interesting. it seems like an aircraft of some kind, but shows impressive maneuverability. Lack of sound may or may not be important -- hard to know how fast or far away it is.

could be an aurora-class black op, or something like that. cool.

Also (never thought i'd say this btw) full kudos to Fox for also publishing the long version

Planets do get farther from and nearer to Earth, depending on where we are in our orbit and they are in theirs

I keep thinking of an interview that was conducted way back in 2000 with renowned researcher Dr. Jacques Vallee. He stated this fact, that may be related to this and other "UFO sightings" of spherical shaped objects.

Dr. Bob: Throughout your book, Revelations, you note that you have knowledge that the American government has created UFO-like craft as a type of monitoring device. Could you elaborate on these craft? What do they look like and ...?

Dr. Jacques Vallee: I think this is again, something that most ufologists have trouble believing. That anybody who follows for example, Aviation Week or Defense, Electronics or any of the high-tech magazines will actually see photographs of those things. I mean, some of them are, I'm sure some of them are classified. But many of them are not, for example, there are small spheres about one meter, you know, 3 or 4 feet in diameter, that can hover, they can move in any direction, almost silently or in some cases silently. They are used as ranging devices. For example, if you are going to fire a missile over a certain area in a battlefield, you need to know the exact direction and range of the target. And you're not in direct view of the target at that point, these devices will carry lasers and ranging devices that will identify the target for you and guide the missile. Those things have been, you know, technically achievable certainly for the last ten years. These can be used for reconnaissance, they could carry a camera. They're essentially platforms, remotely piloted platforms, that can, that are highly maneuverable.

Remember folks...UFO does not mean "alien". Keep looking up but keep your feet firmly planted on the ground.

UFO's seem to warn of pending or coming disaster or they show interest in large scale events.

They were around as Foo Fighters in World War II

They were at or above Nevada/New Mexico when they tested the atom bomb and nuclear fusion

They have buzzed Government nuclear storage facilities for years

Some even say they were at the World Trade Center just before 9/11

Now there have been major multiple sightings in Stephenville, Austin and other areas of Texas over the last 6 months - also they were spotted flying into restricted air space over Crawford - home of the Bush family

So it makes you wonder if something big is going to happen in Texas

Keep your eyes out and be prepared, these objects could be observing maybe even surveying the area in its pre-disaster state.

I have thought about this for some time and it just makes sense

I live in north-central Austin. I have never seen a UFO, but I have seen numerous meteors, meteor showers and comets. I am also familiar with aircraft lights.

In the evening of November 20, 2008, I was in my backyard grilling a steak. I believe it was around 7:00 PM. I witnessed a very bright plate-shaped object appear almost directly over my head and drift slowly to the south. The color was bright orange, almost like the space shuttle and ISS appeared together over Austin a couple of nights before. But this was much larger and moving in the opposite direction.

As the object moved behind some trees it started to zig-zag rapidly to the left (east) and to the right, thus removing any doubt in my mind it was under intellligent control and not a ballistic object. I lost sight of it behind the trees. I didn't think too much of this until I started seeing the TV news reports about Lancaster's sightings.

If I had to describe it as anything, I would say it could have been a UAV(Unmanned Arieal Vehicle) used for reconnaissance. But why would a recon craft glow so brightly? This makes no sense, therefore I am at a loss to explain it.

So many stories covering UFO's all over the country lately. They did a story on UFO's in general on my local news in Rhode Island last night and I can't remember them ever straying into that territory.

Could something big be around the corner? Only time will tell.

I didn't think this was worth mentioning really but since we're talking about UFO sightings and Austin...

On September 30th I went to the Geek Austin party at Union Park with a couple of coworkers. (Union Park is a club next to Katz's Deli downtown on 6th)

We were up on the roof when something in the sky caught my eye. About seven gray objects in a 'V' formation flew silently overhead.

They were all in perfect formation, silent, and smooth (no flapping of erratic movement). I don't think many people noticed them because they were fairly dark against the sky.

I pointed up and said something right as the formation flew behind a tall building somewhere on the other side of 6th street. One of my coworkers managed to spot them and comment too right as they disappeared from view.

The most likely explanation would be birds of course but I don't think that's what we were looking at. They were too large and moved way too smoothly.

Update

My son charged the camera and tried it out. Audio only, no photos. He'll be over here in a minute and we're going to Sears to buy a new one (we need one for family vids anyway). The store is two minutes from our house, we'll get a good one, sorry, didn't know his camera was having problems.

But, we'll end up with a better one that I can keep 'cause I'm paying for it, lol or not so lol,

Like Odd Thomas sees those shadow like things. Cant remember what he called them. Sorry I love the Odd Thomas books and your post made instantly think of them. He always see these things when and where there is going to be death. Ok sorry if I got off topic!reply to post by arizonascott

Being from Austin, of course I hope you're wrong. IF applicable, rhetorically-cryptically, is it possible said disaster could be (at least primarily) caused by a certain percentage of ordinary enough people? Sorry I can't be more specific, but I know there will be enough Austinites (and others) reading this thread who know exactly what I'm talking about... I have a substantial history of unexplained experiences. My next blog entry will be the rest of the experiences of which I'm comfortable enough making public.

Okay

We got a Sony Hybrid Handycam with 2000X digital zoom and 40X optical zoom with Nightshot Plus which uses infra in some way the salesman couldn't explain. Also got a nice tripod for it, 4 gb memory card and mini dvds. The battery has been charging for about 40 minutes now, hope it doesn't take much longer. Should I use the memory card to record or the dvds?

Lol, I'll be out on my back porch every night now, this is great!

If nothing else these threads let people in certain areas know that they need to be on the look out, camera ready. Good job OP!

Sounds intriguing, but we've heard the same kind of stories before, haven't we? Even if eye witnesses continue to see UFOs and catch them on tape there is a good chance we won't get any conclusive explanations.

So far nada, I'll go back out in a minute or two. The clouds are thick, very low and it is sprinkling on and off. I saw on the net that the two guys who filmed them are very close to my home so I'm pointing the camera their way.

I have *NOT* been a believer in such things.. the reason for this has been that I am an avid sky watcher... I love the night sky and revel in the beauty that is to be found in it, yet never have I witnessed anything that cannot be explained rationally.

I live on the outskirts of austin and those who have followed my posts will know that I do not say this lightly. I am changing my view. I have seen quite a few strange things in the skies over Austin Tx the last few weeks.

I was on the phone w/ my best friend a few weeks ago and we were just telling each other goodbye when I saw what would appear to be a plane flying low in the night sky. The thing that seperated it from any plane that I have personally seen is that it was flying *away* from me, yet was flying EXTREMELY slow; almost to the point of hovering. The lights on it were different as well from any lights that I have seen on airplanes (again, AVID skywatcher here.. am out about 4-5 nights/wk gazing at the sky). Even my BF knew how much of a skeptic I am concerning UFO's and encouraged me to get a video of it. However, like most I have been avidly opposing, I did not have my camera right next to me and was too entranced by the object in the sky to leave it and get something in which to prove the validity of what I was witnessing.

Since then, I have seen numerous (for lack of a better term) "blasts" in the skies here over my hometown. The only way I can explain is to say that it was something that would appear out of nowhere as a star for a few seconds and then be gone as quickly as it appeared.

Do I believe that these are UFO's? I am not ready to make any declarations other than there is something happening in these skies that I have never before witnessed in all the MANY times I have stared at the night sky here.
