Can't disagree with most of that Spaceman.. you are absolutely right about it being their choice..however if some of these women really don't know what they are signing up for, then you can't blame them, again on the other hand they always have the choice of changing careers. Many amateur porn stars give up after a month or so because "it doesn't feel right" I have heard this myself from some college girls trying to get into the business. Art pornography in my opinion is not bad as long as the girls are not underage, and they are not doing anything against their will.

You just lost all credibility with that statement. HIV is not "rampant" in the industry. That's ludicrous.

If I could have given you 20 stars, I would have. You're a legend!

Yes, porn does desensitise. It also causes you to have sex on the brain more. And as you get bore of the "normal stuff" you start looking for weirder stuff to get your fix.

Also, it's an extremely powerful addiction. The amount of time you can waste, the amount of sleep you miss out on. It's crazy.

Porn is causing problems. The media in some countries has even, tentatively, looked into it.

The woman may not like it, but remember:
They're being paid to perform those acts, and they are told ahead of time what's going to be done to them. It's their choice to not be involved if it's too extreme.

I have little, if any, sympathy for these girls. They made the decision themselves. It's like girls I know that strip. They always say theres no other way and that they have to make a living but that's garbage. They are just addicted to the insane wads of cash they pull in every night and their greed allows them to sacrifice pieces of themselves.

Not to mention girls these days, especially the 18-25 year old demographic, get off on this stuff, and really honestly think it's "cool" or "hot" in their warped minds. It is part of the whole bad, wild girl image they have to perpetuate. Just turn on VH1 reality TV or whatever and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Ummm, I like porn, i couldn't really care less if it is unnatural, or unhealthy, or whatever, then it's just like the rest of the crap out there in the world that is unhealthy and unnatural for us.

Our world today is based on the worst things possible for the human body and the human mind, this is what i grew up with, this is what i am used to.
so you are saying that you can't grow anymore as a human?

because you grew up eating crap, you don't one day wish for a real meal?

that is the type of thinking that allows our society to turn to crap.

BTW if anyone thinks that people doing porn are doing it for the enjoyment, you really should take your hand off it and try talking to real people.
A real persons name should not include .bmp, JPEG or vid

I am a healthy and active person, i hold a good steady job, i have a wonderful girlfriend, stay in a upperclass neighborhood.

I eat good food, as well as junk food, i drink and smoke, and i watch porn....

in MODERATION..

watching porn doesn't affect my sex life, my gf might not be too happy with the fact i watch porn, but it is what it is, and she gets on with it.

im not some insane pshyco who spends all his time watching the sh!t, no, I also have to make time for xbox live, my gf, work, gym and goin out...

and when i have a free hand...err a free moment, i will watch some porn and i enjoy it alot.

If someone does something for money, and they come back, regardless of feelings.

Then they are doing it for the money.
As stated, nobody is forced.

Do we know this ? are girls forced ?
we cant say.

All i know is, 91% of men have a good time at the pc, and dont give 2 thoughts about any of this.

It's funny...I appreciate the comment and good luck in you rlife but how can you honestly say these girls are abused and don't like it?

There are actually women who enjoy rough sex and don't have social and mental issues. See I have a difficult time with people viewing someone and thinking they know what they are thinking. For all we know they are acting. I mean hey I will never judge. If you want to stop watching porn then good for you. What makes you happy and sane is wonderful. My wife and I however watch porn together sometimes. We don't need it, we aren't depraved, and we aren't freaks. We enjoy what we watch once in a while. The way I see it if a girl wants to try an act that is her business. We don't know what's in her mind, none of us do. We cannot say she's disturbed and we cannot say she isn't.

Let's not make decisions for her because last I checked women are intelligent beings.

Most women in porn are in it for the money. They get paid four to six times as much as men in the industry because of the things they are asked to do. It may not be their "kink," but stone cold cash is everyone's kink!

That's odd one of my friends online for years opened her own minor record label and went to law school on doing porn. She is in her 50's now and said it was the best job to get a lot of money upfront for something that to her was enjoyable. Her first album in the 80's (a heavy metal album) was financed through porn and taking it all off in B movies.

Two friends from Raleigh NC I've had for years did gay porn from age 18-30 and they are retired now at ages 33 and 37 with an upper middle class lifestyle. They spend their time now doing charity work or just gardening. One opened up a small decorating house in Charlotte NC last year.

anyone wanting to understand this subject more may i suggest you watch two films, the first made by an independant film maker is called 'I am a sex addict' and details his path though repression, addiction and salvation (non-jesus related) - a truly touching autobiographic look at sex addiction.

the other is 'choke' which we will no doubt be hearing sickening amounts about soon, chuck palahenic who also wrote fight club describes the life of a sex addict as he learns to cope with his messed up life.

Both show not only that sex addiction can be very real and dangerous but also look at the more complex issues involved with it.

I agree 100%. I'm also tired of women doing whatever they want and when they can't get money shrink to the lowest common denominator and use sex or sexual 'content' and manipulation of men to get what they want. Then they blame the men for being pigs or sex crazed maniacs when THEY are the ones who tempted the men in the first place. They then cry to other feminists (who are jealous because they can't even get men ..so they decide to hate them instead...just makes things easier for them) then these feminists go out and cry all over the media about 'Bad Men' who have taken advantage of these women. We all do stupid things in our lives but women tend to cry about it and blame men so much more to absolve themselves of any responsibility. I don't feel for them at all. She wanted money that bad, she got what she asked for didn't she? and now I will......end scene....with money shot.

pornstars aren't forced into the job, atleast in america, so i dont think the plan these ppl go through should even be considered by us. they are performing in porn flicks for money, and are doing it voluntarily, so why should their discomfort affect any of our opinions on pornography?

cybertroy,

I would like to commend you for posting this as I believe this is a subject we should all be aware of. Also don't be discouraged by the negative comments or those voicing the opinions that there is nothing wrong with porn and they are perfectly normal.

I would first like to interject a few of my own thoughts. The first being that If you have the right type of relationship with your mate then porn is not nessesary. I know many of you will say well some people are into differant things but my point here is that in a relationship that involves true love there is a degree of intamacy and trust involved which involves giving of yourself completely to your partner and vice versa. I do not have the time and space to write about what this involves but it is actually a shame how few of the population actually gets this point. Those of you that understand know but those that fall into the "do not get it" category" won't and the reason they won't is becasue there are unable to come to terms with their own selfish behaviors or not able to cope with the fact that they choose the wrong mate in the first place for the wrong reasons.

Next I would like to point out that sex is an intamacy between two people that are in love with each other anything other than that can be considered a selfish act merely to take care of your own personal needs. Porn is nothing more than Prostitution between individuals that are not in love and are getting paid to perform sexual activitites. For those of you that think they enjoy it or enjoy that lifestyle I encourage you to think again and do your own research on the subject. Most girls in the porn industry want nothing more than any other woman does and that is to have a loving monogomous relationship with a mate. THrough their own bad decisions they allowed themselves to get caught up in an industry that is both abusive, controlling, and difficult to escape from.

If you actually resarch this from an intellectual point of view you will find that 98% of "pornstars" have contacted herpes or a various array of other STD's, most have had abortions, Most have had difficulty with other internal problems such as fissures, internal bleeding, infections, and 90% are hooked on heavy drugs as a method of numbing themselves to what they are doing. The vast majority of individuals in this business have been abused and/or neglected as children. The ones that do have children are doing the same to their own children. Many find it difficult to leave the industry becasue of the money and how they have allowed it to control their lifestyles. Money is but a form of abuse that the porn industry uses to keep it's employees. The porn industry is just like any otehr business in america they are in it for the money and they will do whatever it takes no matter who gets hurt. So to say that porn is a victimless crime is incorrect. There are so many that get hurt in this indistry and becasue of this industry. I would also gander that all the psychos and abusers that are out there many find themselves in this industry as a way to fullfill their abusive natures.

So you say that your mairrage sucks and porn gives you what your mairrage does not. I think you should look at your own life to discover the problems in your mairrage or relationship rather than support an industry that merely creates more problems in your personal intimate relationship. Porn isn't helping your relationship it's hurting your intamacy with the person that you love or the one that you will fall in love with.

I encourage you to do your own research and read about the industry before you say porn is harmless. I then encourage you to read and learn about realtionships and what real love is all about rather than what the TV says love is. Havn't you ever seen a realtionship between an older couple taht have been married for ever and the glow they have that tells you they are still in love? I realize that is the exception and not the norm but it shouldn't be it's becasue most do not realize what real love or intamacy truely is.

If you were to experiance that level of love and intamacy that I talked about you would have the most gratifying and wonderful sex life you could ever imagine and it would literally blow your socks off to any fantasy you could ever conjure in your mind.

I hate to generalize, but....

Several years ago I had the pleasure to meet one of the nicest, most intelligent, most warmly generous people I've ever known.

And yes, she was a former Adult Film star. From what I was to learn of her career (from mutual friends) she was quite famous during the Eighties, with a number of titles to her credit.

Alas, the industry, until most recently, was a young womans' world, and she soon realized that there is more money to be made behind the camera than in front of it.

And again, as I've said, she, and her husband of many years (who was her producer when she was still acting) and their kids, are wonderfull folks.

Yes, it can be a difficult career path, with its share of risks and disappointments. Like any career in the enterainment industry at large.

Yes, drugs and other addictions have taken their toll on many young performers. Again, the same can be said of many entertainment genres.

But like so much in Life, you make your bed, and what you do in it is up to you.

Money, money, money! Yes, yes, yes!

I only feel bad for those unlucky/unaware girls who got caught up in others vicinity. There are vicious minds everywhere.
Those who are in it for the pleasure, fine, but those who don’t find pleasure or are in for ill intent and still try to falsify their reality as a glamorous, well screw them. It’s like those guys who pretend how they like to go down on women only so they can tell the world how *it* stinks. I’m sure there are lots of little secrets behind the scenes we’ve never heard of.

What I don’t get, is those ex-porn stars/ addicted who confessed how they are delivered from porn. How can you have tasted such liberation bliss only to return to righteous alienation? I mean, once you go porn, you can’t go back right? Or can you and why?
I feel like the porn issue is a useless debate between those rebels against the “holy church” and the holy church.
Just beware of mindless rebellion that only desensitize and alienate even more, especially when you put a price tag to it.

Anyway, OP My personal opinion would be that porn cheapens down something that could very well be more deeply wonderful then we think.

Actors play roles they do not like all the time. There are good people portraying bad, and vice versa.

No part of any job is all fun and games.

As for the couple intimacy thing. Saying that a couple doesn't need help comes from somone who has never been married, or hasn't been married long.

it is not that you don't find your partner attractive, or want to be with them. But you do tend to get into a rut, you get into a bad habit of doing the same thing over and over after awhile. What is easy and routine. And it happens to everyone. Porn helps give new ideas, and courage to try something new. It opens up conversations for stagnant couples to voice their fears and needs. It is a tool, not a replacement.

I think more people have benefited over the years with college funding, an income to support their family or personal success in the "industry" than have been harmed. It would be ironic to assume NOBODY has a choice when they take their clothes off!

But the happy ones aren't the one's to shout about it are they?

How many hollywood stars would still be waiting tables if they hadn't got naked. How many "goths" would be punching peoples lights out if they couldn't tie eachother up. How many prostitutes or table dancers would be un-educated or poverty stricken parents if they couldn't get paid for sex?

OP: all the BAD things you talk of as the result of "porn" can happen to a lot of people NOT in the "industry" too! Drink, drugs, and.... smoking

Personally, I have evolved over the years from Soft to Hardcore porn but now I prefer "Hentai" porn.

People-porn has bored the pants off me for the last time.

Hentai Art in Japan (or anywhere) is nothing to be ashamed of.

Some of the artists are completely incredible and can be a true source of inspiration for lots of artists. I would say some of the images I've seen are the most beautiful I've ever seen. Fact!

Art, and sometimes with a sadistic twist.....at least it's honest and there's no falseness about it.

Give me "Tifa", "Katsumi" or any of the Hentai Legends anyday.

The female form is just one of those things that people HAVE to accept can be an "object of desire". Nobody's fault...it's nature.

Seishin Izayoi .... Now this guy can draw!
(no link provided so I don't get in trouble here but feel free to U2U me)

Ultimately....each to their own as long as nobody is harmed.....and anyone who thinks porn can mess people up: it's not what you do to the mind, it's the mind you do it to imo.

"It's mine and I'll wash it as fast as I like!"

money.

nothing else i can type here or anywhere for that matter will make any difference in the world. but...

i like porn, i think the women do get abused, but i also think they are not forced to do it. so let people do what they want for that glorious thing we call money. even if that involves getting abused.

make the right decisions or live with the consequences.

I (usually) only watch porn with only girls in it (solo, girl/girl). I doubt this kind of porn is physically damaging. I also don't find naked large breasts to be very attractive, either. I like to see a women being pleasured (most of the time it is fake though
).
