Well said. Unfortunately it is like this . As a former soldier I detest war. But this area is and always has been in turmoil. The only true victims are the ones who happen to have been born there. May god have mercy on the innocents and end this before it kills another generation . Star to you .

There is a real good reason that Israel isn't letting western reporters into Gaza, that reason is that they don't want the documentation of a credible journalist source to record the crimes against humanity and the war crimes that are being committed by Israel.

People are being slaughtered left and right in Gaza right now and they don't want the world to know about it.

Yes they are allowing some trucks of humanitarian relief into Gaza, that doesn't mean it's actually getting to the people. It may be being diverted by the Israeli defence force, or being taken by Hamas militants.

A few trucks being sent in through the Egypt boarders doesn't equate to the amount of people that live in Gaza. Think about a major city and how much food and water it would take to keep people alive in those cities. A few trucks entering from Egypt isn't going to cut the mustard.

When all is said and done with this operation you may find that the death toll of civilians in Gaza be horrendous. As of 7:00 AM EST Israelis reported no deaths but 28 injured soldiers and over 460 Palestinian casualties.

I am quite certain that the death toll is much higher. The hospitals in the Gaza strip are being flooded with casualties. The ones that can escape to Egypt when the boarder crossing is open are those that are ambulatory and can make it on their own. The triage situation in Gaza must be a complete nightmare.

Even with smart weapons and pinpoint accuracy the yield of these missile strikes by the Israeli forces is going to cause splash damage, and that damage is going to kill innocent civilians.

Israel has claimed that it had sent leaflets into Gaza warning anyone who wished to leave to do so 24 hours prior to the invasion but to my knowledge no one has seen one of these leaflets.

Israel claims that the Palestinian people aren't their enemy, but it's a hard line to swallow when so many innocent civilians are being injured and killed by a technologically advanced military force.

If they would allow outside journalists into Gaza I am certain the war crimes charges against Israel would start to stack up. I am certain that the civilian casualty rate would be sickening to even the most hardened person.

What we are talking about here is urban warfare in an incredibly packed area of land. When you are talking about that many people it's hard to imagine that any military force made up of people, of human beings could possibly be accurate enough with heavy machine gun and machine gun fire to miss civilians while hitting their targets.

Israel has said that it has no plan to occupy Gaza again but they have also said that this will be an extended operation. This translates to me that this indeed will be an occupation of Gaza and again the oppression of the people of Gaza will increase.

Plain and simple what Israel is committing is a Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing operation. They want the whole world to be on their side claiming that Hamas is a terrorist organisation. This will give them an excuse to claim that many more people are members of Hamas and therefore they will be able to get away with this murder.

When Innocent civilians are being killed it isn't acceptable losses its a crime. When children are being killed it's not an unfortunate accident it's murder. When women are being killed it's not an accident it's the eradication of a people.

Don't let the Jewish Lobby fool you. This isn't because the Palestinian people have broken the cease fire. There apparently is evidence that Israel has also done their part to break the cease fire agreement by sending in special forces to assassinate Hamas leaders. This is because they don't want the Palestinian people there. They want that land. They want to exterminate the People of Gaza in order to annex Gaza into Israel.

Do you think that they will be done with the killing once that the fighting ends in Gaza? No, what will happen is that they will again turn their PR machine on convincing the world that they need to take out the bad element in the West Bank. Then you will see the same thing happen there.

Bias much?

Wait a minute here, I certainly am not a Zionist. However the fact remains that Jews do deserve to live. People have the inalienable right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The Merchant of Venice puts it perfectly...

Humans deserve to live. Humans have the right to exist. The extermination of a people no matter who those people are is wrong. In this thread I argue against the slaughter of Palestinian people by the state of Israel. I believe that it is wrong for civilians to be in the line of fire. I believe that it is wrong for people to be oppressed and wiped out by a stronger force. I believe that it is wrong to kill a child.

But that does not mean I wish to have the Jewish people killed. Jews deserve the right to life and to be able to live peaceably on this earth just as anyone else does. When you say that if you believe that even one Jew deserves to live that makes you a Zionist, this makes my blood boil. Being a person is right enough to be allowed to live. This does not make one a Zionist. It shows that some people have apathy.

You are a Zionist, by the definition of the word. People twist the meaning of the word too be something dirty. But it isnt. It just means you agree that the Jews deserve too exist. So unless you're a NAZI you are a Zionist, by the definition of the word.

Well know I understand why former President Jimmy Carter said that America should distance itself from Israel. It seems that sometimes (not always) Israel acts like they want to pick a fight.They keep claiming that it's for the rockets being fired. That's what we're being told. But I hear different stories from people I meet that were over there. Israel knows that America will continue to supply financial and miltary aid. And that is why the Middle East hates us.

I don't have any ill thoughts towards Israel. But America needs to shake off all these little birdies on the hippo's back and follow the Constitution's advice: and non-interventionist Foreign Policy. NO NATION BUILDING.

Isael is trying to build a nation. And we're helping them. And it makes us look bad.

If any nation can't sustain itself without having to be propped up by another nation then what gives? What natural rescources does Israel have? What do they produce? Oil,Agriculture? Manufacturing? Israel has close to 250 Nuclear weapons. 250.

Again, I'm not a Muslim. I'm a Christian and I don't hate Jewish people. But I love my country and I feel that we need to stay out of this. In fact, we need to get out of the Middle East all together.

Yesterday in Glasgow I walked with others who are horrified and deeply aware that children are being killed in Gaza.

Of those who walked, there were Scots, English, Poles, Serbs, Italians and Jews. Two of those Jews were from Israel. On speaking to them my heart was warmed by their genuine empathy towards those children and civilians.

They said the US was not only the instigator of these attrocities, but, also of the attrocities to follow.

There is a bigger picture plan in operation here people, what it is I dont know, but for certain it is not going to be positive for mankind.

May everyones god save those children.

Let's put things into perspective here. While I cannot bear the thought of innocent women and children dying from warfare--anywhere on earth, I still have to look at it objectively. Israel in the attempt for peace between the Palestinians and themselves agreed to give up the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians. They tried. In response the Palistinians have been using their strategic foothold to use rocket fire against Israel.

It has been known throughout history that Israel uses their warfare expertise as an attempt to stop aggression by other countries. Hamas knows this.

Hamas has purposely put their women and children among themselves as a sort of human shields. They already know that their starting up with Israel will be retaliated. So when Israel retaliates in an attempt to fight for their very existance, they already know beforehand that this will happen. Israel always retaliates with full force. They try to nip the problem in the bud quickly. Hamas knows Israel can wipe them off the face of the map if they really wanted to. This, however, is not Israel's intention. They want peace for their own people and for the Palestinians and actually for the whole world.

However, they cannot stand by and let others try to destroy them. The Jewish people and the Arab people are both Semetics. They are from the same blood. The only difference is their beliefs and culture.

The bottom line is that Israel should not be looked at as the bad guys in this situation. Israel is doing to Palestine as Hamas expected them to do. The fact that they are using their own families as human shields is Hamas' fault and not Israel's.

You also have to look at the way the Palestinians are raised from the time they're little. They are taught extensively that Israel is bad. They don't like Israel. They are not taught to hate Jews. It is drilled into them to hate Israel. This I know from working with many Arabs--all of whom were good, decent, respectful people, but had the idea of Israel is bad and they are living on their land and it does not belong to the Israelites.

By the way when are they going to give Iran back to the Persians? When are the Kurds getting their own state?

There is no winner in this war, if you can call it a war. In this conflict, there is only losers. Losers on both sides. The Palestinians feeling the major brunt.
