I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say im sick to death of close mindedness I really am its just so frustrating and draining to be around people who are close minded sometimes because they just don’t accept anything at all they are just so comfortable living in a world of lies where they are safe from the truth

just the other day I was talking with friends and one of them just randomly starts shouting at me because of my views on 9/11 but he hasn’t ever bothered to research it on his own he just assumes that because I am a part of a conspiracy website it’s all wrong and im crazy for being here

this person I know he tends to poke fun at conspiracies in general he likes to believe that he is right and I am wrong just because I am a part of this site I mean I would occasionally tell some people about a few things that I get from this site mainly news wise and he always shouts straight away DID YOU GET IT FROM ATS not that it really makes a difference in my opinion just because I got it from here doesn’t mean it wrong does it

ARGGHHHH im just so sick of close mindedness I mean I am so glad I found this site when I did I have learnt so much about what the world can really be like good and bad and what amazing things happen every day like for example things that we find in space or certain news stories that "we aren’t meant to see" so......

THANK YOU ATS !!!!

THANK YOU TO ALL THE OPEN MINDED PEOPLE

I think many people who have embraced science fiction, have also embraced these posibilites as if disclosures or prophecy. Many of our science fiction stories and movies has in some way become science fact. Movies such as Total Recall can also have a affect on people the more we hear about the findings there. The ice under the planet's surface etc.

I get the same hing a lot from people discussing religion. It sucks but most of these people just aren't strong enough to be 'open-minded' themselves.

Close minded? I am not closed minded!!!!! Now, I don't want to hear anymore about this, Nor do I wish to discuss this!!!!!! You must have gotten that Idea from some darn "conspiracy site!"!!!!!

But in all seriousness, you are not alone I've encountered the same reactions from some people as you.. just don't let it eat at you...

Yeah and by the way I don't have a problem with someone who takes the "mainstream" view like 9/11 was a simple terorrist attack, we need to be in Iraq, as long as they have thought about their position and have evidence as to why. I just hate the people that cling to a position out of convenience or a "security blanket."

he hasnt even researched it himself i have he is in no position to make any points about it at all im just soo sick of getting close minded people who think they are right all the time

Try living (and being married to) someone who reads their local paper and calls it good!!-LOL I'm with ya', but I'm not sure if it's called close-minded or narrow minded!! Listens to radio and tells me the headline of the day...I laugh in the face of it all!! You just can't get a turtle out of it's shell!!-good day and coffee for everyone!!-(passes cups around...)

I know what you mean and it is frustrating. Like most who are closed minded, there's not much you can do until they, themselves are ready to accept that what they've always considered as truth might be a total fabrication. That is what I discovered from my own personal enlightenment.
Sounds like your friend has that state of mind the popular media and public schools instill in us at birth. "Tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people are bound to start believing it" (Was it ... Goebbels who said that? I know it was one-a-them nazi types. lol)
And when they barrage the masses with spin till they ... well, spin - what comes next is that glossy-eyed, mass hypnosis state, exactly where they want us. And, I believe the agitated and confrontational manner you mentioned your friend displayed (i.e. yelling at you) is unnecessary for any rational person in the course of conversation, and to me indicates an almost text book reaction to opposition brought on by mental conditioning.
Again, that based on my own experience.
So,if this is a very good friend, then either take care and not mention ATS or your thoughts on news you've read here. And, I doubt you'd take that route - after all ... your ATS. We don't avoid discussing these things as a matter of course, everyone agree?
Or, make your best effort to deprogram the dude.
Good luck, Bro.

I understand that point, I have been in a few conversations about 9-11, or even politics in general, and a guy I know will quip up with " hell (sidewynder) believes there are ruins on mars" or something to that effect... LOL he usually does it when he gets himself backed into a corner that he can't argue his way out of...

the first few times it was annoying, now when he does it most know he is just trying to "derail" the argument... And unwittingly he has himself introduced several people to ATS, and introduced me to others that share my interests.. so sometimes good things happen...

It was Hitler who said that.

I would really want to debate with that kind of people in person.

My parents don't like our government or Americas...so I started with 9/11 and JFK.....once you get them believeing you, it's easier to inform them more and more.

What's really annoying are the close minded people who find their way on to a conspiracy site. How does that play out

I do not trust world governments at all and I believe they know only a few beings on earth want to know the true meaning behind their plans. Just look at the Iraq war and those countries that helped GWB slay the Baath Party. These nations were not threatened by Saddam and knew he possessed no WMDs but followed the U.S into war. Are we supposed to ignore this barbarism?

Yeah, you know what I'm sick to death of? People using ATS as a blog and then posting mind-numbingly self-congratulatory posts afterwards.
