What about the Baptists belief that you must be baptized to get into heaven? That's an outright lie as well. Not only because there is no actual heaven other than the one at hand, but also because there is no real scripture that backs that up.

Again, I ask you to prove that there is no heaven. There is not no heaven, you just believe that there is no heaven. When you tell your son that God is a lie how can you be sure? Do you know He is a lie or do you just believe that He is a lie?

I guess you can only handle one at a time.

let's take this.

Catholic Priests will tell you that Holy Communion is NOT symbolic. It is an actual transformation into Christs Body.

Now... is that true or a lie?

I don't know. No one does. Do you?

I'm sure some people believe that it is an actual transformation and some people do not. Personally I don't think it is. Does that make it true? No, of course not. I don't have that answer, nobody does.

According to you, we could test the bread after ingestion and see if it's made of male DNA.

I bet you it wouldn't be. What's your gamble?

Look... you are the one saying Santa is a Lie. I'm telling you that Clergy lie every day, and somehow you think parents lying to children about santa is somehow different from priests lying to you about the actual transformation of the bread into a body of a 2000 year old person.

I say if you are calling Santa Hogwash, then Jesus is just as much Hogwash. If however you want respect for Jesus or whatever God you assume to be in power, then you should also respect Santa, and those who believe wholeheartedly in him.

Anything else is simply a doublestandard based on an over pious view of one's self. Which btw is against most religons.

You think Jesus is "hogwash" because you don't believe in Him, isn't that it? I doubt that you actually know the answer.

So tell me, objectively: Can you prove the existence of God? You are telling me the clergy lies every day not because you know the answer, but because you don't believe it. Just because you don't believe in God doesn't make it true for everyone.

Yes, I can prove the subjective existence of God. Simply because you are convinced of his existence.

The objective existence of God? I can't prove that any more than I can prove Santa Claus exists objectively.

But I am CONVINCED that both exist 100% in the subjective mind of those who believe. Paul thought the same thing... Romans 14:14

I know you think that if someone doesn't believe in God it doesnt make it true for everyone.. but just cause you don't believe in Santa doesn't make it true for everyone either.

You simply wont respect the beliefs of others.

So objectively you can't prove Santa Claus? You can't go to the North Pole? You can't watch your chimney Christmas Eve and see who comes down it? You can't talk to your parents and ask them? You can't use any kind of radar to detect anything "magic-based" flying in the sky?

Umm, he said 'Jesus' not God.

Why you say God? He not say it.... only you do.

Strawman.

Not anymore than you can prove the objective existence of God.

I told you that the North Pole was an allegory... Santa is really an interdimensional being.

I suggest we respect eachothers beliefs.

Some believe Jesus to be God.

I for one believe he was. Can't prove it though.

yes... don't you?

I believe in Santa Claus just as much as I believe in Jesus. Perhaps because both were the important aspects of Christmas for me as a Child.

And perhaps because my stepdad has been Santa Claus for children for over 50 years, and he still believes in Santa.

It's not a belief that Santa goes to every house.. but that you might catch a glimpse of him making a simple miraculous journey to one deserving soul.

You will respect that right? Because it is my belief? Even though you don't share that belief and think it is hogwash?

I doubt that you believe in Santa Claus.

After your little performance back there with magic gods and talking donkeys it seems more fitting that you're just saying that you believe in Santa Claus to prove a point.

I do not believe in Santa because he isn't real. Just because you believe in something doesn't make it exist.

Actually I have a lot of serious beliefs in Santa and God.

But just as the Zen master was quick to throw the wooden buddhas into the fire on a cold night, much to the dismay of the owner of the inn who thought it was a sacrilege, I too will throw the idols of those into the fire if it helps bring light to the hypocrisy of another.

I'd burn a bible in a second... because it's simply dead trees. The words within it though are beautiful.

As beautiful to me as the words in the legemeton, or Book 4, or the Bhagavad gita

You just don't get it do you that others might believe Santa. As I mentioned before. I do.

"Just because you believe in something doesn't make it exist."

Nor can you have anything you want if you only just 'want it bad enough'.

He substituted GOD for Jesus and tried to win an argument... and I'm not religious, I just can't believe the gall he had in trying to pull such an obvious Strawman maneuver...

I declare you the winner of the Debate.

I really don't see the difference between God and Jesus. Jesus was simply the physical Incarnation of God like Krisna was the Physical Incarnation God.

I know there is debate about that, but that'smy belief.

I do get that some people believe in Santa. After your talking donkeys bit I just find it hard to believe that you believe in Santa. Who else believes in Santa besides the 3-11 age bracket? (And more importantly, they believe in Santa because of what their parents, the media, and the Christmas industry tells them)

And since you believe in Santa, I assume there is a Santa Bible, right? Something that documents his existence? Or at least tells a story, right? Sure he used to be an actual person, but isn't there any kind of document about, shall we call him, commercial Santa? I know people are quick to not believe in God but even Christianity has a Bible. Where else do people get this stuff about Santa?

Nope.. No Santa Bible.

Santa is real to me on the same level God is because I lived in Ohio where it gets dark quick. I suffer from SAD which doesn't mean I get depressed in the winter, it means I get really mystical and also in a funk.

So the winds as they blow through the trees and the snow blowing across the fields always conjured up the thought of Santa more than Jesus in an arid climate. So I always pictured Santa as an emmisary of Jesus. he said another would come in his stead, and so I figured Santa was simply another manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

I even heard him... on the roof.

And to make it worse... the song, Up on the House Top was written down the road from where I grew up (New Paris Ohio).. and it was written BY A PREACHER. So, obviously Santa has a place in my religion.

Because I used to go to the same church, and because my mother remarried Santa Claus from back home, I feel I have a special link to santa somehow.

Why else do you think I would sit here defending Santa claus if I didn't at some level believe in him?

"I really don't see the difference between God and Jesus. "

Then you probably can't see the difference between Caesar and Roman Empire he Represented.

Life must seem so confusing for you.

*Unless of course you are simply shunning all common sense and reason in order to win an online debate, which is sad.
