I wasn't talking about the quality of how he spoke. I was takling about the substance. You guys are the party of Facists, do you even remember the last 8 years. I, at least, can admit Democrats are Populists/Socialist.

These next four year will no doubt be the most difficult challenge we have faced as a nation (and no I am not forgeting ww1&2) but this time the enemy comes from within and I am not just reffering to President Obama but his entire army including General Pelosi and her forces.

But we have to tuck and roll and land on our feet so that we can continue running. We have to hold our personal honor in face of all these odds and never forget who WE are. There is alot of us out there and instead of becoming like them we need to become BETTER than them and hold ourselves to a higher standard.
And one way to do this is by respecting the honor and office of the Presidency.

Hang tuff brudda,
you are not alone.

IT WAS A BBC DOCUMENTARY! It wasn't hollywood, it wasn't liberals, it was ENGLAND! So until you find orders from the Prime Minister to assassinate Bush this is just more "I hate Obama because he's black!" BS. Also, you republicans said questioning the President was Treason under Bush. Let's see how long before that turns in to "The Founding Fathers questioned the king so its patriotic to question Obama!"

Well, at least you understand where I'm coming from. Thanks for making an effort to see that and not writing me off as most of the others on here have. It's appreciated.

I agree that change was needed, but, my God - a Civilian Defense Force?

I am willing to bet all of my ATS chips that you don't know what he was talking about. *no quick research*. Fast, tell us what it is?

Sure do. Very same thing Hugo Chavez implemented in Venezuela to help fend off invasion of outside forces. Where do you think he got the idea?

I'm guessing every nation which has a militia or national guard analog. Next thing you know you'll be arguing against having a military.

Everything you say is anti, anti, anti. Therefore you have no real opinion, simply a predictable repititive rant.

A fictional investigative documentary? So I suppose the "Blair Witch Project" was also a documentary by your definition?

Oh is it?

In addition to this, Chavez has amassed a "2 million-man" civilian defense force to stave off attacks that he claims will inevitably come from the United States.

From This BBC Article: news.bbc.co.uk...

We know that Ayers and Chavez are linked and we know that Obama and Ayers are linked. Obama throws out this idea of a CDF and says it's for national security.

I will NOT respect Americas new president just like I did not respect the last president. These men are crooks and liars and to believe that they actually care about YOU is insane. I am an American and a true patriot.

Sorry, that was off topic. I'm not answering any more questions on this topic. I've said my peace and only the OP has made an effort to understand where I'm coming from (publicly in threads anyway). He/She is the only one that has displayed a truly open-mind in this thread. The rest of you say I'm the problem with America? If that's true, then your closed-minds are just as much to blame.

A civillian defense force like... The National Guard? Wait, what I love is that he's "going to take our guns!" but then he says he wants a nationalized force of Americans. Hmm, sounds more like he wants us to have guns. And with a civillian military force millions strong it will make it hard for say, a President to declare himself king, no?

Let me re-iterate myself. Do you pay attention to what you say? I have plenty of conspiracy theories floating around my head, trust me I have my doubts. My friend Elliott won't let me forget it either. But I have hope in this new president, as tired as that campaign line is.

You're the one who says he's not your President, hate to break it to you anybody that studies politics, and I do mean academically, would disagree with you no matter what party. Even Karl Rove admits that.

When I was referring to the press conference today. I was noting the change in how the President deals witht he press core, besides the idiotic questions about Iran and the puppy. The frankness and openess with the press and thus the nation. Is refreshing to say the least, especially with the last administration who didn't answer questions to the press. Essentially had a media black out, and I quote 'works in the shadows'.

And the whole civil defense is obviously in the same light as the Peace Corps. In trying to inspire volunteerism and service to country.

Yes, we should respect the office of the president.

Lets see what Obama gives us before we start slamming him??? Also remember that he has got to shovel tons of maneur and these things cannot be done in 1 day.

Also, you all better hope and pray that BUSH doesnt decide to pull a fast one..........sort of the swan song. He and his thugs are VERY capable of anything.

This is the hypocrisy that I am talking about. In the same sentence you agree that we should respect the office of the president and then you add that little tidbit about President Bush (yes, he is STILL your president and you should respect the office as such)

You can start by reffering to him as "President Bush" since that is his proper title.

Im sorry, but do you RESPECT the CURRENT President?
I assume you do not; therefore, you have lost respect or never had it.
I see a little hypocracy based on whom you like verse whom you dont.

IMO, RESPECT must be earned - and it can be LOST.

Obama won.
Wether it was done legally or not legally only time will tell.
Will he be a good president? probably not.
Will I speak out and debate the choices and decisions he is going to make? Yes.
But...

Will he have my respect?

YOU'RE DAMM RIGHT HE WILL.

Because no matter who is president, he is OUR president and he will be repected as such. I will not allow or stand idly by as others from foreign lands or within our own, criticize the man that holds the office of President Of The United States Of America.
I believe we should share our views and opinions on the choices and decisions he makes but personnally attacking the man and his family is unbecoming of true Americans.

President Bush is a prime example of this.
What many of you in our country did is shameful and appalling and you should be better, WE CAN BE BETTER. I expect foreigners in other countries to be disrespectful but when we join in and speak so lowly of the man that his own mother would cry, well I think we crossed that line.

I am not a supporter of Barack Obama or his ideas and I did not vote for him and never would, but I will be the first one to stand up defend his honor when the office of the president begins to get undermined.

I hope many of you will follow my lead.

Godbless,
and hold strong, four short years will soon pass.
There will be a REAL conservative that will rise from the ashes
and put the Republican party and this country where it needs to be
FAR TO THE RIGHT.

You have earned my respect, well I don't know if that matters or not. But for the silly little children who are being so immature to say Obama's not their president, if you're living in the US, then he IS and there is nothing you children can do to change that. Get another citizenship and abandon your American citizenship then he will officialy not be your president.
Adults acting like children... what has the world gotten to. You are a spectrum of a democratic society, you are not the Americans, you are an American, the Americans has chosen their president, you either are an American and respect this, or find another place and citizenship.
