Did it cross anyone's mind that even agents could be posting their "mental health" experiences here, and then using that as proof that ATS/conspiracy theory sites cause mental health issues thus need to be shut down? It crossed mine

At the same time, I do think that ATS/other conspiracy theory sites could act as an enabler of the paranoia/mental health issue in *some* people.

Not bad so far, but you need to have Kobi's body turn up if you want to engage audience concern with your character's safety. Also, a bit more humanisation. The dog bit is nice, but a bit contrived. Perhaps a person being mugged that he gets out of the car to help. He falls into his trance and when he comes out of it, the street is empty, but to him it seems like things just disappeared.

I wouldn't bring Atlantis into the story this soon, either, it over fictionalises it too early. You want to hook the reader early with the sense of utter credibility, then they'll be ready to swallow anything.

I like it so far, though. Have you tried to get any other publishers, or is this your first attempt?

Thanks for the info there, it's interesting, Can't seem to connect to raven1.net but I will try a little later.

To be honest unless you know something of great importance, or you have said something by "putting your foot in your mouth" I doubt "They" would spend money tracking a civilian unless there was grave concern and/or what they conceive to be "a good reason." (and trust me 99.9% of the time there isn't)

I don't see the reason to fear unless you are 100% sure and proof positive someone is following you. It could be just someone sizing you and your dwelling out in order to rob it/you.

As for paranoia , it hits a lot of people who travel the ATS road, just keep a log book of incidences, and ask a friend for their opinion on the matter, because a lot of times an outsider will see things in a more logical sense due to the fact they are not going through what you are experiencing. It always pays to keep a friend nearby for their outlook on the situation.

In my previous reply, I was speaking in regards to the soul. Throw me a science theory that can describe your soul.. Throw me another theory that describes how many servers it would take to mimic the human brain? Our bodies are only a transport for this dimension. It seems the majority of your story surrounds paranoia and trance like states. I believe these two greatly play on each other. Your friend's theories such as the Gray's are controlling the government are completely unfounded. Believing such theories with no scientific evidence to back them up is the beginning of forming a delusion, and separating you from what is reality.

Your trance like states are most definitely triggered internally. They are often called day-dreams. Since you and your friend like to discuss particular conspiracy theories, lost worlds, and the unknown anomalies on Mars; you therefor are going to day-dream about these topics. This is why when you day-dream you see Atlantis, and when another person day-dreams they will see Angelina Jolie.

The best advice I can give you is to take all conspiracy theories with a grain of salt (including those of which your friend is telling you). The most important part of being a conspiracy theorist is to back up your claims factually with evidence using scientific theory. While your friend is most presumably very reassuring in his claims, take the time to do your own research and allow yourself to consider both sides of these claims.

These types of delusions and paranoia have not been conclusively linked to psychological disorders, but in my own professional [unprofessional] opinion I would advise great caution before believing in this alternate reality.

Note on Vista: This operating system has a massive amount of bugs. I will outline a few things you should do for maximum performance.

1. Right click on desktop and go to personalize. Change the Theme to Windows Classic. It's ugly, but will increase performance by at least 30%.

2. In the same personalization window, click on Window Color and Appearance. Make sure the color scheme is on Windows Standard rather than Windows Aero, or Vista Basic.

3. Make sure you have a reliable Anti-Virus and Firewall. I use free PC-Tools Antivirus and free PC-Tools Firewall. They have both proven to be excellent programs, and the updates are also free.

4. Right click on the Start-Menu and go to properties. On the Start-Menu tab change it to Classic Start Menu. Below this are two check boxes. Make sure both are un-checked so that it does not display recent activity.

5. In Firefox, Tools-Options-Privacy, check "Always clear my private data when I close firefox", then click on Settings and check all of the boxes. Now un-check "Always ask me before clearing my private Data" as this prompt will get annoying.

6. If Windows Side-bar is still running, Right click on it and go to properties, Un-Check the box that allows Side-Bar to start when windows starts. Side-bar may be convenient for some (I don't know who), but it takes up valueable system resources including your internet bandwidth, memory, and CPU load.

Thanks for the advice. I dont think you understand however. I met this Kobe guy for the first time. Well he talked more about creation. He spoke more in regards to The Book Of The Dead. He was pouring his info with me like if I had no knowledge. All I asked was who he thought made it to the moon first.

This is what you do if you are feeling your being watched or recorded. You put out fake information about yourself and do things that are either the the exact opposite then what you would normally do.

Remember that the longer a agency or group that's conducting montoring has to watch B.S. the more likely they are going to go montor someone else. This is where porn has a good effect people that take there job's seriously hate looking at porn because they think there doing a good service to there country when most of the time there being used.

Distractions like that keep the fed funding money for a opperation or montoring that has no right to take place. Then the investigator or monitor has to monitor someone else because they have no intel on you or what intel they do have on you is fake and if your ever confronted or unlawfully arrested you get the last laugh because all the intel they have in there little folder is fake information.

If your interested or like listening to rock music you just got interested in country music and you will learn to like it why you are being monitored. That way if your ever picked up they cant break you because you already listened to the music you didnt like before you were ever picked up.

The more money that get's pumped into any investigation that drag's on the longest especially if the information being gathered is fake they more the fed has to pay for it in the long run including people that are private investigators.

If you get mail each morning at 7 am you now are going to get it when you come home from work. Remember that a fed or investigator has to play your game by monitoring you 24 hours a day. So changing your schedule at random and a few other tricks throw the fed off track.

The biggest thing the fed hates more then anything is a waste of there time on government expense. If you can cause the fed to waste there money trying to prove you didnt do anything wrong you then have grounds to either sue the agency that came after you or the next time a group like the fbi or another agency goes to get money from the federal or another government it has to ask for more money for investigations.

Then you have for instance a 2 year survalance case on for instance you that has nothing but b.s. in it and when the approperations committe has to go into congress and alocate the money that was spent they spent X amount of dollars on "John Doe" and got 100% of b.s.

The more that takes place the more the fed will lose intrest in investigating people that are doing nothing wrong and they have to then worry about back lash from the public because they for instance have to explain where did all the money go in the 2 year investigation of John Doe.

And they go to look at the John doe Investigation and find that not only is there no usefull information but they found for instance you looked at tranny porn for 4 hours a day when you in reality would have never looked at it if you were not under investigation and new it. Then the government has to explain what investigator got paid on government time to look at tranny porn for 4 hours a day and also why they were so intersted in your activities.

People can only look or watch you for so many hours a day someone that has 24 hour survalence watching them usally has 3 or 4 people on them so they can take break's watching that person they are montioring or recording.

The longer the fed or investigator get's B.S. the more likely they are to call off the investigation. Its also a good idea to know how to push there buttons why there investigating you things that upset there investigations or derail them means that they have to spend more money and the more money you can cost them the more likely they will get there funding pulled because there not getting good intel.

The number one thing to do more then anything when dealing with things like this is give them what they want to hear. The longer the spend tracking down people that arnt going to blow anything up the more likely they are to spend thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars to look for something thats not there.

For instance now everyone in the united states according to alot of people at the batf and justice department are "terrorists" under the new patriot act. So if thats what they call someone who send's letter's to there state or local government's you dont send one letter you send 50 each month. The reason is the more attention they pay to you the more people they have to send to you to figure out how to make you go away.

The only thing a fed hates worse the b.s. is piled up b.s. the more people finding out about something thats not surpose to be taking place the more likely they will give up montioring you or someone you know. For instance group a meaning the investigating team made of 3 people all of a sudden gets a visit from department a with 2 people wanting to know what group a is doing.

If there doing a illegal investigation and are found out by there offices they can get fired for conducting such act's aka john ashcroft. If you expect the local police are investigating you you call the fed, if the fed is investigating you you call the state if the state is investigating you, you get them fighting over you then you win because they will be so busy trying to figure out who started what they will start to lose evidence.

The more people you get on you the better they are trying to break you the trick is to break them.

I will try to be respectful with my response..as opposed to my first instinct which is to make a glib remark about paranoia.

There is an excess of input in our day to day lives...news, information, visual, auditory, reading materials etc..

Our personality or view of the world must filter the input down to what we believe is relevant to our given moment in life or situation.

In times of preoccupation with a topic (conspiracy) it can give the illusion that a succession of strange and somehow related things are happening when in actuality you are just mistakenly magnifying trivial day to day life events.

If you become preoccupied with the idea that someone is following you or are being watched...you will start to selectively attach greater importance to plainly unimportant events while giving less and less credence to the likely mundane explanations and it can become a self-perpetuating cycle.

Shift your focus to something positive that interests you. Maybe exercise or a good (non conspiracy related) book. Give ATS a break for a while.

listen. i know this is only my opinion, but then again thats why you posted this, to get feed back.

i think you have been spending to much of your time on this site or others like it, i think you should take a break from conspiracy sites for a while and try and relax. plus missing time? i lose track of time all day, it doesnt mean a thing, everyone does this. the trance like state you describe is probably due to lack of sound sleep due to these paranoid thoughts, so like i suggested, take a break. Trust me, i would stake a lot of money on the fact you are NOT being followed or checked on by anyone. its all in your mind
