A US research center on nuclear weapons has urged President-elect Barack Obama to press Israel to halt production of its nuclear weapons.

The Institute for Science and International Security, headed by David Albright, one the world's top experts on nuclear weapons and the prevention of nuclear proliferation, recently released a report over the danger of producing nuclear weapons in the Middle East.

The specter of nuclear war is very real when considering tensions among middle-eastern countries and their brutal racketeers, Israel and America. Israel is the only country on earth that refuses UN inspections of it's long-proven nuclear arsenal while not being a signatory to any nuclear restriction treaties and while threatening their neighbours with destruction. Instead, the US Media lackeys like Hitlary Clinton threaten to wipe out innocent countries like Iran over their behaviour inside the bounds of these international treaties. The situation in the middle east is the most gigantic example of systematic media manipulation and propaganda in human history. Even politicians advocating "change" like Barack Obama fit in the warmonger chorus of people ignoring Israel's criminal activities for the sake of the US Empire's world domination and racketeering schemes. As long as this furious injustice in humanity's face isnt tackled by the next administration, there is no point in calling the US a "democracy" for electing another criminal to office.

I think it would be impossible for the U.S. to get Israel to get Israel to halt it's development of nuclear bombs, especially in light of it's neighbors in the Middle East to destroy Israel at the first and earliest opportunity.

A) What makes you think anyone wants to destroy Israel? Keep in mind, Israel is the one threatening the destruction of countries like Iraq, Syria and Iran, and NOT the other way around (even if our western media like to smokescreen that fact)

B) Doesnt a convential military comparable to that of France or UK provide already enough protection ? What do they need the nuclear bombs for ? And why are they not being inspected, if their role is "only self-defense" ?

Clearly, the notion of a strategic 'self-defense' weapon is nonsense.

The proposition that "mutually assured destruction" deters war, isn't defensible.

Nuclear weapons and delivery systems are exclusively 'offensive' in nature, and if you are going to make the claim that other countries like Iran and others are 'threatening' because of their development of such weapons, then you can't deny the same 'threat' is being carried out by your own government.

This is about money. The military industrial complex, as it has manifested itself in Israel, is no different from any other. War (or the 'threat' of war) = Profits. Just asks the bankers.

In the very simplest of terms, Israel’s nuclear weapons are the counter balance to the Massive Muslim hoards that would pour into Israel and happily murder every man; woman and child, if they did not have nuclear weapons to counter balance this.

First their armies would be vaporized, then their cites. They know this very clearly, that is why there has not been a major war-many smaller ones-to the end.

The moment that they think that they (Muslim countries in the M.E.) will not be destroyed, they would attack killing all.

So, currently there is “MAD”. The Muslim countries have the mass numbers of people and Israel counters this threat with nuclear weapons.

Yet again, you fail to understand history and make extreme generalisation of an entire religion. Let me explain why Israel has nuclear weapons:

Israel's President Peres wrote a book in the early 90s, "The New Middle East", and he explains why Israel had to acquire a nuclear arsenal. After the Six Day's War, the Israeli government concluded it could not afford or provide a significant army to continue fighting invading Arab armies - so nuclear technology was provided.

The Israeli government is extremely nonchalant to nuclear and chemical weapons. Allocation of a nuclear deterrent is explicitly only for the protection of borders. Britain and French believed a nuclear armed Israel would end hostilities in the region and force recognisation of the Jewish state.

As for "Muslim nations in the Middle East"; Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt are all secular via their Constitution - so was Iraq. Gaza is the only section of the Middle East under a radical Islamic administration - West Bank is controlled by the secular wing of the Palestinian movement (PLO was openly secular). Oh, and the Islamic Republic of Iran too, but majority of Iranians are secularist and reformers - Iran will go secular when the reformers take control.

You clearly know nothing on religious affairs, international diplomacy, Middle Eastern politics and public opinion. Read or purchase any book by an Israeli politician in the last 20 years and their character, beliefs and virtues rejects the extreme ideology you promote.

The acting Prime Minister of Israel, Tzipi Livni, refused a coalition offer from a minority Zoinist group. Why? Because Tzipi Livni refused to have an orthodox social policy and declined to pass legislation to declare Jerusalem "Jewish and Jewish only".

So, even the Israeli government disagrees with you mrmonsoon

P.S Jerusalem recently elected a secular Mayor who promised to expand social programs into the Arab East Jerusalem. So, the "truth of the matter" is a fallacy.

Seriously, you think nukes are stopping any muslim country from invadeing Israel? The only thing that has kept Israel safe for so long in the face of their blatant crimes, is the USA. Saudi need the USA to keep its economy alive (only the corrupt King and princes are to blame for this), also since most the smaller countries could not take on Israel and the USA, they have to refrain from any sort of military action towards Israel.

But guess what? Hezbollah do not apply to the same rule, they do not give two bits about the USA, for they are true muslim and only fear the one who is deserved of fear, Allah!

Add to it other less important people like Iranian president and dozens of his "misinterpreted" Zionism regime remarks -(by the way his country pays for same Hizbollah that is mentioned in the "sacking" post), Hamas leadership, 1948 war with intent to not allow UN plan for establishment of Israel, 1967 pre-war attitude and messages in media of our peaceful neighbors, 1973 war and media messages.. See - there is at least a small justification of paranoia.

Why should i credit the misinterpretation of Ahmadinejad's statements as more than it is - willful disinformation of the american public by the MSM with intent to fortify the status quo of US/israeli dominion over the middle east ?

And what problem do you have with Hezbollah ? It's a resistance movement credited with ending the israeli oppression and destruction of innocent lebanese civilians during the first lebanon war. Isnt it pure humanitarian duty that makes Iran support them ?

I agree on that point. Israelis are way too radical and fanatic to be allowed access to nuclear weapons. Even israel supporters in the USA, who in general are only hyped up fans of the zionist regime show a very concerning degree of lack of understanding for moral and humanitarian issues. That's part of their illness.

Israel has had nuclear weapons for nearly 40 years. You tell me they haven't been responsible with their arsenal, given the number of times they could have used them. From day one since the creation of the Israeli nation they have been attacked from all sides. MAD is working for Israel and in that role they are defensive systems.

BS. Taiwan has no nukes, and China is still deterred because the US has a pact to protect them. Same could easily go for Israel, and should. The less nuclear weapons in this powder keg world the better, and we really have no grounds whatsoever to press Iran if we are not pressing equally on Israel. They are our allies, and we should stand with them and send any "muslim hordes" running with their tails between there legs, but there should not be nuclear weapons anywhere in that area, they are not necessary and can only domino into much worse scenarios.
