I feel like if the guy is a Geologist who works at Yellowstone, and he has issued this warning, albeit in an unofficial capacity, that it CERTAINLY warrants my attention (as I am just inside of the boundaries of the largest predicted fallout zone).

However, if others aren't as interested, so be it.

This guy is more qualified than I am to assess this stuff. So, I'll give it my attention. However, I also realize that this isn't an official Government Press Release or anything, so I shouldn't start leaving my house yet.

Use sound judgement people. Don't panic.

There is a lot of crying wolf on ATS, but if it happens at least we had the info ahead of time, versus watching it on the idiot box! There is a lot of disinfo, just have to sort through it, but how many poo-poo the idea of an economic meltdown. I bet it was brought up more than once in the past several years!

Anyway, I love this site because I feel like I get the inside scoop on occasion, which is better than never getting that scoop! IMHO!

Don't shoot the messenger. Let's look at what he posted in red letters on his site.

I would say that "We have all of the pre warning signs of a major eruption from a super volcano. - I want everyone to leave Yellowstone National Park and for 200 miles around the volcano caldera." means evacuation does it not?

This is not come to Yellowstone to see the next geyser blow.

Just passing on what was discovered.

Update time = Thu Jan 1 19:31:44 UTC 2009

Posted by geologist Christopher C. Sanders on January 1, 2009.

"I am advising all State officials around Yellowstone National Park for a potential State of Emergency. In the last week over 300 earthquakes have been observed by the USGS. We have a 3D view on the movement of magma rising underground. We have all of the pre warning signs of a major eruption from a super volcano. - I want everyone to leave Yellowstone National Park and for 200 miles around the volcano caldera."

The point I'm trying to make, is for those who are uneducated about whats going on, will panic at the sight of "Evacuation Warning!". How hard is that to understand? I mean, really?

You are out of your skull! They want people to die! Why would they warn anybody? You my friend, carry way too much trust for our sinister government...

Calm down dude! This is ATS, anyone taking an evacuation warning serious on this web site without some thought and research is an idiot. You are obviously a newbie, not that there is anything wrong with that, but these types of threads make ATS - ATS! Realtruth is just the messenger and I give him credit for bringing this to everyone's attention, in the end he could be right! I would rather be wrong and alive, than dead!

You misunderstand me. I'm concerned for the people of lower intelligence, who may instantly panic, over react, have an anxiety attack, whatever. Yes, there are people who use the net, who believe everything they see on the net. Just trying to look out for these people. Thats all I have to say about that.

Don't get so worked up over it, if it bothers you that much I'm sure there are hundreds of other threads to check out. Personally if this guy really is what he says he is then I full on want to hear what he says. For now until something comes of this (if anything does) lets just sit back and watch what news is brought forth etc. Ok? Chill. Be calm.

Actually there is a chain of volcanoes that span quite a few miles. Northern Arizona is nothing but old volcanoes of variouis ages. That is where sunset crater sits. Funny, it hasn't erupted in 10k years but they keep it fenced off with a nice monitoring system on it.

People go four wheeling on old cinder piles all around there.
I would not be surprised if Yellowstone was a part of this giant line.

If you were looking out for them then you wouldn't be accusing people of having lower intelligence.
And I am sure that they wouldn't want you as a keeper, if there were any.

Ah, I see how this works now. Someone comes in with a different view than the thread intended, and they get flamed for expressing an honest opinion? Is THAT how ATS works? Really? Is that what you're saying? Sure sounds like it. Carry on, as you were.

I think you must have misunderstood the point I was trying to make earlier that you quoted from.

Yes, I am acknowledging that the Government will make a release of the information. However, it would still be prudent for people to pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to this.
You see, BECAUSE the Government CANNOT order any sort of red-alert or evacuation order until they are pretty damned certain the thing is about to go, that alone will make their response inadequate to an event like this.

It is JUST LIKE Hurricane Katrina, if it is truly about to go, where you will have the potential for catastrophic loss but little to nothing the Government can do about it.

Why can't they do anything about it? For the simple fact that the possibility of them being wrong is very high. Things like this only occur very rarely. If they ordered a full-on evacuation at every threat, they would be harming the public by doing so. They cripple the economy and incite tons of fear. They won't comment until, and if, it is iminent. However, it is still a good idea to keep a very close eye on it and when we hear geologists who work there getting concerned, it is time for us to do so as well. Forewarned is forearmed, or something to that effect.

I'm not advising people to run to the hills, but to monitor this very closely if you are potentially effected by it.

Sorry for the novella, I just wanted to clarify my position.

A few months ago 32 volcanoes started to erupt on the same day as was reported by RSOE. That pattern has not changed and the volcanoes are still listed. I thought it odd. There was no MSM coverage. I think they know something is happening at the earths core. Maybe, they don't know exactly what. Now, Yellowstone and there is another volcano that started erupting in Russia at the same time as the Yellowstone earthquakes. That is enough warning for me.
