GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Gazans cowered in their homes Sunday as Israeli warplanes pressing one of Israel's deadliest assaults ever on Palestinian militants unleashed missiles on weapons warehouses, a police station, the homes of militant field commanders and dozens of other targets across the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.
Hundreds of Israel Defense Forces infantry and armored corps troops headed for the Gaza Strip border early Sunday in preparation for a possible ground invasion, military officials said.
Long-term preparation, careful gathering of information, secret discussions, operational deception and the misleading of the public - all these stood behind the Israel Defense Forces "Cast Lead" operation against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, which began Saturday morning
Your spot on and most people don't notice and the media affects popular opinion in this way, by swaying the minds of the public wich in turn effects how the given situation will either garnner or loose public support...sad isn't it....sigh
Isnt news propeganda at its finest these days?!
Hamas leader calls for new uprising against Israel
27 Dec 2008 19:32:39 GMT Source: Reuters
GAZA, Dec 27 (Reuters) - Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal called on Saturday for a new uprising against Israel after air strikes in the Gaza Strip killed 208 Palestinians.
"I call upon you (Palestinians) to carry out a third intifada," Meshaal, who lives in exile in Damascus, told Al-Jazeera television in an interview.
He called for a "military intifada against the Zionist enemy", as well as "a peaceful intifada internally", an apparent reference to Hamas's power struggle with Western-backed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, whose government is based in the Israeli occupied West Bank.
In simpler terms, how many times must Israel beat the dead horse to kill the horse?

Exactly. The thing about all this is that the Hamas did do some things to make Israel retaliate from the attacks made upon them. But lets compare the apples to the oranges here.
Seeing how much devistation Israel is capable of..thanks to the US made hardware and funds, is the severity of this devistation taking it way over the keel and completely overtaking the level of "fair is fair" as far as a retaliation is concerned?
Its understandable that Israel would defend itself. But this is not defending anything by any means, it is pure invasion, pure destructive assault and pure aggressive killing on Israel's part.
In simpler terms, how many times must Israel beat the dead horse to kill the horse?
Cheers!!!!

I am by NO MEANS agreeing with the attacks by Israel. I hate war. But hasn't Israel beat that horse many times and it still keeps getting up? When is sanity going to come?
Killing will NEVER bring real lasting peace.

This is pure speculation.
If this thing continues to escalate there is a good chance that Obama will not take office.
I have been saying for a year or so that something might happen to keep the current administration in power.
God I hope I'm wrong.
