Joe the Plumber Calls On Obama to Help Israel

www.examiner.com

ASHKELON, Israel (Map, News) - Joe the Plumber called on U.S. President-elect Barak Obama on Monday to help Israel in its campaign against Hamas.

The plumber-turned-war correspondent has been unabashed in his support of Israel's two-week campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip and has been touring the Gaza border region and Israeli towns hit by Palestinian rocket fire.

"President Obama has already spoken about what he would do here. That if his daughters were living here he would take whatever means necessary to protect his daughters. So I just hope he carries through with it, but that is going to be up to him," said Joe, whose real name is Samuel J. Wurzelbacher.

Wurzelbacher was given a model rocket as a gift from Israeli plumber Moshe Nissimpur in the southern city of Ashkelon, near Gaza.

"Joe the Plumber" (who wasn't exactly a plumber) has now become qualified to be a war correspondent in the middle east. His "fifteen minutes of fame" during McCain's campaign has apparently paid off handsomely.

Calling on Obama to help Israel seems gratuitous, since Obama has given every indication of supporting Israel anyway. Anything to stoke the fires of liberal/conservative partisan warfare.

I just wonder why Joe isn't in the Congo, where tens of thousands are being killed. That's a conflict in which American intervention is really needed.

I think the whole "Joe the Plummer" thing is .....I can't even find the words!!! What in the hell makes him qualified in any way to report on the conflict in Gaza? I guess the msm thinks he gets the publics attention somehow because the public is fed up with them. It is pure stupidity imo.

The same qualifications that the Hollywood celebrities use to criticize the govt. and make their own political statements on worldwide TV broadcasts.

The MSM gives all of these maroons including Obama the credentials that they need.

This is perhaps the most bizarre thing to come out of the 2008 presidential campaigns. Though cockiness is abundant in the media, the possessors are usually aware of their shortcomings to a degree, and work at concealing them. Joe seems to be of an entirely different sort--entirely unaware of the spectacle he has made of himself and the glaring stupidity he displays. So in fairness, I do have to applaud the man for his unbridled arrogance, the likes of which I haven't seen in a while.

It's like my fiance's sister said

"I paid over $80k so that Joe the PLUMBER could do my job for me?"

Welcome to America, where even 15 minutes of fame could make you a celebrity

A blatantly transparent attempt to drum up support for the atrocities by appealing to the "ordinary" man.

This would be hilarious if it weren't for the fact that many will fall for it.

Wow, weird. I thought that he would stick with the right-wingers and throw his support against Israel.

Maybe I underestimated him.

I don't really think it's fair to get a cool correspondent job, though. I mean, that's just not cool. Journalists work really hard to compete for jobs like that and somebody throws him one.

To be fair to Joe the Plumber, I wish a rocket would land on his head.

Seriously, how much more help does the mighty Israel need? Do they want the Americans to hold their privates whilst they take a leak?

I wonder if he'll write a book about his experiences? You know what he's doing, right?

Palin/Plumber 2012

Say it ain't so, Joe!

I wholeheartedly agree with you PammyK. Who in the hell does this goober think he is? He's not even a certified, (journeyman) plumber. And now he's a war correspondent.

I think I'll go for Tim Russert's job. After all, my experience as a mortgage broker more than qualifies me.

I don't wish it, but if he isn't careful

he may end up Joe the dead man.

Don't think it is worth the extra 15 minutes of fame.

What's absolutely astounding is that he said the other day that journalists should not be allowed into war zones since they provide a more accurate and diverse picture of the war, as opposed to straight-up World War II-style propaganda.

Yes, Samuel, journalists should not be allowed into war zones. Especially journalists like you.

To be a correspondent doesn't take years of study. You can either do it or you can't. The most important thing is a bit of common sense, which among correspondents, isn't all that common.

Joe seems to be a down-to-earth guy who can cut through the BS and get right to the point. After all, he certainly caused the Annointed One to stumble and mumble.

That ability to eliminate ancillary considerations and cut right to the root of a problem is priceless.

For years, non-Americans have claimed that Americans are stupid. We went to the polls this last time, and removed all doubt.

Good for Joe Plumber. As long as average people like him, he'll do well.

For elitists, he'll drive them mad.

PajamaTV is hardly the main stream media.

Thank you and try again please. Only $1 a shot!

I'm sure he won't be disappointed with Obama when he takes office. If there is one thing both Republicans and Democrats seem to agree on it's Israel.

I have to concur with this statement. I am quite fed up with Joe the Warmonger. I wish he would go away. As long as he is over there, and as long as Hamas is oh so dangerous, let him be eliminated by a rocket attack.

For the record, I don't believe he is an ordinary American. He is getting FAR too much publicity to be someone ordinary. It reeks of bull# to me.

Love the bit about Obama protecting his daughters if they lived in Israel. As if his response would have been any different if they were in Gaza. Talk about spin; what a big stinkin' pile of...

Who the hell does Joe the Plumber think he is??? Well, let me remind you that he recieved the full endorsement of John McCain, Sarah Palin and the RNC. So he MUST be important or they never, ever would have made such a big deal out of him, right?

If Joe said it then it must be true and it must be important. Obama better listen to him. I mean, he would have been Seretary of State or something if the Republicans had won.
