A 60degree change in a day? Okay, that isn't weather. Any further info on this since? Or perhaps other monitoring sites too?

Good find....

It is not ice today, it is all seismic and there is quite a bit of it. This is taken from YPK from 1400 to 2300. It has been sliced up just to give the sounds. You can see this repeated on several seismos.

ypk_20110430_composite.mp3

The IRIS seismogram: YPK.WY..EHZ.2011.120

This is the COMPOSITE waveform - I must stress this is NOT continuous activity.

The above is the activity bits from this:

I have marked some of the approximate times and compared the to the seismo.

Some really nice clear, if small, quakes there.

You say it's not ice. It is quake activity.

Anything we should be concerned about?

I shouldn't bother if I were you.

Sweden is a really great place in the summer, but if that thing goes off, we won't be getting one of them for a while....

So how good is your personal guarantee? Are you saying it will never go off? 0% possibility in the next week? Next year? Next 100 years?

No nothing to be concerned about. They are very small. I just thought they were nice and clear for a change.

But Holmes Hill??? YHH.WY..EHZ.2011.121 Today but unless I missed that I don't see it in the USGS list. That has to be around a 2.5 to 3.0

Maybe it is less

www.isthisthingon.org...

That does not seem as big. Only just showing on YMR and YMC

YMC.WY..EHZ.2011.121

This is the sound of that bump
YHH.mp3

Edit: Forgot to say that the sound above is N,E and Z all together

That sounds like a heartbeat when 'cleaned up'

There have been about seven little quakes in a flurry near the spot of the last major swarm of Jan '10.

Again, I have to say there some more little wee ones in the same local. Near YMR, YMC. Jan. 15 2010 swarm area. What hell is is called, Madison Plateau, right. I don't why I keep forgetting that name. I am not good with names. Maybe I should find this Madison guy and then the picture will stick in my head. I'm usually excellent with faces, but someone recently was completely different from the image in my memory. Maybe I'm old.

Here's the kicker, well, the half-hearted punt- it's a new moon, which is just like the last swarm there. But this isn't a large swarm by any stretch. That's why I am calling it a flurry. Now I want an ice cream. Branding works there for me- I remembered. Funny stuff that marketing. So, this is just a head's up to keep one eye on Madison Plateau because there's some burping.

Since then, the caldera has been subsiding, though seasonal deformation from ground water changes may temporarily mask the trend. Please see: www.uusatrg.utah.edu... for a map of GPS stations in the Yellowstone vicinity. Tried to do a bit more research on the temps but there is no temperature data available anywhere in the park right now. Just makes me more curious. I have been unable to find info elswhere, but I will keep looking.

I read speculation that the temperature spike at Vixen was caused by melting of the frostline. Well the graph that was posted here shows that the soil temperature never got below freezing. That theory is busted too I think.

USGS

Just saw this on my android EQ app - shallow depth too, only 4.1 miles.

Looks like it's NW Wyoming, sorry for my ignorance but is this where the supervolanoe is located?

Reason I ask is because on USGS they list the location as 'yellowstone national park' and I've never seen that before.

Yes! This is where she is. Yellowstone (and where the caldera is) is mostly located in the north west corner of Wyoming. However, parts of it do cross over into Montana and Idaho. Including the "volcanic" activity... as there are lava rocks (still growing) out of the ground, and other things of that nature, in Idaho & Montana.
