Hi mate,
I am a member of a social networking site called www.abovetopsecret.com. This website is dedicated to those people who wish to talk about conspiracies, whether that be from a believer or a sceptical point of view.
Every so often this website runs a competition, usually revolving around decryption of codes to attain an answer and lead to the next question. The website is currently running one of these competitions (called www.whatistheconspiracy.com) and a number of us are attempting to solve it. This is where your Decrypto online cryptogram solver comes in. It appears we may have overused it in our desperate attempts to solve this clue before our brains melt from strain.
I, on behalf of the members from Abovetopsecret involved in the competition, would like to apologise if it was our fault that overloaded your server and assure you that nothing untoward was meant by it. It is simply a large number of eager codebreakers attempting to decode a puzzle. We shall attempt to limit the number of people using the program so as to avoid this happening again.
Regards,
Subject: Decrypto server down? (it was probably us, sorry!)
Hello,
First, thank you for the online Decrypto server; it's a great tool!
I notice it's down currently -- if it was because of high traffic, I
can probably explain that. There's currently an online
cryptogram/codebreaking contest at:
www.whatistheconspiracy.com...
We're discussing the current puzzle (annoyingly tough!) in this forum thread:
www.abovetopsecret.com...
Everyone's feels really badly, if it was our recent usage of the
Decrypto site causes an overloaded server or a crash or anything!
Oops!
Thanks again & sorry,
Ian McLean
