I honestly dont care about stuff like that. I feel without internet the truth is everywhere anyway. It's up to the "spectator" to decided if it's reality or not.

It is in my opinion that it can cause/contribute to short term paranoia. Possibly long term if you have a history of mental delusions.

I'm not insulting you - you wouldn't be the first person to become paranoid due to ATS.

Other posters have said much of what I would have, but I will add this: use others, who you interact with, to gain feedback and ground your perceptions. Don't be 'oblique', ask them directly. If you feel you've been 'missing time', and that might be more common than you realize, directly ask those who you interact with if they've noticed anything that might confirm you've been 'zoning out', or otherwise. Phrase it however you feel you should, but be direct and honest. After all, your concerns aren't hidden or shameful.

I dont zone out in public. Sometimes only with my wife. Most of the by myself.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be more careful next time.

I dont have any mental issues. I thought I did so I faked a head injury to get a CAT Scan. I'm perfectly fine. I even got a check up not too long ago just incase. I'm not an internet junkie if thats what your asking. All I do is burn CD's. Thanks for your input though

I hope you don't take it as an insult, as I truly am opening the stage for discussion surrounding your experiences. Paranoia however is considered a mental disorder. This technically could be what you are experiencing if it were unfounded by solid facts and debate.

Which opened the question to whether or not ATS has caused such paranoia; an entirely possible scenario.

I had an ex girlfriend who thought that she was constantly being undermined by an unknown group of people. I tried several times to show her that there was no one in the world who had any reason to do so. She still insisted that there was some evil cabal out there plotting against her and spoiling any good fortune that came her way. For example she was a painter and got a lucrative deal to paint a picture for an unknown person. A few weeks after painting the picture, she was sued for copyright infringement. She of course blamed the evil people behind the scenes who were out to get her and ruin any chances she had at fortune and fame.

When I wondered where all this paranoia was coming from I spoke to her mother to see what she thought about all of this. Her mother told me that she thought that there were people listening to their conversations using lasers and that their internet was "tapped" and that there was some sort of law enforcement tapping their lines and listening to their conversations. To be really honest I couldn't think of a single reason that anyone would want to do this. They were both artists, not highly educated and far from having anything secret going on. I explained to her that they weren't doing anything illegal, so there was nothing to fear. Even if someone was listening to them, what could they possibly gain from this.

The relationship eventually went south and time moved forward. Still to this day I get messages from her on my voicemail in the middle of the night whispering that someone is out to get her and that she needs my help. The only difference since then is that now its a world wide conspiracy instead of just a local one. Its funny how the scope of paranoia changes with time. All in all the lesson to be learned here is to really think: What would anyone have to gain from following me, tapping my phones/internet, listening to my conversations, etc. The fact is that for most of us there is nothing to be gained. So why would any agency waste its time or money on you to watch you go to Taco Bell or buy a pizza. Its not anything against you as I can understand how reading much of what is on ATS could make regular things seem "strange" or "odd," but at some point you really have to be honest with yourself and decide what's the point of being worried all the time?

Hope things get better for you, and if you really still believe you are being followed my best advice to you is turn the tables...take a camera/vidcam, a notebook and start logging every time you think its happening. The proof as they say is in the pudding.

Oh now THAT is just so hilarious

Mainstream media telling us people listening to sites that expose mainstream media lies and cover ups have 'mental health issues'

That is sooo funny.

To the OP

Want to know if someone is following you? Two ways..

1) Get a friend to follow you way back...

2) Stop to look at a store window... then reverse the way you came... stop at another window and look back

Sounds to me like this guy Kobe you hooked up with might have you on his list. Joined any new 'groups' lately?

Him I would watch...

Or you could just confront whoever you think is following you. That would be my choice. Generally speaking, when people are trying to be covert, overt counteractions tend to be the most effective. Just a thought.

Actually here's an interesting question, does the trance like states usually occur in the same area?

Oh and have you had your house check for unusually high EMF readings?

It's just another possibility as high EMF can produce paranoia, delusional thinking/reasoning etc.

High EMF's appear to interfere with the neurons in the brain that transfer information and can cause results like this. Pro longed exposure is also believed to cause pro-longed paranoia symptoms. Cheaper digital alarm clocks tend to give off very high readings as mine peaks out an EMF meter, so sleeping right next to the alarm clock is not recommended.

I'm just trying to rule out everything I can think of that could cause this besides actually having a mental illness, or someone following you

That's the thing. I dont know if im being followed. I dont think theres a group of people out there trying to control me. In fact I feel like I can tip the scale my way. I feel I can control situations not people. There's just things that I've experienced that I'm holding back. I'm just scared of facing the possibilities that are out there. In other words I know there's more then what we see in a daily base.

I know I'm not the only one who sees things differently. I think it all depends on how your world is delivered to you.

It's true when they say "God has a plan for you, before your even born".

There is some truth to it. There can be a great danger in letting your life become completely absorbed by anything, be it conspiracy theories or more mainstream pursuits (say your career); without another pursuit, just to let your mind take a rest, it can lead to mental health issues.

Not sure I'm understanding you... being able to control situations and not people? So maybe people are not following you... but you're feeling manipulated... or pushed in directions not of your own choosing... by some unknown.. unseen force of some kind?

The weird stuff started about 2 weeks ago. I went to Wal-greens @ 7:50 (I've was checking the time all day, like if waiting for something) bought my D'gorno and I started heading back. It normally takes about 5-10 mins to drive back home, but their was a lady at the register giving the cashier a hard time. After I payed for my D'gorno I looked at the time and noticed the time was 8:22. Damn!

[edit on 15-12-2008 by Solo954]

D'Gorno?! At Walgreens?! Man, you paid, like, a 300% premium. If you only had traveled another mile or so to your nearest Wal-Mart, you could have bought the same pizza at 1/3 of the cost. There's the crime!

On a more serious note, ever have a history of absence seizures?

Sure there is... but that applies to anything... Those people that are subject to that effect would get it from somewhere else if there was no ATS...

But you could be right... I mean I see some skeptics are so paranoid that the minute you post something they scream hoax or BS... before they even read what you say

Maybe we should have a warning label like on cigarettes..

A CAT scan will not reveal mental illness. You don't have to have something physically wrong with your brain in order to suffer from mental illness.

It sounds to me like you are suffering from paranoia and looking for reasons to self-validate what you think is already going on. We are in 2008, any real tapping or computer tracking would absolutely not be noticeable by you. Those types of surveillance methods have not been noticeable to people actually being spied up for over 20 years.

Kobe starts talking about Illuminati, Nibiru, Moon Mars so on. Then he tells me he believes the Grays are controlling the government.
As I was driving I noticed alot of cop cars in front me and no cars ahead. Like if pushing traffic back, or making way for the cop car.
A red van drives up next to me. I started driving faster, he would catch up and drive next to me. I slowed down he would eventually let go of the gas little by little and fall right back. A weird feeling set in like if something was about to happen. I made it home safe and sound. The van next to me followed me all the way.
Besides the usual paranoia that I think I have. I see 1 taxi cab every 5 blocks. I see when they park at any gas station (Even if closed.) and another taxi cab drives off heading a different location.

If the cops are blocking off the street for these folks, then it must be these folks that this guy had run in with for short while:

www.freewebs.com...

They also like chase around with infinite number of things, from taxi cabs to dogs, to you name it. They chase me around, too... and if they decide to step it up, it gets much worse.

I think that they just want you to relate your experiences so that you sound crazy and everyone here (on a conspiracy website) just says you're crazy and need help.

These folks use advanced technology and do just about anything.

Unfortunately, I know of no way to get these folks out of your hair. Haven't figured that out yet. Just ignore them, and don't open your door for them... that's all I've got for you. Sorry, dude.

Hi, what is it you think you could be doing that someone would want to follow you for?
I realize you cant discuss illegal things on here but have you been involved with anything that you think might warrant some kind of investigation?
You do realize just knowing or even talking to someone named Achmed marks you as a terrorist?

Get yourself a weapon... learn how to use it... If i were you make a police report the next time someone in a vehcile plays this game..Say you felt threatened by them.. get the tag # On the vista thing its been known and proven that theres a back door.. Install XUBUNTU its very easy and has every equivelent of windows progs on it.. you can even run basic windowsp progs on it.. it is open source which meants thousands of people have inspected the code and if there was a backdoor it would have been closed.. Don't know about the trance thing.. perhaps its a "spidy sense" lol start meditation .. ( i need to do it myself) If a vehicle starts intimidating you like that call the police right away.. Even if the cops cant do somthing about it.. its the fact that a goverment plate or front for cia would be on record.. keep alert!! That guy at your work sounds fishy...The fact that his into the koran.. sounds like the dude may be trying to entrap you later on.. all he needs is for you to say yes to his ideas or agree on the concept... and thats it.. watch out!
