Thank you Hx3 - all so very interesting..
Has anyone made a wav file out of some action taking place at Redoubt?

Unfortunately it appears that most Alaska Volcano Observatory seismic stations, those around Redoubt in particular, are not publically accessible from both GEE (for real-time viewing) and VASE (to download the files for the .wav conversion), so I'm afraid that's not possible at the moment.

Coolness...they're talking about Piezoelectric activity being generated from atomic decoupling with microfractures associated with ULF precompression waves, all we need to do is stick a ultra ultra sensitive voltmeter probe down a few miles and measure...

Sorry I have not been very clear. I actually meant access to raw seismic data (which GEE uses to display seismograph traces in a semi-realtime manner), not webicorders, which I have been watching since the volcano advisory status went orange.

I suppose what I’m questioning is this:
If tiny cracks were occurring within the rock under YS lake creating a friction based electrical current that, once it reached water, traveled around the lake; could it cause distortion to the seismograph creating a rouge signal in the YR output near LKWY or is that as far- fetched as the aliens trying to warn us by creating the signal? Also – a great article on YS lake seismic features.. www.rcn.montana.edu...

Piezoelectric Current is probley not measured on any equipment that they use on a regular basis, but, from time to time I suppose they could bring in specialized Equipment for tests/measurements? Well then again they measure in Micro & Nano...

Great...
Stocking up on supplies.
Alaska, Japan.. Will it be Mt. Rainier next or Mt. Snt. Helens, maybe Mt. Hood.

ARG

Cascadia Subduction Zone = plate boundary between NAM and JDF, surfaces at trench
a few quakes/year > Richter magnitude 2. depths 20-80 km (only source of deep ones)
last big quake: 26 Jan 1700 about 9 pm, most of CSZ "broke"/ruptured (whole fault....)
know date and time precisely because of tsunami recorded in Japan.
maximum: very large 8 to small 9, one of largest on Earth we know about
1949 and 1965 quakes (both 6.7 ±) along CSZ, as well as 1999 Satsop 5.2

Asamas last big blow 1783

*I live next to a wild life area and the Geese took off in droves and droves of V formations this pm. THOUSANDS!

I go bed now....
Night

hehe Asama is rather active actually and it's most recent eruption was in 2004. So far, so good. It's only a small one. But, it has already erupted.

ROFL Yeah, but I still don't think YS is gonna do anything for a long while. Just cause of how everything's been. But, -gets binoculars and goes watch for aliens with Robbie Williams- Now THERE's a conspiracy.. Maybe Robbie and the Aliens are plotting to make another album.
