I will be certain to show the same respect to Obama that has been shown this President by all of the Bush haters here. Anyone who laughs when the leader of their nation is attacked on foreign soil needs to move out of America. As for you non-Americans: perhaps you should tidy up your own backyard before worrying about mine.

Keep your shoes on my friend! Is it really worth getting the rubber glove treatment from NSA? Just write really mean letters to Congress and the White House on Obama. Don't risk a hefty term in a federal prison.

Last time I checked Mexico is now our backyard and Canada is fast becoming our front yard.

What can you do with NorthCom taking control of security, Spain will be in charge of the super highway from Mexico through the U.S. up to Canada.

It is out of our hands now and it all resides in the purviews of the diplomats.

I just hope Obama can turn this recession around before he leaves office so we can all relax a bit and remember we are still human beings.

Luv It...

that's old-school Theater, stuff like the above Zappa would have done,
and like the zaney Yippies would have done too...

if not for the fact that all us Yippies used all our energy at the Pentagon Levitation exercise back in 1969, many more shoes would have already been aloft

Soo many funny quotes, and comments, though I am surprised no one has said that he should not give up the day job and go to the circus as a Knife thrower!
would go through quite a few assistants I think.

That thought got me to thinking again about something I posted yesterday, do you really think he planned this or was it just impulse?

Now if he planned it, as people practise with target's with Pics of their most despised person on there, like many did when younger with darts and air/BB guns...

Well we can now allow ourselves to Picture the scene , a little known Journalist at home, with a Picture of Bush stuck to his door, trying to hit it with his slippers or shoes at 10 yds

The comments too also some quite strong ones from both sides.

I have taken this as humour, though obviously as Mike Sing has mentioned it does break some peoples acceptable modes of behaviour in such settings.

Anyhow what is interesting now is that the Iraqi Authorities are stuck between a Rock and a hard place.

They have to criminally punish this shoe thrower.

Though I doubt if normally if this happened to someone in work or the street and the shoes did not hit, you would be not even taken to the Police Station. Given howr the gravitas of the target they have to do something....

However a folk hero truly has been born:

Iraq rally for Bush shoe attacker
Thousands of Iraqis have demanded the release of a local TV reporter who threw his shoes at US President George W Bush at a Baghdad news conference.

Crowds gathered in Baghdad's Sadr City district, calling for "hero" Muntadar al-Zaidi to be freed from custody.

Officials at the Iraqi-owned TV station, al-Baghdadiya, called for the release of their journalist, saying he was exercising freedom of expression.

BBC News

I am sure one of those banners says free shoes for life for our hero

Kind Regards,

I cite the Simpson case and elaborate further:

If the shoe does not fit, you must acquit!

He had to speak non challantly about the event, he had to save face. As FOX puts it, "It was one of those.....
isolated events,......" Well, too bad thousands of them took to the streets with their shoes in hand burning American symbolisms, etc. That was shown on tv as well.
He truly doesnt care that he has earned the award for one of the worlds most hated people, He actually enjoys that status.

In a way think its a sad thing for Americans, to have a president of my nation be disrespected so..but gosh darn, he has earned it, really.

May he just go away soon, is all i can say.

I have a feeling that as I go through this thread, I will learn a lot about people who post here. Violent people are part of the problem, not the solution.

Don't care if this is a one line post.

Yet another example of the problem. How sad.

the poor reporter who threw the shoes at him. I hope they go easy on him.

Now comes the apologists who condone violent acts and sympathize with the person who committed the violent act.

We lead by example people. If you use violence to communicate you are part of the problem.

Thats a very good question. Why didn't he throw a bomb?

This thread appears to be revealing just how violent people really are. Condemn others for their violent acts and then propose blowing them up for retaliation. Not much hope for the future of our kind, is there?

It was found that the reporter was actually part of a greater terrorist attack here he is doing a jihad dance before he was sent on his mission!

As you can see from the video he has been stock pilling shoes for years and was prepared to fight to the death!

I could never ever picture a shoe being thrown at R. Reagan, or Bill Clinton.

I dont like violence, nor do i approve of it, but you have to know by now that the man who tossed his shoes at our president, LOST MOST OF HIS FAMILY (according to news sources) during this Bush war. Imagine yourselves in his (no pun intended) shoes.

Imagine, if you will , if the shoe were on the other foot, and they invaded us HERE.
What hit the president of that country would NOT have been a shoe, but something much, much worse.

What an ugly mess our president has created all over the world.

I think the violence started with "shock and awe" don't you?
Are dead Iraqi's just collateral damage and don't count as the recipients of violence?

You hypocrite!!

So who is part of the problem and not the solution?

LOL....I am sure he planned it. Even if he has to do some jail time he will still be a hero in the entire Muslim world after this. Sheesh he could probably get an anchorman position at Al Jazeera.

The shoe thrower will be fine.

LOL...the news showed his 7 or 8 year old nephew saying "Let my uncle go or I will throw these shoes at you too!" while holding a large pair.

I can empathize with that man, but I can not condone his methods. I understand him due to his culture, but that does not excuse those posting who seem to love violence.

This was a staged event, a PSYOP to promote the war effort. It comes at a time when we are getting smarter and looking towards the perceptions of the middle east of our nation's leaders. Does the Arab world approve of Obama or are they afraid of him, for example. If the Middle East still disapproves of President Bush, then our military should stay in Iraq and finish business until, say, 2011. Remember the tearing down of the statue of Sadam?

You obviously misread my posts. I'm against all violence including that done by Bush and the Terrorists. They all hold responsibility. If you are for violence to solve problems, then I include you in the problem. Violence has never solved a problem it only causes more.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what he gets for totally going to war with a country who was not responsible for 9/11, was not hostile towards America, did not have WMD, and had nothing to do with the war in Afghanistan. Too many civilians died over this man.

This is true. Geroge Bush has the blood of a million Iraqis, most of them children, on his hand. But keep in mind that Bill Clinton has got at least the same body count in Iraq.
