If you have nothing to add to this discussion, please refrain from posting. You added nothing to the topic - agreeing or disagreeing, but rather ventured into some rant about Star Trek and Stargate (???).

Are you familiar with particle acceleration? Do you even know what a proton or electron is? Ever heard of a black hole or micro black hole? I know it all sounds like science fiction, but I can assure you - it has nothing to do with fiction, but everything to do with factual science.

First of all, How do these scientist know that this won't cause the world to implode on itself? Oh, that's right. There just guessing, isn't that what scientist do best? Guess if they don't know something? I would just like to know how they calculate the odds for something that's never been done. Half the time I read about scientific discoveries it seems they pull random numbers from a hat and just post it as fact. Remember, they said the Titanic was unsinkable....

Let me be Sarcastic here for a second... because; you know, I totally said the locations of the sky phenoms would be near the LHC.

These Phenoms are happening all over the world at different times and degrees. I honestly dont think you've read anything posted in this thread...

Please refrain from responding unless you can resist the urge shout blah at the top of your lungs for a moment to actually try and understand.

Ok, I just woke up and saw this... and I am still not awake... but upon reading it a whole bunch of jokes jumped into my head. This is not how my brain even works.. sure I am sarcastic but I don't have jokes jump in my head. So I wanted to post them. The user Matyas noted a similar hypothesis. The toronto explosion, the ATS outage, there were servers worldwide that suffered similar maladies.

It would be nice if he would drop by and chime in with his thoughts. I will email him shortly to see what he thinks.

This couldn't be, Nostradamus died in 1566, so it's impossible that he wrote this qutrain in 1654. The quatrain is not to be found in his published works. It's a hoax.

Not sure what "the City of God' is referring to...Israel perhaps? Or maybe even Iran..

"Two brothers torn apart by chaos", reminds me of a reference to America and Great Britain; but then again, stuff like this really is just conjecture, has a lot to do with your own perception..

I don't know what the fortress could be, nor the "Great Leader". Perhaps the "great leader" isn't a person but a whole Nation...

That last part though,"The third big war will begin when the big city is burning", sounds like New York City getting hit with a nuclear weapon.

'damus knew the safety of being vague and it works well for him. There have been may tsunamis, fires, wars (and no reason why each generation / location can't own the prediction for a while then pass it on.)

But black holes, that's not your common crisis, and I'm a big believer in (the beauty of) human imperfection. I think it's swell that scientists tell us there's nothing to worry about. And yet, they have an excellent track record of saying over and over ... "Oh, ooops... actually we've just recently discovered..."

The quote from Discover magazine at the beginning of this thread reminds me of this speech by Discover Magazine's Editor and Chief where he actually doesn't sound so confident about this specific experiment. The speech is called "10 ways the world could end."
