Your reply wasn't to me alone but you didn't address my question either.

If they were targeting westerners, why didn't their plan include a means of capturing as many as possible. Then maybe American's and English were an afterthought.

The boat with ammunition that is claimed to be Nigerian...was it a plant? The 'reported' motive doesn't make sense for this. If indeed it was part of the plan, why leave ammunition behind. Did they think they wouldn't need it or they could go back for it.

Perhaps they are highly trained and just want to make a big show to instill as much terror as possible over a relatively large area.

I haven't thought about this enough and I am sure there are other possibilities. I am just trying to put pieces together and not jump to conclusions.

Am getting increasingly worried that emergency responders are going to either be attacked by gunfire or bombs left behind. Anyone else expecting this?

This could have to do with India sinking that Somalian pirate ship a week or two ago. Those Somalian pirates have been getting better and better at stealing ships recently. Maybe they are being propped up by some hired help or someone has muscled in to get some profit. These attacks in India could be a distraction to focus attention away from the Gulf of Aden and to send a warning. I advise someone to get to the bottom of this very quickly. The world should not be pushed about by those who are out make a profit off of terror, war, and crime in general.

Interesting that they blame the mumbai ATS on their earlier youtube warning , then go on to take out the head ATS man along with 2 to 4 other top policemen ( depending on sources) , of a total of 11 policemen killed . Sounds like they might have had someone on the 'inside' to target a select few individuals . Wouldn't be easy to take out such a high ratio of top policemen in a semi chaotic situation such as this , more likely a pre assigned task to a nominated hit man , maybe working on the inside.. maybe not . Still , be interesting to know the circumstances under which these 3 to 5 top policemen got hit . Unless they were leading their men in a kind of horatio nelson type of disregard for enemy fire.

Please be more careful in your response. I said I thought the attack was "organized and coordinated". I took exception to the word 'HIGHLY', as well as posts by others implying it was an elite force.

BTW, I did not call myself an "old woman" but an older woman.

Those that think it can't or won't happen here in the States or in Europe proper, I hope this is taken as a wake-up call.

india has had these attacks before, and i think it is going to be a problem for a long time. attacks on western people in all parts of the world are going to pick up. chaos is good for the war business, and keeps societies occupied with fear and reprisals while the wealthy keep control and at the same time make alot of money. if you keep the middle class and the poor of the world busy with making a living and fearing for their own lives, they have little time to confront and challange the people in power, to make this world a better place to live for all of us.

the solution is obvious, but is impossible to carry out. and that is what is so frustrating for the majority of the peaceful people of the world. the only thing i can say is that if an ordinary person from one country meets a person from another country, treat each other with respect and kindness and realize that particular person had nothing to do with how you have been treated in your own country, or your own personal hardships. it has always been the leaders of our countries that make it hard on all of us.

I'm not sure if I read this wrong on CNN but it said that the terrorists fled in Govt vehicles..

All in all ,this is a very tragic event and my heart goes out to those families whose loved ones lost their lives.

The fact that there are two boats loaded with explosives points to the expertise/finance

From all experience they ARE highly trained. This is not the kind of thing that can be pulled off by rag tags

I am not claiming to know what's going on. I just know that a force like this is not 'run of the mill'.

How on earth could any citizen defend themself from 16 groups of highly trained individuals armed with grenades and ak 47's?

Look, I'm sorry if I offended you. I don't mean to be mean, but I know better.

I have trained, EXTENSIVELY, on just this sort of situation.
This is EXTREMELY well organized and put together. Put together with surgical precision. SOMEONE is not only making a statement, but doing so quite well.

Yes, while gun control laws are a bad idea, you are missing the point. Foreigners in a hotel aren't going to be carrying glocks, even if it is legal to do so.
