There are extremes in both spectrum and that's the thing I hate the most

Being open-minded makes one seem eager to fit with what's consider "right" and I'm beginning to wonder whether that's the reason why the majority are "pro" in everything.

I just leave those people behind, they just vamp my energy and love to make themselves feel better by trying to make someone feel like an idiot.

Leaving them behind is selfish you could say, but they will eventually turn around when things start to affect them personally. Thats the only way to wake up robots.

I was a young man when 911 happened, and it is sad to say it wasn't until a while after that i opened up my mind. I was taught from day one to accept what ever info gets thrown my way. I imagine a lot of us have been sheltered from anything "against the norm" by the people who showed us the way of life.

I am glad that there is open minded people out there that are willing help notify the public on how our governments spoon feed us B.S. But as some of the other people on this thread have stated, some people absolutely refuse to be open minded and even consider that some of the info we are sharing may help change their views on life for the better and better prepare them for when the *%@# hits the fan.

Ditto that. And add, bunch of us come in here from different worlds of thought and immediate experiences. eg some happy, sad, frustrated, mad and other stuff. I suppose what I'm suggesting is conflicts here can happen on ATS threads just from bringing in our emotions from the outside, and not just a different view within the same ATS topic..
lol - that sort of confused me after reading before posting!

The thing is, I have been accused many times of thinking I am right all the time, when I have made it clear that I verify the info I come across, and would not have the desire to share it unless I was absolutely certain I'm correct.

I don't bother sharing any of the few theories I have (that taking psylocibin more generally would increase our consciousness, and the masses would break out of their drug of apathy & Denial & TV) with people, because there are so many conspiracy REALITIES! I'm making a song about this issue, and I'm going to present the facts... I'm been working on finishing it all weekend.

I used to feel a bit nervous and almost silly, because I was anticipating them to judge me when I first started telling random people like , for example, that person in the store buying an ASSpartame drink, that it has been proven to be detremental to their health... - But now I don't care... - Because I KNOW, as it gets more and more obvious, people will not be able to deny this anymore, and those who spoke out will be very highly regarded in society. - For standing up for what is right, and being man enough to stand out against the crowd!

I for one, since i'm WORKING EVERY DAY to finish my project, I get REALLY REALLY REALLY annoyed, because it's an outright insult to my intelligence, it's a ridiculous display of ignorance that even further proves our point of conspiracy, for they are DUMBED DOWN.

And no, I'm not dangerous, HS: You know that, as you are watching my every move online still, even though it's CLEAR that I am NOT a terrorist, you NUTCASES! - Really; IF you think about it; It is the people who are acting like 2 year olds, covering their ears and eyes, and the tyranny and crimes against humanity that is actually what is CRAZY herre... LOOK AROUND YOU!

As Ron paul said 'What happens if my concerns are completely unfounded? .... - Nothing. - But what happens if my concerns are founded, but continue to be ignored?

- NOTHING GOOD.

The LEAST ANYONE can do as a sentient being is to INVESTIGATE!

- We just have to get TWO FACTS out to the masses:

The banking scam & staged terrorism!!! - WHY IS SO DIFFICULT? Well, let me tell you... - If for one entire weekend, videos like the Money Masters, and Terror Storm, etc were played on EVERY TV channel, their manipulation could not take place.

- But the same bloodlines that are behind all of these problems created to introduce their 'solution' are in control of the media, but if only ONE of them would take the chance, to just spill the beans, it would be fabulous!

I mean really though... Why is it that only certain news sources can have an authority of credibility? THINK FOR YOURSELF!

If your friend wants to keep his head in the sand and be naiive to believe & have BLIND faith in his government that he ASSUMES to be a democracy, the new world order will kick him into awakening, but at that point it may be too late; We will be more concerned with survival than looking up the truth, and then they can just take ithe internet away... - And you won't be able to protest.... SO GET OUT THERE NOW! SPREAD THE TRUTH!Next time he questions your source, tell him 'I got it from the unregulated source of information'. - The internet.

Hah! Just last night I was involved in a heated debate with my girlfriends sister. By the end I was ready just to kick her out of my house, but decided to feel sorry for her close mindedness instead.
I had spent the last couple of days preparing things for incase of total economic colapse which she did not say anything about but kept giving me stares as if I was a nut.
Later that night we went for a walk came back to see signs on the street saying 'fluride is a poison' these are up as the government here is starting to add fluride to the water. This started a debate between us. My argument was that water is water and should always remain water, and that if something is to be added that should be a persons personal choice. Her argument was that it was beneficial for teeth and people who want pure water should buy a purifier... I don't feel they should have to but anyway I kept diplomatic and agreed with where she was coming from and tried to offer some flexibility... she soon changed the topic stating I just dont trust the government... CORRECT i said, in a snarky way she said she doesnt 'understand how people can live without trust in the government. I bit my toungue here out of respect for my girlfriend. I wanted to say how can you trust goverments that go to war saying they have proof and later say it doesnt exist, I wanted to say how can you trust governtments that want to throw borrowed money at a debt problem. But I didnt - Instead i said the government works for the people's interests the people do not work for the governments interests.
And calmly started to walk away - before I could she asked do you believe the us government was behind 9/11 - yes i said, do you believe they landed on the moon she asked, yes i said but highly probable that the history of it is fake i said. now i know what kind of person you are she said in a b*tchy way. Glad we got that sorted I said and walked off - PEOPLE ARE BLIND SHE SAID HERSELF SHE TRUSTS BLINDLY BECAUSE SHE CAN'T IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT IT. Cheers

Ya know... I use to post about 9-11 on some Off-Topic discussion boards on several sports forums... and sometimes I still do.

Where the main forums are about sports... but then they have a forum where you can talk about anything... Wow, I was the biggest outcast on the board.

But also in reality... in the real world... I think most of the 9-11 truth movement is experiencing the same thing.

I feel your pain.

A lot of ous on ATS can see it clear as day. We don't have all the answers... We just know that 9-11 was a lie.

This conspiracy forum will generate more posts agreeing that closed minded people deny the possibility of cover-ups and the like. There is also (as briefly mentioned) the other side of the coin; those that are close-minded to scientific fact because it disproves whatever lifestyle choice they happen to cling to.

These people are at the other end of the spectrum and are equally dangerous. I have seen them hunt/troll in packs and completely debunk any grain of common sense without considering the possibility they might be wrong.

I seriously hope they are of the mind that black=white and get themselves killed on the next zebra crossing.

Its not that they're closed minded. Its just they don't care. There could be a revolution tomorrow and they're so apathetic it does not bother them at all. Never underestimate one of the greatest forces in America, the apathy of Americans. if there was a revolution tomorrow the top three comments would be:

1. Revolution, cool! What channel is it on? It won't interfere with the playoffs will it?

2. Revolution, cool - is that a new Wii game?

3. revolution, K dude, pass me the joint!

Yeah it's sad but it's their choice at the end of the day, we can't impose it down their throats just offer to those that want to know more about it, not everyone is ready to understand it yet it comes in stages for them, like taking off shackles on each limb, undoing the stright jacket etc etc lol.

It's like we are all on a highway travelling to the same destination, we are all travelling at different speeds and some in different vehicles but eventually we'll all end up in the same place together.

My partner knows i live and breathe this conspiracy stuff everytime when i try to tell her something about it she listens sometimes to what i have to say but it goes in one ear and out the other or sometimes she becomes negative and uses the 'monetary system' as her strong point of reference, like 'why worry about that stuff, just goto work and be happy your making a living, hahahahaha thats so funny. They can't comprehend past their conditioned values and lives. the only way is to show them.

I have made heaps of dvd copies of 'Wake Up Call' and 'ZEITGEIST 1 & 2' onto one dvd and i hand them out to my customers who jump into my cab. When someone jumps into my cab we start talking the first thing that generally comes up first in a convo is 'MONEY' or the 'ECONOMY' the conversation then moves into how pissed off they are with the system, that's when i make my entry with the dvd's, i hand them a copy and they say 'whats this about?', 'can i have this?', i just say to them oh it's just information about the system and the global elite who control the masses into slavery, some of them say 'WHAT!!!!', 'how come i didn't know this!!!', i giggle to myself and say 'the dvd is yours my gift to you', they are so happy and leave my cab asking for my card to call me again lol....

I have made alot of new friends from showing them these docos i now invite them over home for dinner, lunch, cuppa tea or just for a chat about it, IT'S GREAT!, we talk about positive changes and the steps we need to do it, and it beats talking about someones job status or how much they make, or what they bought and have. My house is busy everyday with my new mates and now my partner can see how serious it really is and now she is starting to take part and learn but from a distance. Now i hear her talking to her mates on the phone about the stuff i'm into she telling them about it as if shes the one who's into it lol...

We have to show people what's really going on guys, it's the only way to make this sick society heal. Join the Zeitgeist Movement now, the Revolution has already started...

BE THE LEADER BE THE CHANGE BE EVERYTHING!!

The reality of any situation is there is no one side or two sides or even a hundred of sides.

The is an infinite number of sides, the more sides you can see from their perspective the more aware you become. Let's use an example.

Up ahead, a guy and a girl are on a sidewalk near a busy street arguing loudly, but you can't quite hear what is being said yet...how did this come to be? Did the guy say or do something to start it? Did the girl say or do something to start it? Is it a fresh argument? Is it something old that was never fully resolved? Did a guy in a passing car say something about an infidelity? Was it a girl in a passing car? Was it a case of mistaken identity? Are the couple arguing in a relationship? Siblings? Should you get involved to break up the argument?

I could go on but that paragraph is getting long enough and I think I made the point. But keep in mind that I only addressed how the argument may have started. It could be that they are both just loony and are yelling because they are nuts...or it is a PETA demonstration.

Everything is multifaceted, especially the more involved people are and how much the situation means to them. When you look at something like 9/11 as a whole, then you have to accept that some people will say "Wow, sucks to be one of the ones that died, but I am going to go on living my life because it wasn't me." Now the question here is, is that okay for them to be that way?

And we can sum it all up with one of my lame-assed stories from my personal life. Three weeks after graduation from high school, my immediate family moved to Florida. We all spent 4.5 years there and moved back to Ohio. I stayed in the area that I grew up in north of Cincinnati and Mom, Dad and my sister moved up towards Cleveland. I really thought being back where I was before that I could hook up with old friends and re-establish my old acting connections and get back to where I was five years earlier. Surprise! Five years had passed for them too. They moved on and lived their lives without me. Old girlfriends got married, a girl that wanted to go out became famous, old political contacts became indifferent because I couldn't draw a crowd anymore...so kinda like one of those child actors that never get work again except I didn't have a manager steal millions from me

Sure, I am still the same worthwhile person that I always was. But people's perspectives changed when I wasn't around. Because I understand that and can see it from their point of view, I can accept it and go with the flow. Yeah, comparing today to memories of the past is rough sometimes; especially when some of the people that I once rubbed elbows with no longer member me because of their age...it hurts because it serves as a reminder that that will one day be me in their chair. But to be fair to Dr. Creep, it had been 20 years since we had last talked in private and he was working at the time.

RE: "DID YOU GET IT FROM ATS"

Very few news stories actually are originally released on ATS. So instead of saying yes, simply refer to the site which was linked to by ATS. In addition, you can research each story to check the source against other sources.

It was only about a year ago I felt like an idiot for starting to visit ATS. Now I believe I'd be an idiot not to visit ATS. This website has serious stigma! But it is not at all deserved.

That's a very good point!

It's my assertion that close minded individuals lack imagination and creativity. They operate merely on rationality and logic. They embrace the right side of the brain. Open minded individuals tend to embrace creativity and imagination. However, they tend to lack logic and rationality. These individuals embrace the left side of the brain.

Open minded individuals are fully open to external influence. Close minded individuals are fully closed to external influences. Neither of these extremes are healthy. What is rationality and logic without creativity and imagination? Fully embracing the right or left side of the brain merely leads to certain stagnation.

Enlightenment and ultimate awareness arise whenever we embrace both our rational mind, and our creative mind. The right and left side of the brain must operate in unison. They must become a single unit. I should mention that this is a complicated process, and requires much labor. However, the end result is well worth the trouble!

I have stated by this before in other posts "opinions are like butts.....Everyone has one". Everyone is entitled to their opinion even if you believe it is wrong. The OP seems to have forgotten this concept.

From the tone of the post (I know written word does always convey thought properly) I sense great anger. It would seem you are angry because people do not believe what you believe & you have stereotyped them as "Close Minded". I can honestly tell you perhaps its not always the point they don't believe in its your agressive attitude (Most likely bought about by frustration) they don't like & people being people close their minds because it is being "Put in their face" in a way they don't like, its human nature. They could also be joking with you. It would appear also you do not see how you are coming across.

I will give you some friendly advice. By all means state your opinions but don't get so upset about it if they reject or don't like it & label them. Know in your mind you have told them some true wisdom & have tried your best in a civil manner to educate them & they have foolishly decided to reject it. Don't argue with them about it & your consious will be clear. That's their loss. Consider yourself priveliged to have such information & move on.

Please accept this advice or the only friends you have will be ATS & you will get yourself a Prozac habbit. I too meet people like this but if they don't want to know that's their loss & I don't let it worry me that much because deep down I know I have the truth

just the other day I was talking with friends and one of them just randomly starts shouting at me because of my views on 9/11 but he hasn’t ever bothered to research it on his own he just assumes that because I am a part of a conspiracy website it’s all wrong and im crazy for being here

God I hear you buddy. Fortunately most of my friends aren't into confrontation and the rest asses. Although it's gotten better since that one big argument where I found myself against the lot of them talking about Global Warming and how it's a scam. I was the one who actually got a computer out to being up figures and graphs to demonstrate my points which eventually sunk in.

We are the ones who are far more likely to be informed on these subjects! We are the ones who think they are important enough to do the research!

OP

What a coincidence i was feeling the same way about people that believe these conspiracies...

I see most of them as very un-researched and very closed minded.

Its boring to have a person try to convince you of 911 and you watch the videos and look at the research and its boring...

There's never substantial proof, just lots of little things added up which no one of any real standing believes once they read it.

After a few years of this you can tell a conspiracist a mile away and it just gets mind numbing and because they dont relent, you have to make fun of them.

I spend a lot of time working in Nut houses and there are a lot of people in them that believe this kind of stuff. You look at them and it's not something you want to become.

Nothing changes, the sun rises and goes down each day yet conspirisists in their own mind live some kind of inner hell because of what they believe...

It's all about belief isn't it?

You live in a free society and you are allowed to believe what you want but you must afford the privilege to other people who don't want to believe as well. It is equally free for them to how they spend their time.
