Yeah, the comments about the 5 kids was worse, imo, than the pig comment. He can't be ridiculing Palin and McCain in one sentence, using metephors like pigs and old fish, and then turn around the next sentence and expect people to believe he was suddenly praising Palin.

No, it was a dig intended to disparage Palin's ability to be a mom and work as VP. Arrogant, condescending, and very snarky.

That's exactly what you're doing though. They were pointing out how stupid you and the other Neocons sound. That's exactly what you are doing and yet you claim that kind of logic makes it impossible to debate, even though that is YOUR LOGIC!

That's the problem with faulty logic. It can be turned around on you.

Are we seriously discussing this? Some of McCain/Palin supporters here cry foul when something is said about her background, but then try to take political advantage for an issue like this.

The reality is that tomorrow this is going to be old news and no one would even remembered it coming November. McCain/Palin supporters should try not to overreach and try to make this race to personal IMO, people get tired of the same, plus is diluting the message that McCain/Palin are trying to get out.

In regards to the comment I think it was nothing, it was a pretty straight foward comment trying to link McCain/Palin with Bush policies, of course every person would see, hear and interpret as they wish so there is no point in even arguing the matter.

No, no... America has it all wrong according to a few people here. America is using flawed logic if they think Obama called Palin a pig. America is also wrong to think Obama is a Muslim even though he admitted it the other night on ABCNews.

Only the left is right... Did I just say that?

I agree with Obama,

"You can put lipstick on a pig"

From my experience this is true...

I watched Fox tonight and even Reverend Mike Huckaby defended this as just an expression, one that he himself used many times from the pulpit, and as I heard it I really do not think Obama intended it as a sexist remark and in political terms if Palin did not say her lipstick joke no one would have thought twice about it, I think the timing of this is more of a coincidence than calculation.

Very good point. Also with a little mascera they start to look like McCain! Oh no, now I must hate all men including me! Oh Noes!

Gah, you people are sad. When Nat uses your logic you scream foul even though it is exactly what you are doing.

Just google "palin pig" and see the fury that is being brought down on Obama right now. This is not going away tomorrow. It may not decide the election but I would suspect that women that see this will not be impressed.

The whole speech was rambling as well. He sounded like a preacher one minute then in another he sounded like a sexist woman hater. He wasn't even coherent in some of his ramblings which makes it even worse.

You put together a poorly delivered rambling speech and add a pig remark against Palin and you get a video clip that will have women in this country shaking their heads and wondering if this is their guy....

Just to give you an idea how silly this enitre thread is

In Iowa last October, McCain drew comparisons between Hillary Clinton’s current healthcare plan and the one she championed in 1993: “I think they put some lipstick on the pig, but it’s still a pig.” He used roughly the same line in May, after effectively claiming the Republican nomination.

politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...

Did McCain call Hillary a pig? This is all nonsense and by the way mods are handing out warnings and penalties in this thread I dont see the point of having it open.

My apologies to the OP which I respect, but this is the type of thread that clearly invites to political baiting and trolling.

This is very different and the left fails to understand this point. Palin made a reference to lipstick in the biggest speech of her life and Obama mocks it by calling her a pig with lipstick. Hillary didn't make any references to a pig or lipstick when McCain made that statement. Clearly a different context in McCains case.

Obama was clearly drawing the reference and by the crowds reaction he made his meaning clear as a bell. Obama thinks Palin is a pig.

IS it only political baiting and trolling when Obama plays the gender card boarding on the race card? Its ok for all the McCain bashing here? Why even post the McCain reference if all this is just trolling and baiting? Sounds to me like a doubel standard...

Well, let's be fair. Obama doesn't likely think Palin is a pig. BUT I do believe he did intend to imply an insult nonetheless.
