I think it is very arogant to say that China is a ''backwards society''. China was the cradle of civilisation as we know it today. If it wasnt for China, the world may possibly be still in the dark ages.

All I have to say is,
Stop trying to resurrect the Cold War and grow up already.
Seriously, I'm tired of US nationalism and paranoia. The sheer arrogance and hypocrisy of these claims on how everyone needs to "wake up" to see how 'scary' China is getting... B.S., all of it.

China has been taking over the world for 5,000 years now. It is too bad that they now toil under the brutal, mind-killing yoke of Communism. This is one of the most brutal communist strongholds on the planet. To hold it up as a model for human social organization is an intellectual leap few honest people can make.
Communism in China has killed untold numbers of their own citizens and legislates human sexual activity! It is insanity to think this is a good way to live.

You know I was just thinking about just how much pollution they are really pumping out the US pollutes mostly by automobiles not too much manufacturing going on anymore here.
The Chinese on the other hand have lots of factories going without regulations and they are buying more and more automobiles.
Another thing to keep an eye one aye?

North Korea is a purely military nation, I think they have the 4th largest Army in the world, and with China having the largest in the world (army) they would be a force to be reckoned with, while they're not an economic super power they are definitely a military super power. Not to mention they are incredibly reclusive and secretive, who the hell knows what they have up their sleeve??
Hmmm, I suppose it would depend on who attacks first, China and North Korea's navies are primarily green water so I would guess they would wanna stay close to an Allies Landmass and use hit and run siege tactics on the coast and use their Military numbers to defend acquired coastlines.
America has one major dis-advantage though-it's people. To avoid civilian casualities they would not be able to unleash their full might in an Allied area, unfortunately I believe China or North Korea would have no such problem....
A Chinese company closely aligned with Beijing is rapidly expanding its Pacific port operations south of the American border. This is yet another example of China’s increasing global stranglehold on strategic ports and sea-trade gateways. For Americans, there are important security and national self-sufficiency implications.
The Trumpet has repeatedly warned about China’s long-term strategy to control the world’s most strategic seaways. The U.S.-built Panama Canal, arguably one of the world’s most strategic waterways, is under Chinese control. So too is Freeport in the Bahamas, which China developed into one of the world’s largest shipping terminals. China has also extended its Caribbean sea-gate control in Ecuador, where China owns that nation’s only natural deep-water port.
However, amid China’s many overt Latin American takeovers of strategic trade chokepoints and shipping facilities, its rapidly growing presence in Mexico, America’s next-door neighbor, has gone largely unnoticed and underreported. There, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., the huge Chinese shipping conglomerate (which also controls the ports on both ends of the Panama Canal and the other above-mentioned facilities), controls several major ports, including those in Manzanillo, Veracruz, Michoacan and two ports in Ensenada.

Why is talking about China growing economically or militarily a scary thing?
Did you even bother reading the post and replies?
I know many of you will say that they won’t be able to compete with the newer more high Tech American hardware but I think it’s safe to say that they are not playing around. I also know that many of their newer hardware has not been battle tested Should we just take a chance on that?
