Yes, exactly

They want a US version of Tianamen Square

Don't give it to them

Maybe that's what is needed.

Sometimes it takes a stand to motivate other people.

There will always be martyrs.

en.wikipedia.org...

We do not need martyrs. We have plenty of people who have been sacrificed already on the power trips of the current crop of crud sitting in office. The intelligent people and more motivated people need to manuever into positions where they gather intelligence on the corrupt elite. Sending those people out to protest is an empty gesture. The corrupt elite screwed everyone in this country this means police chiefs and soldiers exactly the sort no one robs from. We need to avoid allowing our selves to be pitted against people who might be in a better position to put a stop to all this crime and theft taking place.

Just was watching CNN and guess where Bush is heading right after he put the final nail in our country's coffin?

For a nice little vacation on his Crawford ranch!

How nice! Finish destroying our country and then head down to Texas to take a week long nap!

WTF is going on????????

I think it's called "Nero fiddled while Rome burned".

let's see - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac actively encouraged people to borrow money way over their heads in an attempt at social engineering. They told the banks that the money was guaranteed - causing the banks (in their greed) to buy these loans in bundles from the two organizations.

The money was NOT guaranteed. 700 billion in crap loans - and essentially we're going to pay for the mistakes made by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the people who pushed these organizations to encourage these loans (ACORN, Democrats, a few Republicans).

The sign was on the wall in 2003-2004, when Republicans and regulators insisted that it was a bad thing - a terrible thing - and that it was all going to fall to pieces.

Democrats in particular said that anyone who said it was going to fall apart were "racists" and "bigots".

Now the crows have come home to roost.

If anything, the people in those houses with the crap loans are victims - victims of someone who sold them an unrealistic dream. And I believe the banks had no choice - it was either try to make profits off of these loans (greed) or be sued to kingdom come by organizations like ACORN, who would call them racists and bigots.

I think that we are due a few public executions.

If the people who did Enron, Tyco, and Worldcom went to prison, then we should at least have some public executions:

1. Barney Frank, architect of this mess
2. Anyone else on the committee who said in 2003 that anyone who opposed these loans were bigots and racists.
3. CEOs of companies who gladly and willingly offered these loans (Countrywide comes to mind immediately).
4. Everyone who works for organizations like ACORN.

I see companies who bought the bundled Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac paper as blameless. They were TOLD that the government would make good on the paper.

The bailout works out to about 400,000 dollars for everyone over the age of 18. It's like I bought another #ing house, except I won't get a house - I'll just get the f**king bill.

Oh, and as for people who keep asking for more money for poor minorities, or for reparations - if I combine the hundreds of billions already spent by the Fed to keep things afloat until this passed, we're well over a trillion dollars. You've gotten your 40 acres and a mule, so f**k the hell off.

The smile of a man who has been given asylum in Europe or Australia. He will never make another fortune in America again. If he stays here he will be working in flea markets or in road side stalls in a couple of years. His time is past.

I think what we need is a vote of NO CONFIDENCE for every one of those Senators/House members who voted yes and get them out and replaced immediately. I just don't know how one goes about that.

I have an interesting quote for you all, in addition to the

NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!!

We whose Names are hereunto subscribed, do voluntarily Inlist our selves, as Minute Men, to be ready for military operation, upon the shortest notice. And we hereby Promise & engage, that we will immediately, each of us, provide for & equip himself, with an effective fire arm, Bayonet, Pouch, Knapsack, & Thirty rounds of Cartridges ready made. And that we may obtain the skill of compleat Soldiers, We promise to Convene for exercise in the Art Military, at least twice every week; and oftener if our officers shall think necessary. - Massachusetts Minuteman covenant, 1775

Back on topic...the Japanese didn't like the Senate bill either. Nikkei's been down for two days since the news broke. As a matter of fact, anyone with more than three brain cells to rub together (that's not a greedy banker) absolutely despises this unprecedented act of grand larceny.

The way the system is geared at the moment, you would sincerely be wasting your time.

The time to have done that would have been before the President put that into law. Now, you would have to abolish it.

And this is the big lie. Yes Frannie and Freddie were mismanaged, but there were other things happening, like shotgunning fraud perpetrated by Russian Mafia (and other foreign nationals I'm sure), creating up to 10 mortgages on the same property. Then the people who got the money took it and themselves back to their own country.

10 different banks all thinking they have a good mortgage that they sell off (as is industry norm) to the investment banks, the investment banks combine them, package them as derivatives, and use them as collateral in foreign trade.

A year or more down the road, at least 9 out of 10 mortgages on the same property are in foreclosure. The derivatives are worthless because of it. The holders realize it (even though, they are probably from the same foreign country that perpetrated the original fraud) and want the value made good.

That is why we are where we are right now.

Remember 9/11, if you keep hearing the same lie long enough, you will believe it without question. The idea that this is wall street or Fannie/Freddie's fault is the big lie this time.

Don't fall for it!

My Congressman, Doug Lamborn also voted "Nay", and I too emailed him to thank him for his steadfast stance on the issue. I also sent emails (and faxes, and more than a few voice messages) to the following Colorado Representatives who voted "Aye": diana degette, ed perlmutter, tom tancredo and senator ken salazar(they are no longer deserving of capitalization), which were not so kind.

Thanks also to Marilyn Musgrave, John Salazar, Mark Udall, and Senator Wayne Allard, who aren't in my district, but voted no on the bill.

So it seems that my state, Colorado, ended up "NO" by a margin of 4 to 3 in the house (senate was split). Perhaps my state won't be as hard to turn around as some other states, we only have to get rid of 3 representatives and 1 senator.

Again, NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!!!

Don't do that. Better yet, collect all of that brass, buy a simple Lee press and start reloading. It's not terribly difficult.
