even hear the motion of another fair re-vote for this committee, because you know the truth and know that the results might not end up in your favor.

I patiently await your response to see if you're going to prove me wrong or prove me right.

And as a side note, I am not writing this to argue with you; I'm writing this so that the silent majority that is reading this foolishness can see this committee for what it really is. Your opinions of me don't matter in the least, especially when I know that I am on the right side of this issue.

But yet again, the quote "united we stand divided we fall" comes to mind. So why can't we just re-vote, which should make people happy?

It seems everyone on the committee has expressed an interest in continuing to hear suggestions from members - and have suggested a new thread be created for members to contribute their ideas.
So far it is only committee members saying this. I suggest that it will be an indication of how sincere or not the owners are about this issue whether or not they allow such a thread to happen.
I am waiting.

Anyone have an indication of how long until we have an announcement of a decision?

Watching the game when it moves slow is rather boring...

Precisely. Given the administrations actions on the whole subject to date, it's an act of blind faith to think any change in policy verbiage will result in the same in practice.

Call me jaded, but that's blind faith I just don't have.

I'll eat crow when I see it happen, but don't think I'll be picking feathers from my teeth anytime soon.

...wow.

Nobody had anything to quip back at me about my last point. Did I just make a point/respectful appeal that cannot be argued?

Anybody?

I hereby request, as a respectful and otherwise quiet member of ATS, there to be a re-vote for this committee. I request that there be ample time to formulate a legitimate list of nominations and ample time for people to consider the said nominees and vote.

I think this can be done in 48 hours, which is not bad at all time wise.

To further my point, and to prove I'm not just bitter about not being considered for the committee, if such a re-vote were to occur, I will not run in the committee and would trust the voted members to do their job to the best of their ability.

We've got a one shot chance at getting this issue resolved, all I'm saying is let's not waste it and go into this thing divided.

Let's do a re-vote!
