Mate, you think this is bad, the maoris and pacific islanders in new zealand treat their children like this on a daily basis, it's common practice amongst them to bash babies. you may just think "typical blacks", but the sad truth is, this is fact, it is common for maoris and pacific islanders to bash babies to death.

I don't care what anyone here at this site will have to say to this comment. This person doesn't need a trial by jury or even a judge to convict them. They need to be taken out into a field and have the living crap beat out of them, and after they have suffered the same as that innocent child, THEN AND ONLY THEN somebody needs to take a gun and blow there brains out. They have no right to be on this earth if there going to treat a child like that. What would possess somebody to do this to a child? What could that child have possibly even done to deserve any of that treatment?

it has been revealed today on the news that a whistleblower wrote to various agencies and health ministers 6 months before baby P died stating that Haringey Council continued to put childrens lives at risk.
Shockingly, the lessons to be learnt were pointed out in the Laming Report (the inquiry after Victoria Climbie died) and were obviously not learned. It is all vey well to have inquiries and reports which cite the lessons needed to be learned but there is always a repeat.
There are too many incidents where lives are put at risk because mistakes are made. Beverly Allitt, is another shocking case, where a woman was allowed to work with babies, even though she had a history of mental illness and it ended with the death of several babies. In fact Beverly Allitt had personality disorder.
If any one is interested it is worth going onto the Zito trust website, these are mostly fatal incidents where mentally ill people have not had sufficient supervision and aftercare and have killed civilians.
Only yesterday I was told to take 2 personality disorder patients (both sectioned) to a small market town to have their hair cut. We should have had 3 staff to take them but only had enough staff to take 2. I was later told to keep quiet about this because the Home Office must not find out.
Not only have we risked the public, but have broken the Home Office requirements to take these ladies out. I am ashamed of the company I work for.

Rest in peace Baby P, Victoria Climbie, Lauren Wright, 2 babies in Manchester etc etc.

The sad thing is the mother has been sectioned and sent to a secure psychiatric hospital where she can have her own room ( dignity), plenty of food warmth, comfort( human rights), trips out (because she has a right to access to the community) family visits (because she has a right to a family life), she will probably have staff with herall the time so she can be entertained, she can also kick s*** out of them as and when she feels like it, with probably no consequences. It is tough life in a 5 star prison.

Yet more indications of the social decay that has beset that beleaguered isle.

Doubtless the offenders will receive the severist punishment available under UK law - no chocolate for 2 weeks.

Any right minded nation would have thrown a rope over the nearest tree.

Rest In Peace little one, now they can't hurt you any more.

I've heard about that.Their attitude is,'its our culture and we sort out our own problems.' Obviously not if children are being abused and killed.

Updates on the case of 'Baby P.'

Inspectors raised concerns with Haringey's social care services months before the death of Baby P, it was revealed today.

www.independent.co.uk...

A whistleblower at the council claims her concerns about the potential for child abuse in Haringey were "pushed from pillar to post" by the Government.

Ann Walker said that if her concerns had been taken more seriously the 17-month-old would still be alive....

Ms Walker, 42, who looked after Baby P during the final five months of his life, said she warned social services that he was "dying".

But she claims her concerns were not taken seriously enough and social workers appeared to have been provided with "explanations" by the child's mother, she claimed.

I really wish I had not read that story.

If ever there is a time to use the death penalty it is for people like this.

In fact, should I meet someone who opposes the death penalty I will direct them to this story and then have them explain to me why these "people" should live. Because to me they are not people. They are inhuman.

I am not impressed with all the calls for death, torture and revenge for the ones who killed this child.
You can be mad at a rock for being hard, but that isn't going to change anything. You can kill these persons, but more will come along. You will have done nothing to solve anything.
Anger directed at the system, on the other hand, is very legit. Something can be done about that. People in authority who did nothing to prevent this should be punished. Procedures have to be put in place to PREVENT any more deaths.
Government and its agencies must be held accountable. There must be oversight.
That will cost money people. We will have to pay, and we will have to get involved. Each of us. We just can't leave it up to "them"; nor can we just go around killing. Good grief!

I can't tell where you're from from your screen info, but based on the content of your post you just have to be from the UK.

When a rock is hard, you crush it, or you move it, otherwise the road never gets built.

When diseased people kill innocent children, you execute them. This achieves the following:

a. Protecting other children
b. Removing the financial burden of incarceration from the host nation; and
c. Setting an example to others who are currently abusing their kids

What's the average sentence for murder in the UK now? 15 years and out in 7 for good behavior.

You deserve all that you get, so good luck with all that.

Would you believe that this woman is actually pregnant again......sorry for the annon post....too busy atm......This has horrified a nation. Almost as sickening as the vile acts of this depraved couple is the total lack of commitment to rectify the errors made in a previous, similar case a few years ago. I just need to say that a few posts have been wondering about UK society in general. I think there is a lack of repect and a faulty moral compass issue, but to judge a nation on this is a bit too much. however I understand it...we're always harping on about the US and guns so I guess it's human nature.
As for general crime..I personally believe it's the government of the UK not doing enough, not being hard enough on our " Yob culture" ( young, knife wielding, drinking tearaways) that is the problem....and I believe they do this intentionally to keep the public in fear...to bring in more cameras, ID cards etc etc.

So, if I say 'hmmm, you appear to be for the death penalty, you just have to be from the US', it means what exactly? I mean, other than an ridiculous attempt to stereotype a whole country. You're obviously so blinded by your own blood-lust for revenge that you've obviously missed the posters from the UK also wanting the people responsible for this disgusting act tortured and murdered. Or didn't you think they could possibly be from the UK because it didn't fit in with your stereotyping?

You deserve all that you get, so good luck with all that.

That's pretty pathetic.

You know, if you've such an issue with the laws of a foreign country, instead of trying to be superior with some random poster on a message board why don't you email the respective government and air your views there? You know, the people who can actually change laws? Why say "you deserve all you get" to someone who didn't create the laws of this country as if they're somehow responsible for them and they're at fault for following them?

As for their actual post, they make some fair and accurate points. Do you disagree with their point about wanting the people responsible punished? Do you disagree with the fact that the people in authority should be punished too? If you killed these particular people, as wayno said, more child killers would come along. Or did the first executions in America stop all future/potential paedophiles, murderers and rapists?

Realistically, even if these people weren't caught, how likely is it they would have killed again anyway? Can you prove these people are serial killers or would kill any future children they had or are you just assuming? If you executed these particular people, what "other children" are you protecting exactly?

As for the setting an example: yes, that really works in America doesn't it? I mean the fact that so many places have a death penalty already actually stops murders doesn't it? I mean, murder is unheard of in places in America with the death penalty!

i wish i had not read this story either. i read it when it first popped up, and now everytime i see it in recent posts it pulls my heart apart, i have children and i cant imagine doing this to any child.

it is down right disgusting, a poor defenseless child, being abused, abused is a soft word for what this child had to endure. everytime i think about it, it brings tears to my eyes.

as for the death penalty, it doesnt really matter now, but to keep these people from doing this to another child, they probably should be put down.

This is the most shocking story i have heard in years. I am truly hoping that when Brown get's back from the State's he will endevour to close the council down completely and have it run from centRal government. There are too many dodgy councils here in England that seem to run by their own agenda. They waste taxpayers money are arrogent and untouchable. Now it should change. Right now!
What concerns me aswell is the lack of medical attention this child had. For Gods sake where were the health visitor's? Who was his GP? Heads should #ing roll over all this. I am fuming and too upset to carry on typing at the moment.
I get the impression that with all the woe's of the world and the terrible thing's that go on, people just don't care anymore. Let's face it it's such a # world for ordinary folk, no one listens anymore and no one care's. Then the good ole BBC put on children in need! What a cheek! They have'nt even got the courtesy to tell us where the money go's. Every year it's the same, inflated ego's, who if they all put their money in their pocket would'nt need to beg off the public in the name of TV or make ordinary people make pratts of themselve's!

I know we have our issues here at home as well.. it just seems like a pressure cooker over there in the UK right now though.

Am I mis reading the situation or is that about the size of it?

Your not miss-reading anything. The situation in the Uk is progressively getting worse. The law seems to protect the criminal more than it does the victim in the UK.
Our laws and Sentencing are becoming a joke. Not too many months ago, one of our top Judges declared that murderers are spending too long in prison. This from a Top Judge!!!
The sentencing is a joke - because of the Human-Rights idiots murderers can now appeal against which prison they are sent to.
I`m afraid the UK is becoming a gun/knife/drug controlled country because the laws are to old and the sentences are more of a holiday.
The prisons are a like a holiday-camp, and many prisoners do not want to leave prison, because they get four square meals a day, exercise, TV, Pool Tables, Gymnasiums, telephones, all the comforts of home and they don`t pay no BILLS!
The Uk is really getting ****** up.

your last comment i find a little harsh. Its not the fault of the UK citizens or its victims, its the governments. WE know this, and most you wil find most believe that murderers and paedophiles deserve the death penalty. The law is crap - we know it,! what can we do??!!! so great you are basically saying, ha,bloody, ha!

Update.

Baby P’s mother and her sadistic boyfriend were yesterday ‘named and shamed’ on the internet.

More than 5,000 people joined a Facebook group which carried the evil couple’s names, together with photographs, under the heading ‘Look at their faces, remember their faces’.

www.dailymail.co.uk...

A very well done to whoever posted it.
Maybe now the fear will creep in and they won't be so smug about themselves.

Waitingsolong

Yeah, you sum it up very well.
I've worked in various prisons in the north west of England and they are similar to as you described. They're a joke. But the law is an even bigger one.

Here's another case that shows you how ridiculous, and dangerous, the law has become.
