Mike, the best way to find out is to look where this has already happened and there are plenty of historical examples. And do not forget buildings that are in every day use can be turned into a camp within hours, again there are plenty of historical examples.

As to it being a failure again look at the historical context. People as we have seen can be so easily swayed with no proof what so ever. But given the right conditions people will do anything, again its the fear factor. Americans think because the country is big, populace large and no historical comparison that therefore it cannot happen. Well the point is its already staring to happen, in fact its been happening since before 9/11 but each event and action appears on the surface to be unconnected but they are not.

Its the stepping stones approach, a little at a time so no one really knows whats going on. A piece of the jigsaw here a piece there yet no one can see the full picture and when they do it will be too late.

According to the website bibliotecapleyades, there are two very important states missing these "FEMA" camps. Virginia and Maryland.

Both Border DC and Virgina has Norfolk and Newport News. (not to mention virginia beach, good times ... good times) It would be a mistake for government to take "full controll" without immediatly being able to secure these areas.

So, I guess I'm still a naysayer.

I'm not saying internment is impossible.

Historically we interned so called "others" Native Americans, Germans, Italians, and Japanese.

The fact that most of the suspected sites are in Michigan and most of our Arab population is in Michigan is probably not a coincidence.

Georgia's suspected sites on the other hand also could have racial profiling involved. Georgia is home to the fastest growing African American population in the nation.

If these sites truly exist, besides being located in areas very susceptiable to economic collapse they could plausibly involve racial profiling like the internment camps of WW2.

As for people being swayed in the states with little to few suspected sites, I could easily see people in states such as Texas and Louisiana supporting the internment of minorities during an economic collapse.

That kind of internment is very real and very plausible. It has happened before here and in other countries, e.g Germany. It could very well happen again.

Mike, do you think people will pick up on this and start to move out. I mean again historically the snart people and the money people always seem to move away. is there any sign of this yet or is it still too far off.

If the banks go bust this year all heel will break loos very quickly indeed.

I think people have been picking up and moving out for some time due to urban decay in a phenomena known as "White Flight".

In recent times locally much of the wealth has moved outside city limits and in many cases moving to rural areas in a neighboring parish.

When a social collapse occurs the last place anyone would want to be is in an urban area. New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina gave us a preview of that.

Like New Orleans after Katrina, I suspect Sheriff Depts will confine people who are already in urban areas during the collapse with checkpoints, barricades and if need be bullets. I need to mention our Sheriff Dept showcased their new armored car, looked like some kind of South African armored vehicle, and deputies dressed in digital camo ACUs during our recent Mardi gras parades.

There are plenty of smart people who know this and have chosen to move to rural areas, stock provisions, and arm themselves.
