The study of any natural process is not something to ridicule. A lot of really good, acurate information is posted on here.

This thread, and the Quake Watch, Volcano Watch, and other like threads, are here to provide people an outlet for questions and commentary.

Those of us that follow Mother Earth find these threads to be very interesting. For those that don't find these threads interesting, move on.

Deny Ignorance!

You sir are not as much of a jerk as a liar. You could not have read the 620 pages or you would have seen its not all freaking out but a curiosity and discussion about Yellowstone and its activity. Sure it hasn't blown up today, but someday it will and that someday could be any given day.

Yes there is people that freak out in here from time to time but its generally met with a logical response that helps the poster understand the subject better in the future.

belittling the thread because Yellowstone hasn't blown up is pretty silly, if it blew up we couldn't have the discussion.

If you want to be a jerk, that is your right, but I do not think you were being one, hence my nice response, until your second post.

This thread is interesting to those who study seismic and volcanic geology. No need to subsitutue Ignorance, for what you call being 'Coooky'.

Those that post on this thread do so because of their individual interest in Yellowstone. If you do not like what you see, why bother to be rude? Trolling?

"i said i was bein a jerk no liein and if you wana talk facts and knowledge uhh this aint it". From your grammar, emotional response, and lack of reading much in this thread, you obviously do not care about the study of one of the world's largest calderas. Again, your right to do so. But try to not show off your educational level too much by being too 'coooky'.

I thought the most intelligent, and relevant part of either of your posts was, "and im gone.....".

What was the point of all that? I demand some periods in that sentence/paragraph! If you don't want to read this very large thread with endless "coordinates" just..DON'T! Problem solved!

Yes, 620 pages - 621 thanks to you and most likely 622 because of you - wasting space. Have you read them all those pages and the wealth of knowledge contained in therein? Let us start with what is going on at Yellowstone. Now - what is the name of the Thread? key wording here "What's going on" - You say nothing? Now how could that be - let us skim the surface = 76 quakes this past month, a quiet month so to speak and that is only what They have accounted for to date. Then, there is deformation/subsidence - do you know what that is?.. They are studying wide deformation (hey folks - any of you have info on this?) - now why would They be studying this? Did you know there was major uplift in the lake/park prior to this? Did you know there was a lake? Did you know that we just had the second largest swarm recorded in Yellowstone at the beginning of the year? Why was there major uplift then major swarm and now wide deformation? - I assume according to your thinking and as stated - there must be nothing going on at Yellowstone other than an active volcano - and let us not insult her - Super Volcano. Do you know how to read a graphs and seismic instruments? Do you know how to tell a true quake in Yellowstone or interference from an external source on the instrument? Do you know what the sounds of the quakes and breathing volcano make? Did you know that because of this thread the USGS and the Department of Interior who follow this as you so nicely put it thread of "pseudo excitement" - Give better updates and know that we are following Them to make sure Their information for the most part is on the money? - Guess what - the contents of this thread covers all of that and oh so much more! Yes, Yellowstone is an "Active Super Volcano" and it will go off - and that dear Troll could happen at any time, with or without warning and, I will be here to follow every breath she makes, study it, post it, etc.

So, now that I have skimmed the surface of the Thread, if you have anything else to say, please do stay on topic and make the contents of your posts something others can learn from. Defy Ignorance! Spread Knowledge! and Have A Nice Day or Be on Your Way!

you go girl !

im sure we had our differences in the past but i must commend you as to being informed and a excellent poster since then .

your way better at this then i and iv written some good posts and added a decent amount of information here as well.

let u s say that we at least share a common interest here and that is following yellowstone and her every breath that she makes as she will erupt , its just a matter of when and pinpointing the warning signs ...

I also have been monitoring this thread since it woke up at the end of 08.
I will say those of you that have remained diligent in updating the activities are nothing short of great additions to the thread.

I, as many whom have been listening to Yellowstone have a cautious concern about a possible burp in the future.
However, there is a side of me that is trying hard to be rational and stick to " not in my lifetime"

That of course is difficult when there is SO much going on globally,. a warming planet, for me equals magma temperature rise, which causes expansion then requiring a need to release somewhere.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but it seems as if we have seen an increase in volcanic activity old and new. And because of that theory I base my concerns of Yellowstone. I only hope the system that feeds the caldera at Yellowstone has an alternate opening somewhere in the world.
Cheers to all of you that contribute .
Puterman. nice job on the thread all the links.

Wow, you really hate science, don't you. Based on some of your most recent, non-fact threads, you just want your opinion heard, and want to crap on everyone else's.

ATS is a conspiracy site, but it is one with a motto: Deny Ignorance!

The only way to do that is to study data and find proof. Which is the point of this thread you Troll.

And I am glad you own your business and have employees. I also work and do well. Poor grammar must be your choice then, not because of a lack of education.

You screamed and ranted in this thread of yours:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Than you made this thread and ignored it:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

You made this thread with no sources (and I even gave you one myself):
www.abovetopsecret.com...

And made this thread from a Web Bot prediction, again without a source:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Based on your threads, and lack of attention to them and especially a lack of research or sources which is what we are suppossed to do on this web site, all you care about is getting a rise out of people.

You are just bummed cause this thread does not meet your emotional criteria, doom and gloom sensationalism.

Sorry Troll, any of the science threads on here are important to those of us who post on them, because of the knowledge we learn from the scientific data and from our peers.

Good luck to you, your company, and your employees. Do you spell and use grammar with them in the same manner also, or is it just us?

Woah, yellowstone watchers, look at this webicorder:

quake.utah.edu...

In addition to the really interesting signal before the 4.8, looks like several aftershocks that have not been recorded on the map yet, some of which are definitely big enough for automatic placement.
