Strange lights have St. Augustine residents looking skyward | VIDEO

FIRST COAST NEWS
April 22, 2008 12:54 PM

ST. AUGUSTINE -- Some strange things have been seen in the skies around St. Augustine, including orange glowing lights in the sky near the Castillo de San Marcos on Saturday, FLORIDA TODAY news partner First Coast News of Jacksonville reports.

Twelve-year-old Brandon Puckett says he thinks the video he shot shows UFOs. Puckett said the two fiery balls were flying along the coast in formation. One was slightly in front of the other, but both were going the same speed. Skeptics say the lights in the home video are something called sky lanterns. Others are not convinced. Monday, First Coast News learned that Saturday's sighting is the second UFO report in two weeks in the St. Augustine area. This other sighting was in St. Augustine Beach in the very early morning hours of April 14th. However, that was a different experience. In fact it was down right scary to the people who say they saw it. Bryan Cooper of the St. Augustine Airport took a call from a woman who says she and her husband saw something over the Intra-Coastal Waterway. It was a very large white light. Cooper told First Coast News, "She felt it zoomed at her and charged at her and then stopped fairly close, and then it backed away and hovered a little bit. Then it moved over and came again and pulled back. It scared them so much they went inside." Cooper checked out the airport's radar from April 14th between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and found nothing. "However," Cooper explained, "the radar information I have only responds to airplanes or helicopters that have been assigned a transponder code." Nevertheless, Cooper said he believed the witness was sincere and credible.

m.floridatoday.com...

its safe to say that ufo "military"activity has been picking up... could this is be a response to this ship?

Thanks for that link.

Here's my question then. Is it possible (assuming the satellite feeds are from separate sources) for two separate programs to produce the same glitch in graphics? I mean, the pentagon shape is roughly the same shape and size AND is also pointing in the same direction as the one on Google Earth.

Anyone with knowledge about these things care to comment? I just finished writing an extensive post trying to debunk this based on the fact that other sources didn't match the Google Earth feed. But, now it appears this source does.

Thread title:

What is going on with Google Earth? (Related to October 14th)

Quotes from OP:

It appears to be roughly 2000 miles long in length and width!

I later remember some of the messages that were being put out by Blossom Goodchild. Some which she states are not even clear to her. For example “Snowcone”. I would relate this to Antarctica. Another which I do not remember the correct source stated that the “non-humans” would arrive on a 2000mile long ship.

Just saying....

If this is missing data, then not one satellite is covering the North Pole? Why?

Because a Polar orbit is extremely 'difficult' for a satellite

If you want to pay out the ass, Google Earth can be quite an awesome program.
My version at the house is the free version, but our version at work is very cool!

If your going to pay for it why use google when you can go to Ikonos?

Here is a sample... (big file warning takes three scans to complete)

Yes it is possible and it is all for the same reason. Most of the coverage of the areas outside of the Arctic and Antarctic circles is from geostationary satellites positioned over the equator. These cameras are 23,000 miles away and are able to see the whole hemisphere at once and stay in the same spot relative to the Earth's surface. For example:
Now imagine you are holding a basketball at an arm's length. You can't really see the very top of the ball or the very bottom of the ball, can you? In the same way the geostationary satellites can't see the region around the poles.

What GE does and what that site Manticore just linked to do is take these images and "wrap" them around a virtual globe. Because there are several satellites, covering overlapping areas, odd things can happen when the images are "wrapped". But the most important part of this whole discussion is that the geostationary satellites do not provide images of the poles.

There is no geostationary satellite above the north pole or south pole because there cannot be. Geostationary satellites must be over the equator in order to do what they do. There are satellites that do photograph the poles but they are moving over the surface at 17,000 mph at altitudes of only about 550 miles. They only take pictures of very limited areas at a time. The composite images created by GE and those other sources rarely if ever use these images because there just isn't much to see in them.

So..the reason those empty places show up at the poles is because there is picture of those areas. It is a matter of no data. That's it.

This will now be completely ignored.

By the way Zorgon, and anyone else interested, I believe this thread COMPLETELY shuts down Goodchild's predictions. Afterall, she has said since that she has talked with the beings and they are claiming responsibility for this incomplete data set by saying it is actually THEIR spaceships.

Goodchild doesn't even have a shred of credibility at this point.

Im glad you said this as it is also what I was thinking. She has now proved beyond a shadow of a doubt (was there one anyway) that she is a fraud. By claiming that the missing data is a space ship and that the people on that space ship confirmed it, she has shot herself in the foot. I wonder how she will talk herself out of this one. Some more "BULL S@@@", no doubt

I think it is YOU who missed the boat... ArMaP's first language is Portugese, not English. His request for you to refrain from txt speech is seconded by me. I can see how it might be difficult for him to follow you... and hence take you seriously..

If you take a moment to look on the post page you might see this...

Please avoid using "TXT Messaging Shorthand" for words when posting on AboveTopSecret.com and AbovePolitics.com, such as "4" for the word "for" or "u" for the word you. Common "Internet Slang" acronyms such as "LOL" and "ROFLMA" are acceptable, but should still be used sparingly.

Yeah, I get the way they have to take these images. Although this is different because i was standing in the middle of a location as apposed to taking photographs from outside the circle (planet), I have done some 360 degree photographs and had the same thing occur at the top of the photo (the hole at the top and bottom) which would be stitched together by a program or you could do it in photoshop to bring the pieces together.

And I guess in comparison if you had two cameras close to each other but doing the exact same thing, you would get very similar results.

Thanks for taking the time to explain as it reminded me of my own experience with the above.
