It is my belief that there was a HVT, or operation, in that vicinity and the US decided to act. [Elf Act? wrong adjective I believe Invade, attack , murder is more descriptive?]
Of course officially the US/Iraq will not confirm anything, as is customary. Unofficially everyone gets the message, and it's about time. We won't attack deep into Syria but all the border regions are now within our sights.
[Elf so as long as you don’t march to Damascus with the 23rd its ok then?]
A U.S. military official said the raid by special forces targeted the network of al-Qaeda-linked foreign fighters moving through Syria into Iraq. The Americans have been unable to shut the network down in the area because Syria was out of the military's reach.

Like many others I was scared. what was the nature of the threat that now confronted my way of life, my culture, my values, my own personal security and that of those I love? Should I genuinely be frightened of bombs on the London underground, hijackings at Paris Orly, gas attacks in Los Angeles or dirty bombs in Chicago?
As the months passed, I found that none of these questions were being answered by the myriad articles and books published on "the war on terror" and its supposed targets. I became increasingly concerned about the misconceptions that were gaining currency, and a belief system in the USA. Foremost among them was the idea that Bin Laden led a cohesive and structured terrorist organization called "al-Qaeda".
EVERY piece of evidence I came across in my own work, and peer reviewed articles, contradicted this notion of al-Qaeda as an "Evil empire" as quoted by Rumsfield, with an evil mastermind at its head.
Such an idea was undoubtedly comforting, destroy the henchman and his men and the problem goes away, but it was both misguided and false that such an organisation ever existed!
The nearest thing to "al Qaeda" that ever existed I observed being destroyed in totality in Tora Bora complex in 2003, one cave some 20 militants who had a particular spin on radical Islam, They never recognised or accepted Bin laden as their leader just a fellow Jihadist, from a separate sect of Islam"
which country they are actually coming through to get to Iraq.

Not only to target this objective but to also put Syria on notice that if they do enforce their borders, we'll do it for them.

Wow folks really like to blow things out of proportion and speculate like crazy around here when nothing ever happens. Nothing is going to come of this...i promise. You think you cant find a headline in the news about this right now? Wait til tomorrow...you'll find nothing and this will be another non-event.

Um, let me take a stab at that. Would it be the same country 15 of the 19 supposed 9/11 hijackers came from? The same country whose ruling family the Bush family has been in bed with all along? The same country that stood to gain the most in the region from a heavy US presence in Iraq? Am I getting warm?

Going back to The Sun, and for that matter most British newspapers, I have worked out one thing: Although Tony Blair wanted a Blood Price for the 'special relationship,' the real bond was deeper. Our military showed yours how not to torture. You have to remember you used to kill innocents to keep up your vietnamese 'body count.' You were terrible in Iraq, us less so. Frank, rude and sorry.
