I thought at first that this business was so rediculous that it would quietly go away but then I wondered just who was behind the whole thing to begin with.

I think that what is involved is less about "Joe" than an attempt by a fledgling "news" organization to get their name out there.

And to answer the question about just what credentials Joe needed to represent this news outlet....

Become a Pajamas TV Media Sleuth to report on examples of media bias and deception that you want exposed or that you have countered (you must be 13 years old or older).

So Joe must have met the "age" requirement although I'm confused if you are countering the media bias, or have EN-countered media bias.

Joe is almost the entire creation of the McCain campaign. He was intended to demonstrate that McCain's policies were better for the average, middle-class guy (you know, the guy down the street who makes 250k or more and worries that Obama is going to raise his taxes) than Obama's were, and to demonstrate that McCain in particular and Republicans in general are just good ol' boys.

I'd say that one day soon he will show himself for what he really is, but actually he's already done that and he's still the darling of the Rush Limbaugh crowd. As P.T. Barnum once said, you'll never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the public.

The thing that is absolutely hilarious is that after he said that no media should cover the conflict, he said that he misses the old days of WWI and WWII, where Americans would get their news sources from watching movies.

First, was he even alive during WWI or WWII? And second, if he relies on his news from movies, then I worry when he finishes watching Gigli.

Here is the real Sam Wurzelbacher in case anyone actually think this guy is worth two craps...

W. Newell, is licensed by the State of Ohio and the City of Toledo.[11][18]

An MSNBC article further elaborated on the requirement for Joe to legally work, "...anyone working under Newell should have a journeyman’s plumbing license or an apprenticeship license, officials said."[72] Local 50 of the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters and Service Mechanics, whose national membership endorsed Obama, stated that Wurzelbacher has not yet completed the apprentice program he began in 2003.[73]

A representative at the court explained that Wurzelbacher had not paid $1,182.98 of personal income tax. The state filed a lien on January 26, 2007, and the payment remains outstanding.
