I would like to see them even attempt to try.
India would kick the crap out of these fools.

Its bloody time Pakistan stood up!US can't just freaking cross anyone's border and start dropping bombs killing poor villagers as 'suspected targets'.These sorta attacks only strengthen pakistani taliban along with plenty new recruits.Pakistan should install anti-aircraft rockets and concentrate more on shooting down US drones and it doesn't need to sacrifice its own people for the safety of american or jew blood.

I really don't give a crap about US and India attacking pakistan as a combined force,China is not gona sit there with US millitary bases getting closer and closer and they also see India as a rising threat. So attacking pakistan will basically means asking china to get involved aswel. And even if China doesn't get involved Pakistan can just unleash its over 100 ready-to-fire- nuke warheads towards US bases in Afghanistan and annihilate India along with it.

Whatever. They are already screwing us. What's one more 'retaliation' from them?

They should go through the correct channels

The lawless tribal lands have no 'correct channels'.
Not really.

That's news to me. Bush said about Bin Laden that he basically didn't really care about him anymore.

It's just an excuse for their war.

Just wondering, does anyone know if Pakistan has the capability to deliver a nuclear warhead on any nearby US carrier groups that are in the area?

Pakistan are a nuclear power..we don't want to start a war with a muslim government with nukes because they might just use them..but i guess the nutcases making decisions that will kill millions wont be the ones dying...

Pakistan will do no such thing. Pakistani military officials and political party members have all been sold out to the Americans. They're on their pay rolls and these people hog all the money American sends to Pakistan. Just like in the Afghanistan/Russian war, Pakistani Generals used the money that American gave to Pakistan to help its neighbor but instead Pakistani Generals and Government officials kept the money for themselves built lavish houses and bought large acres of land and became feudalistic. Pakistan's Government is a puppet government being controlled by the Americans. Pakistan can never ever think of retaliating against America.

I agree pakistani political leaders are all puppets of US but not everyone in Pakistan is.I would say 90%-95% pakistanis are against US and its policies. And those who had enough of US's actions in that part of the world decide to take up arms with plenty of funding from unknown sources.According to my knowledge those sources are the pakistani people themselves who are pi*sd off with US and its actions.

[edit on 8-9-2008 by mr-lizard]

Absolutely.

If the Mexican military crossed the border chasing a suspect and saw him duck behind a house on the U.S. side and decide to shower the house with bullets killing our civilians as well as their suspect there would and should be hell to pay.

Lets put the machismo aside for a second.

We know Pakistan wouldn't win a war against America and it's allies, so aside from gleefully stating that obvious fact, the question is do they have a right to retaliate when their civilians are constantly being murdered by "friendly fire" and they get an "oops my bad" as an excuse?

I would disagree.
If the Pakistan politicians were U.S. puppets they would take military action and clean up their border areas like the U.S. wants.

Instead, they waffle, run away, sign meaningless agreements, and pretend to take action.

Yes you are right. Last year i visited Pakistan and no one seemed to agree to their own Government much less the American involvement in Pakistan. People in Pakistan are fed of the corrupt politicians and sold out military generals such as Musharraf. The fact is that these corrupt Generals and politicians have a very decadent lifestyle. They roam around in Mercedes-Benz and Ferraris while the common man doesn't have enough money for a bus ride. These people have their kids get their education in expensive western schools while the poor can't even afford to buy books. To keep this spout expansive way of life these people have acquired through the funding and loans that America gives Pakistan each year pelting Pakistan deeper in to debt, then the Pakistani government has nothing else to but listen to its Master give commands and they obediently carry them out. If they God forbiddingly disobey then the consequence will be that these people have to retreat to a normal way of live which they don't want.

As long as the attacks occur in the tribal areas, I don't really think that most of Pakistan cares.

The politicians will of course say how upset they are with the US and support any stories about civilian casualties but they don't really care about the US killing armed and dangerous militants.

All the outcry is just for the Pakistani press soas not to further anger the militants.

Well said my friend. During the first and second Gulf War I was appalled just how many times the Americans killed allied troops in so-called friendly fire incidents and never uttered one word of remorse. Thats the problem with the Yankee forces. They fire on everyone indiscrimanantly and if you happen to be in the way. . . tough.

The Pakistani leaders have to say things like that to prevent their people from massive protesting, etc.

I believe the raids and border crossing will probably continue.

Personally military action against afghanistan and pakistan is justified because they deliberately harbor al-qaeda, whom we are, in theory, at war against.

The Iraq fiasco was unnecessary distraction. We should pull out of Iraq and focus on getting rid of Al-Qaeda. If that means bombing certain parts of Pakistan, then so be it.

Unfortunately the Bush regime has other priorities.

How can they?
They can't even control their own "country"!
Tribal leaders control more land in Pakistan, then the so-called "Pakistani Armed Forces" and "Pakistani Government".

Pakistan is quickly becoming a second Somalia, a country that only exists because some lines on maps say it exists...

The coalition forces would be better off negotiating with Tribal Leaders, that, in fact, control all the border regions, between Afghanistan and the so-called Pakistan, then with these people that can't even leave their own Capital.

That whole region is a powder keg with the heat starting to fry the wood.

If I were in that region, I would duck and cover or get the hell out ASAP.
Something is about to give over there and it will indeed be a world war within hours if even a hair drops now.

It could be a proxy world war at first, but that whole region is about to erupt into flames right around our election time. Great time to lob stones when there's no one paying attention.

Good bye middle east and your people and your dubai erection!

thebulletin.metapress.com...

Looking at Pakistan's estimated nuclear capabilities, there could be the potential for a huge regional war if the extemists ever take over there and decide to take the US on. Estimated 60 nukes at 5-10 kilotons.
