I am calling on our experts to evaluate this photo with a fine tooth comb.
I cannot take credit for finding these original anomalies for the first time my husband was the one to spot these things and bring them to my attention.
I thought ATS ought to take a look at this.

Link to the panoramic page
gigapan.org...

If we could get a professional with experience in this sort of photography to chime in on any of the anomalies that would be awesome.

Ok here is anomaly number one.

I had first assumed perhaps it was bad pasting but on the first one nothing else or should I say no one else is out of place... if he doesnt line up why did everyone else?

Not sure how these images were created that is why I am calling on our experts to take a closer look.

Also just noticed the guy with the blue tie had his arm raised.. and the one with the red that is overlaying him does not.

Is this a cover up and if so.. of what?

At this point I am noticing some overlays it seems but the original anomaly.. the fellow with the same head and two different ties.. is still very odd.
I smell something being covered up.

Sorry to ask again, but what is the source of thses photos? It would go a long way in figuring out what the deal is....

Edit to add: I got that they were from the inauguration, what I meant was, what source did the pictures come from? Are they home taken, or from the media...

it has to do with the camera.. this type of thing occurs when the camera used takes rapid photos.. i'm sure there are a few on here that can explain it better

Well, this is a very large panoramic picture, and I am sure it composed by several photos.

And because people don't stand completely still all the time in a crowd, and the different photos most likely weren't taken at the excact same moment, these kind of strange effects will occur when the smaller photos are spliced together to make up the panoramic.

That seems like the most reasonable explanation to me, anyway.

for all except for that first guy who has an entirely different color tie in one half from the other. I can chock alot of it up to normal overlay problems but when nothing else around him is out of place and he is wearing two different ties.. something is odd

I agree - I heard the photos explained on a news show - they have many cameras taking many pictures and they're all computer correlated so that they can actually have a 3-D type image on a screen and change actual 'views' of the moment captured.

Being a photo linked to an actual organization as opposed to a spectator photo definitely makes this a little more fishy in my mind. Much more likely that it is actually a photoshop.
