I saw that also, I have tried so many different words, I wish the game would tell you if you had a thread ID correct at least.

It is interesting about the triangle and such

I do not think it will hurt to look around the Northern Territories for other clues, see the thing is we can look at is that all these answers tie into a huge ending puzzle, I am still stumped about the last answer and such...

we are basically looking at if it is yellowknife as a word

someone who proves something, somewhere????

I am doing some boolean searches in posts about the northwestern territories

Actually, it does. When you enter a guess, it will tell you something like "the thread id is correct, but the answer is incorrect". And presumably, it will tell you a different message if the answer is correct but the thread id isn't.

Edit to add: Hmm, that gives me an idea... be right back, just have to make approximately 380,000 guesses...

Edit to ALSO add: Assumption we've made: letters are encoded horizontally, in the 47 'slots' in the image... no evidence for that, though, other that it's obvious (!). Perhaps the letters are encoded vertically, one letter per row instead of per column?

Yeah that's what I was thinking few pages back
Remember the dots across darker horizontal lines?

Come on, the suspense is killing me... is the thread id at least correct?

And because the green values in the horizontal direction have a convenient 23 to 24 different values, most of which overlap with the ASCII lowercase alphabet. Whereas the verticals range from something like 03 to 7a, and go up and then down. You'd need a message that had only low-value letters to start and end and high-value letters in the middle

I think we're on the right track, we just need the offsets. And maybe after I sleep I'll see something I'm missing today.

hey, just got back from the movies...nooooooo...still hasn't been solved yet huh? sigh.....

question-what is my thread id? how do i find it? varrin7 won't fit, so i'm assuming it's something else?

did a little digging into the Yellowknife, NT bit. some info I thought might be useful:

motto:Multum In Parvo (Much In Little)

coordinates:62°27′N 114°24′W

the motto strikes me as a possible hint. "Much in Little"...could mean we have to zoom in on the image, or take it in small chunks, possibly vertical line by line?

The thread id is the number in the URL for the thread. For example, the id of this thread is 379751:

maybe, but how would you determine where the rows are? the grayish lines at top and bottom seem to me to be the "slash" effect that is applied to the whole site, rather than markers.

Hi All at ATS,

Re. 8uhnbsgt62bs

Im absolutely crap at stuff like this - im probably meowing up the wrong telephone pole here - however here is my two pennies worth.

Why not try downloading a tool called Color Picker
www.topshareware.com...

Image-Bot.com Color Picker Manual

Using the program:
Picking a Color: Simply fill click the "Pick" button and then click on the pixel you wish to find the color of.
The full hex color will appear at the top. Then each RGB value will appear in the bottom section of the program.
To copy any of the values to the clipboard, press the button to the left of the value.

........................................................

WHY NOT USE THIS TOOL TO CLICK ON EACH VERTICAL BAR IN TURN TO FIND OUT THE SPECIFIC HEX NUMBER OF EACH PARTICULAR COLOR?

Then what? Beats me?

Just a thought. It may lead to a breakthrough somewhere?

Regards

well, it doesn't tell you if it's correct or not, just say they're both wrong if one is. guess I'll have to find the answer to see. shouldn't be too hard.

ok I think we should go back to the clue list given before the game start.

ROTATION SEQUENCING SUBSTITUTION JUXTAPOSITIONING SCRAMBLING MISDIRECTION ZEITGEIST STRATEGIZE SOLUTIONS

IT WILL BE OBSERVED THAT A CYCLE OF ADDITIVE COLORS IS IMPORTANT AS WELL AS THAT OF SIMPLE DOTS.
IT WILL BE OBSERVED THAT SIXTEEN IS IMPORTANT IN NUMBER AND COLOR, BUT THAT CAESAR SEQUENTIALLY SHIFTS HIS COLORS.
IT WILL BE OBSERVED THAT THE CYCLE OF TRIANGLES BUILDS WORDS AND SYMBOLS ARE DIAGONALLY TRUE.
IT WILL BE OBSERVED THAT CAESAR SLIDES ACROSS ON EACH, AND JUXTAPOSITION IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS.
IT WILL BE OBSERVED, TWICE, THAT THE ROTATION OF GLYPHS BUILD MEANING.
AND FINALLY IT WILL BE OBSERVED THAT THE MISSING COMPONENT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT IS SEEN.

Lets just work these apart and use the clues given.

We need to intensely look at these colors as stated, its not awfully hard but this is one of the more difficult puzzles we will encounter, I think there should be four of these, 4th, 7th, 9th, 11th just guessing.

Do you ever wonder why the text was written in the dark color used in the picture?

Here is some pages elaborating on what I see as in "16 in Color"

16 color chart
www.febooti.com...

Funny this is called "Springer".com, hosting a book called. " Decrypted Secrets
Methods and Maxims of Cryptology" but guess what it has 16 color pages wow
www.springer.com...

okay, i took the numbers from the green values (not zeroes) and added them ("additive colors") these are the numbers in order from left to right, seperated by the "dark purple" lines:

911 630 607 699 838 503

at first, i thought they might be dates (9.11=sept. 11......2001?) but of course when i got 699, that idea was burned down. so, don't know what else they might be. gonna keep applying the clues to the pic in order.

edit---someone may want to check my math, i'm soooooo tired. here are the numbers i used:

110 102 97 99 109 101 93 100 100=911

98 114 94 103 106 115=630

106 107 99 98 97 100=607

93 109 98 110 93 101 95=699

102 99 103 96 114 104 109 109 102=838

102 104 93 94 110=503

So we do this in order?

1. ROTATION - we're been doing this
2. SEQUENCING -

3. SUBSTITUTION - yeah, cryptogram solver
4. JUXTAPOSITIONING - Don't think we have done this
5. SCRAMBLING -

6. MISDIRECTION -

7. ZEITGEIST - is this from the movie? 12 signs in astrology, christianity hoax
8. STRATEGIZE - isn't that what we have been doing?

9. SOLUTIONS - elusive

Maybe sequencing has to do with the indices? One to one correspondence between indices and green values.

i took the "16" part of the clue, and put 16 into the fields for red, blue, and green. get this really dark, almost brownish color. "16" color is on right, actual black is small strip on left.

these could be flight numbers, call numbers, something could be significant

1. ROTATION - rotate forward or backwards by 16
2. SEQUENCING - Order them according to indices
3. SUBSTITUTION - use cryptogram solver
4. JUXTAPOSITIONING - don't know
5. SCRAMBLING - back to square one

6. MISDIRECTION - don't know
7. ZEITGEIST - the spirit of the time
8. STRATEGIZE - take a look at it

9. SOLUTIONS - finally after hours and hours

I believe these are for us to use, not so much all in sequence to figure out something, for past puzzles have been figured out without following these rules.

I am still leaning to the side that we must trust the colors we have on the puzzle, it says about intensely analyzing nothing but the colors would we get and answer.
