I actually have to use this webcam (bottom link if it works) often because the one at nps.gov doesn't often work at all for me so in my ventures found the cam for OF at the site below. Looks very pleasant now ... not a cloud in the sky nor any people weird I say very quite....

well i see all is calm and all is well with yellowstone, but i believe as pressure continues to build we will see more swarms of earthquakes within a few weeks

YMV, too.

I want to say it is a technical glitch. It is weird that it isn't showing on any of the other stations, even in a small way. I don't know why that would happen to that many stations at a time, but it did once before. (December 4th, I think?) Anyway, I guess we'll see what happens...

Yep, wait and see.. Eeek - hope it was not a little steam burp from an underground chamber or something along those lines..

YMP @ 20:15... a little quake.. So much small activity lately it's hard to coordinate..

I think it might be some form of error or calibration.

On all the sensors that registered the event the red timeline takes some time to go back to it usual position and rhythm.

At least I hope that is what is was.

Yep..lets hope.. Several things I dont like about this lately.. Does anyone know what the temps have been at YS over the past 3 weeks? Has it risen to above 32 F for any duration? I was looking at still images from 30 days ago and yea, the snow has melted notably around the OF location - living in a snow locked enviroment 6 months of the year I know the only thing that could melt all the snow is high temps/rain/high winds mixed with warmer temps or PERHAPS the ground temps rising.. I also dont like the tiny spikes sparking all over the webicorders - like rock fragmenting spikes eh..? Also, why does the lake graph keep going off line? Uhh, I think they would have that fixed by NOW.. Please share your thoughts..

It got well above freezing there earlier this week, people were walking around in shorts (to be funny.)

The ground very near the Geysers has historically been very hot.

That would make total sense but why would the error effect a few but not all and not JUST the one the pulse was sent to?

I can imagine it is very hot with all that steam :-) but can we get a cam shot of other locations in the park to compare, perhaps other vents of massive steam explosions?

That is my concern too, but they are so alike that I believe they must be something other than seismic in nature.

Maybe these particular graphs are on the same network/power grid/wireless or something like that and there was a power surge.

I dunno, just thinking out loud.

Most of a squashed ring. Empty in the middle. Activity confined to the perimeter, none in the center.

Even if that were where the activity were located, the stations in the middle should be able to pick up something that big and that close by.
