As long as the general population backs Hamas and their Iranian backers in causing terror in the state of Israel through terror I say................Let them eat cake.

And as long as the Palestinian population is denied the bare basics for leading a humane life, they will be forced to offer their support to fanatics.. kind of a self-perpetuating evil.

Hamas can only offer more of the same.. more death, violence, division.. only Israel has the power to truly make a change.. but they won't, 'cause they never intended to coëxist peacefully.

ufoor, when you say as long as the people back Hamas let them eat cake what do you mean? If Hamas or any other organsiation be it teorrist or not ias the only way for the Palestinian people to survive are you saying they should just give up their homes and land.

Where does one draw the line, if you were told to give up your home and land, all your possesions by an invading force how would you feel. If your only means of fighting back was to use terrorist means would you not do it. Its not well known that during ww2 there were Jewish terrorists or as I like to call them freedom fighters. Are you saying that if the Jews rather than being persecuted by the Germans and others had decided to fight back that you would have disagreed with them. That by right the conqueres had a right to rob and murder them in the most horrible ways.

Israel pulled out of Gaza (taken in a defensive action) and handed it to the Pals. The Israelis didn't have to do this. Now look at what the Israelis get, daily missile attacks on Israel proper, after Israel unilaterally pulled out of Gaza and forced its own people out. Stupid stupid stupid Gazans to take the piss re Israels offer of land for peace, when the IDF go in proper style to sort out these Jihadists the general population have nobody to blame for the actions of Hamas but themselves, they voted in these Islamo fanatics through the democratic vote.

They did withdraw troops indeed.. now those same troops are used to starve the population, I can't say I see an improvement really.

like the fishing example: Israel put it's signature under a treaty giving the Palestinians the right to fish in waters up to 20 nautical miles in the sea.

Then they go and shoot up fishing boats at as close as 3 miles out of port.
This action alone has ensured the supply of fish dwindled from 3000 tons to 500 tons, and the fish they do catch are undersized 'baby' fish mostly.

How is this conduct promoting regional peace and stability ?

For the God knows what time - Israel does not occupy sector of Gaza. For several years! There are no Israeli settlers in sector of Gaza. There was no blockade on sector of Gaza at the beginning,until Hamas took other by force. So what is the reason for rocket/mortar/bullet fire (before blockade and after)??? Territory around sector of Gaza is Israeli according to UN partition plan. So it was not "stolen" from anyone.
If there would be no rockets - there would be no blockade. But you justify the rockets - then you have to understand that Israel needs to respond somehow and it it or full-scale invasion that will take cost of thousands of lives or pressure means (aka blockade).

Zero, its not just about Gaza, people are splitting hairs here its about the whole thing. Before Israel was Palestine, it was mentioned in 5th century BC, the Palestinians were not just looking after it whilst the Jews were away elsewhere. It was a country in its own right and before ww2 there were very few Jews livng there After ww2 the exodus from Europe started and the rest is history. The Palestinians have been fighting for their land ever since.

Ever since the foreigners carved up the land and as usual set in motion a conflict to last for decades. The Jews have a right to exist and a right to a home but so do the Palestinians. They know their land and homes have been taken from them and they are fighting back the only way they can. They do not have a massive armed forces backed by a despot nation. They are fighting for their very existence so why is it right for the Jews to have that right but not the Palestinians.

The Pals got the land on the condition of peace, land for peace. The Pals now use the land for anything but peace! Hour by hour rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza, now this means land for no peace. What did Israel gain by forcing its own people out , handing the land to the Pals and now suffering daily terror from the Iranian proxy called Hamas in Gaza?

Peace has to come from both sides..

People who have work or attend schools outside the concentration camp should be allowed to travel.. fishermen and farmers should be able to ply their trades without fear of being shot at, etc..

What peace does one have if the lands they deport you to don't have the means to support itself, and if trying to travel to a hospital beyond the demarcation zone is seen as a suspicious act when your wife is in labour ?

I have no question about rights of Palestinian people to live normally on their land and not have to eat grass. I have all the questions about Israeli's responsibility to take care of citizens of hostile entity that fires at Israeli citizens before their own. Palestinian well being in Gaza is mainly responsibility of Palestinian leadership. And if there is a bad evil Israel choking Palestinian civilians i think that their (Palestinian) leaders have to do all they can to stop it. Like make a "huge effort" and NOT fire at Israel.
As for country Palestine (5bc, no less) and Palestinian national identity - this is fictional, i am afraid. There was never independent Palestine, there was never Arab independent state in the borders of Israel or Palestine, there was never nation of Palestinians before Zionism gave birth to it. Current mess started after BRITISH province of Palestine was cut in three parts.Before it there was Turkish province with totally different border and totally different name. And before that it was a part of .... And ctr and ctr. Never independent - except Crusader kingdoms and Judea/Israel. If you can show me that zero knowledge factor played a role and i am wrong on this - i will stand corrected of course.

Sure peace (love) is what everybody wants. Iran must give up on supporting Hamas in Gaza and Hizbollah in Lebanon. It must also give up on nukes. Syria must make peace too. Lebanon must be free of outside influence that threatens Israel. When this happens then there may just be a possibility of peace between Israel and the Pals. Until then forget it absolutely because Israel itself will be at stake. This thing is a very complicated and fine balanced reality.

Could the places being bulldozed also be the places where Hamas launches their rocket attacks? Starved to death-- show me the stats.... Wouldn't surprise me if Hamas has all the food under lock and key. Once again, tell Hamas to deal in food not arms and people wouldn't be starving.

How considerate of you to use the children to prove your point. Don't it bother you that these children know more about weapons and killing Israeli than learning how to coexist with their neighbors. You act as though these are the only children who suffer. Look around, there are children suffering everywhere. It isn't their fault that they have a damn government that cares more about getting weapons to kill Israelis than they do feeding its people.
