Musical? Easy.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

All the elements of a good Bond movie with songs. Don't think Daniel Craig would be as good as Dick Van Dyke though, and anyone with the misfortune of seeing Mama Mia will know of Pierce Brosnan's delightful tones....

An excellent question Dave since I have at least seen about 2500 movies.

I am a vast fan of the Kung fu/samurai movies so I am gonna ad those genres to my list and perhaps some more since there are more genres that don't fit into action imo.

Only problem is that with some genres I have more than 1 nr. 1 because some movies are so close on touching/impressing you on personal level..

But since you could do it too I will give it a try to pick only one though I can't guarantee anything

Ok enough nagging, here it goes.

Best ever Dramas: Network and Ikuru.

Best ever Samurai Movie: Samurai Rebellion.

Best ever Kung Fu Movie: Fist of Legend

Science fiction, First men in the moon

Military, Full metal Jacket

Horror, The Shining

Thriller, Cape fear

Comedy; Monty Python and the holy grail

Best action movie ever is a tough one but I would pick the new Batman Dark Knight movie too, it is really that good

best childrens movie ever is Labyrinth

And best ever Mafia movie is Casino

This was a tough topic for me since it is indeed so hard to choose.

Edit - I can't remember when I watched a 'romantic"movie

It's actually the best movie evahhhhhh, but that wasn't one of the categories.

You can either have the money and the hammer or you can walk out of here. You can't have both. What do you want?

Yep. All of those are good. Check out "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" aka "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", if you haven't already. Great movie!

Hey Dave, I have a quick question. Are you going to compile the results for any reason? It might be a fun and interesting study such as do ATS'ers think alike? Or do we really have a diverse forum here. It was just a thought.

As you were....

As with all the threads that I have done (as few as they are), I really enjoy seeing our community come together and simply enjoy a moment together in something without throwing stones or feeling like everything always has to be confrontational.

Anyone is welcome to spend some time in a day or two and see which ones garnered the most votes and post them.

Personally, I have Googled several that I was unfamiliar with and plan on checking them out.
