Anthrax suspect Bruce Ivins (linked to ATS)

www.latimes.com

WASHINGTON -- Bruce E. Ivins, the bioweapons scientist who apparently killed himself as the government was preparing to indict him in the 2001 anthrax attacks, had a long history of mental illness that flared just before mail contaminated with the fatal spores was received in New York, Florida, Connecticut and Washington, D.C.

The documents also included a message board post by Ivins on a conspiracy theory website, www.abovetopsecret.com. Asking for replies at the e-mail address [email protected] , he wrote that the sorority had labeled him as an enemy decades ago. "I can only abide their 'Fatwah' on me," he said.

The posting was significant, according to a government document, because "in his own words Dr. Ivins defines the depth of his obsession" and knowledge of the sorority. The document noted that letters containing anthrax were deposited in a mailbox in Princeton, N.J., just 60 feet from a building the sorority used.

This was part of the story that really got me interested in the types of people that actually visit ATS. Wow! I didn't forget about the anthrax scare and I remember about this certain characters involvement.

Good find!!

Wonder if SO is aware of the FBI inquiries.

For all those who ever wondered if we are monitored by the PTB here you go.

I don't know what to make of Mr. Ivins. I don't trust the government version of this story and it is ironic for me that ATS is an important piece of evidence in the case against Ivins.

Sorry it did take a while for me to post this. ATS was down for some reason, I think due to maintenance. I was a bit shocked of its mention of the website when I was reading this article. Is this a good thing or bad thing for ATS?

Good gawd, thanks for posting this article Nahsik, good find for sure...

Just goes to show that no matter how much we all love ATS and feel at home inside our little community forums, there's some really sick twisted individuals that are members too and to always be careful...

It sure is outside of any sort of context.

Never trust the government in what they say when their are things they wont say.

Just my two cents.

Though it could be that the government wants to scare ppl on this site, by naming it, from stating what they feel as if to say it'll be used against you.

Plus, without a password out the mouth of the suspect themself I'd disreguard the government's find. They cant prove it was by him without him confessing the very password.

Nice try government.

Read it more. The government sure likes to says what books you have, but wasnt he living with other ppl? Those could be some other's book. Plus, what if he got mailed the book as a gift? The government themself could have sent it as a gift in advance to paint the perfect picture later on when the time came, you know? You never know, but trying to make someone look guilty by their taste in books or movies is not a good look for the government.

And ppl shouldn't start not buying or collecting certain things they like just because the punk government might use it against them to make them out as guilty.

If someone gets murdered in a cleaned up way, and the suspect they pick is the one who happens to watch CSI, the government would try to use that to make the suspect seem guilty as if their watching CSI played a part to mean it was surely them. Please

I was watching some show a long time back and this bitch in this place I was held tried to use it against me just because of what the show involved. She obvously did it for the punk atf. She sure was acting different than the last time I had to meet her. I wouldnt put it pass me that she was wearing a wire trying to provoke me to say things that could look damning in the ear of the ppl who lack wise judgement.

yea, scary stuff, and this new group of wierd'os is even more scarier ...
they call themselves Rogue Nation... I think they are provocateurs of some sort. they fly the skull and cross bones on a black flag flanked by 1776.
well a good bit of population at the beginning were pirates or sorts.
definably outcasts from Europe. Dont quite know what to make of them other than they want blood shed and really that isn't in the cards from this group. I have heard the NRA has drawn a line in the sand. and several states have done the same.. But the releases they did on 8-8-8 scared the crap out of me.. then I did some checking and found out they are nobodies in the 911truth movement - but they suddenly appeared in force here on ATS. 8-8-8

I think you need to reevaluate what you think about the different types of wackos like ALL of us that post here. I say wackos because to anyone who has the power to label you as such, you are a wacko.

We can't know the full story behind what happened in Ivins case, but just because he may have posted his possibly strange thoughts here doesn't mean you should group us all as "The Types" that visit ATS.

Is this really a conspiracy site?, or is it a social site that shows nothing more than a reflection of what people around the world believe. America is about different beliefs, values, and thoughts of a wide spectrum of people.

No matter how rediculous or insane those thoughts, beliefs, or values are, it is a part of the human condition, and like it or not...You are also one of "those types".

Personally, I think that the timing of the mention of ATS is a bit odd. Only after members here questioned the official story being presented about this anthrax revelation, does ATS linked into the story.

Because of ATS's google rankings, when the story about Ivins broke, and was presented here, the thread and its discussion were in the top ten hits for Google for at least 24 hours... I checked. ATS has been raising a few feathers in the last year, especially in regard to the Barkdale Missing Nukes Thread, www.abovetopsecret.com....

Unless his posts are still around (which they should be), and can be found and linked to (I can't find them and don't see them linked here), this could easily be an attack by the PTB on the freedom of speech and frank discussion here at ATS. Who is going to listen to us if the Mainstream has their facts wrong? The damage has been done to ATS's credibility here.

I don't buy it. The tale about Ivins, or his supposed connection to ATS.
Maybe I am wrong...
DocMoreau

Plus this is not the 'first time' that some 'kook' has posted at ATS.... anyone else remember hearing about Jeff Weise? Look that up if you haven't...

wow I can't believe that you actually took offense to what i said. I didn't brand everyone as a wacko, I didn't even brand anyone for your information. This post just goes to show that you can't just trust anyone that you meet on the internet, no matter if your posting on a forum or chatting in a chatroom. It has been said time and time again.

I guess ATS is more than a conspiracy site as we have labelled it more as a community and with close to 150,000 you can't expect everyone to be perfect. I think you pulled this out of context. I haven't labelled anyone as a wacko, your interpretation acknowledges misinformation.

I guess we know what happened to ATS this morning. The alphabet agencies are poking around.

Now don't take offense at my interpretation, I clearly only stated what I took from your post. What I was trying top say is that people are people no matter who brands them as being this or that. And under the right circumstances anyone is capable of doing anything.

The reason I took a bit of offense at your post is obvious to everyone who has half a brain to think with. So I don't think your bad or evil despite your obvious leaning towards the 'dark side'.
Just trying to point out that people are people no matter who labels them.

Wow, this is huge.

The terrorist who planned the anthrax attacks the week after 9/11 was an ATS member!

Becareful who you talk to here.

I think it is great news!

ATS is a free and open discussion board, on a wide range of topics, people from all walks of life, and various mental states come here to discuss just about anything and everything... with the volume of members alone why would this news surprise anyone?

PTB on ATS?

You bet, and just about every other online community out there... Why would they not monitor discussions, especially where the topics are related open investigations?

Sorry, I can't see how this is bad news.

Wow. Well, all I can say is that my thoughts will keep on coming. I have dedicated myself to throwing off the shackles of the NWO as best I can, and to shut up is to be untrue to myself.

I beg to differ with you on that opinion. Just because we are interested in finding answers and or discussing alternative theories, doesn't mean we're "whackos."

This guy, even if he was framed, was chosen to be the scapegoat because he was a "whacko" at the very least. If he really did post that stuff about the Kappas having a "fatwah" against him, that's laughable to say the least, especially to anyone who knows what goes on in a sorority house lol...nothing much besides nail polishing and discussions about men etc...he was obviously a nutjob IMO, whether he was framed or not. And not indicative, I would hope, of the majority of the members here on ATS.
