Here are two images that show there is much more than water, algae and possibley trees on Mars.

The above image shows a building complex located in the Hale Crater region. A huge multi-level complex with columns and what appear to be storage tanks behing the complex. A massive civilization site was found here on official ESA photos beneath image tampering .

The above image shows some sort of industrial plant underneath a clear dome. Do you see the puff of vapor shooting from the vertically configured exhaust pipe? It's amazing how the building conforms to the curved shape of the dome. Sorry for the blurry picture quality, this was found underneath yet more image tampering and enlarged like the previous picture. This picture was derived from Viking data. Both images can be downloaded from NASA and the ESA and clearly show (at least the second one) evidence of an advanced active civilization on Mars.

Are you kidding me? COME ON. Please stop it with these photos, it`s rocks, rocks, rocks and a lot of sand

what is this... and why did NASA think it serious enough to warrant a centre-view photo?

Not an expert, looks like a meteorite - found similar looking rocks on Earth (specifically, on my land).

The linked site is entertaining. I think this image is quite interesting. Seems to be metallic. To the right and up a bit from the apparently metallic object is some "fluff" like mud.

hmmm I wonder did NASA really find some sort of life on Mars or did they find something that would really make Bush happy, such as oil??? Of course transport to Earth would be a problem unless we had some flying saucers or flying barges to transport to Earth.....hmmmm just wondering out loud here folks.....

The truth will be exposed very soon, so in the meantime read your bible and use some of that brain power to help solve the energy crisis.

You want people to stop with the nonsense and read their Bible? If that's not a contradiction, I don't know what is. You mean the Bible with the talking snake, talking donkey, talking burning bush, day and night that were created before planets and stars, etc.?

Back on topic, I know what is going to be revealed. They made liquid water and found sea monkeys! www.sea-monkeys.com...

I wish it was something significant like that, but I think the news will be nothing special at all. I HOPE I'm wrong. The American public is so poorly educated in science(about 20% think the Sun orbits the Earth), NASA is able to "discover" water repeatedly over the years and make it sound sensational. Then there is the claim that asparagus could grow in the soil, ummm... provided that it truly is sterile, that is half true. There would have to be many kinds of organisms to make real soil, or nutrients would have to be added like in hydroponics. See Soil Biology for more info. The public is so dumb they accept anything and NASA knows it, "The soil on Mars is just like soil in your backyard." Du! Really? Ok, is American Idol on yet? They won't spend 2 minutes to look something up and verify it, or just THINK.

Maybe they'll say there is contamination. There was contamination on equipment, that was on the Moon, in 1967 that survived on the Moon (not grew) 31 months, and was cultured back on Earth showing that bacteria could survive very extreme conditions, and no one blinked an eye. It was relevant information that supported panspermia. www.panspermia.org...

I'm betting this information will have something do do with the simple mineral composition, not complex organic compounds, contamination from Earth, or that Mars may be suitable for a station. In other words, what we already know. No use upsetting religion, government, and The People; keep the real science hushed up.

This news seems to be set for an explosion of sorts...

Dunno if anyone has scoped LiveScience/Space.com for updates yet but Leonard David describes the push for keeping the data quiet as "leaking out around the edges". Not really sure what to make of the size of this but something is surely going on. (Space.com is covering it as well now.)

As to the Twitter updates - really puzzles me. For such credible sources indeed saying otherwise it makes me wonder if the content there is something of a crowd control mechanism.

Both images are very interesting. Unfiltered?? 100% sure that they havnt been tampered with??? It makes sense to me that life could be able to thrive on mars but what doesnt make sense to me is why any one would take nasa's word for it. I'm just having trouble beliving that anything they say could be the total truth.

Also strange that their official twitter is saying the exact opposite information than that which was released....NASA covering tracks already?????

I wont repeat in again after this but NASA definately has NOT been up front and forward with anything, so why would they be that way with this???

My prediction- NASA will not come forward with any more breaking news for the next 2 years. They will launch another unmanned probe and the whole stink will start all over again. We're running in circles guys, they're all laughing at us too while we're being kept in the dark.

If we're all sitting here waiting for them to come forward and say life has been found, we'll be sitting here for eternity. They will dibble dabble around that statement but never actually say it. What i would suggest to do is make the decision for yourselves. Have you seen enough evidence to say there is life on mars??? certainly some of us here have known things like mars sky being blue and the planets surface being much less hostile than we were originally led to believe. I've known that for a couple of years now... but still if you ask 20 random people in public many will tell you that the sky is red and many of them may tell you "whats mars?".

I don't think nasa is out there to prove anything life or no life. I think they're up there to make it look like they're trying to. It was already mentioned by mopusvindictus ::

"Here's the horror... this probe to find water... cost 350 Million Dollars...

We spend 1 Billion a day In Iraq

That means for the same price, we could have sent 3 probes a day or 21 a week or over 80 a month or over.... 1,000 probes and rovers to mars to chart it and dominate the landscape with cameras and mapping equipment and even...heaven forbid...seeds sent with them... "

sorry cant do the fancy quote marks thing... i agree with mopusvindictus though, if we were serious about finding life and not just pretending to find life GW would give the space program 1 days worth of the war budget. i dont see that happening.

Yeah I had seen that same photo and wondered about the metallic look. I'm glad to know there are others that like to look at Mars photos at areo.com

All of you believers have been duped. This is a hoax like a poster mentioned a few pages back.

twitter.com...

See. This is what you get for not using your common sense and thinking logically an critically.

"Oooh disclosure! oooh aliens on mars! oooohh civiliaztions on mars!" Like I said people lie, hoax, make stuff up and confabulate. This thread PROVES that people wanna believe what they wanna believe!

YOu guys carck me up!

Mars doesn't have any global geomagnetic field comparable to Earth's Van Allen belt to support life. Combined with a thin atmosphere that Mars has, this allows a significant amount of ionizing radiation (x-rays, muons, protons, alpha particles, pions, electrons, and neutrons) from solar and cosmic radiation to reach the Martian surface.

Quote from Wikipedia and other sources if you want to check:

"The energy of this radiation can far exceed that which humans can create even in the largest particle accelerators."

But I would bet the woowoo believers of would call all of this B.S anyway.
It's the only thing they would spout out when the truth of the reality hits them in the head.

in all honesty it wouldnt surprise me if they claim they found Osama bin laden hiding in a cave on mars with Saddams WMD's ...

i wouldnt get too worked up the last time NASA said they had something exciting to reveal it was pretty mundane.

my idea of exciting - finding an alien civilisation
NASA's idea of exciting - finding an atom in space..

In a completely different thread, but along similar lines, i postulated that the PTB were in process of disclosure due to the high sightings of UFOs all around the world. this increased fequency has somehow pushed their plans forward. I suspect they are hoping that with all of us worried about oil, high interest rates, bank closures that our attention are placed elsewhere and that by this disclosure will somehow by pass us without undue anxiety. If from others says is true and December 2012 is the final deadline I suspect that that is why the PTB is pushing forward at such a rate. They will have to undo the 60 years of cover up but not in such an alarming way...and the best way is now with Pheonix Mars Lander...the name which I find quite amusing...the mystical bird - rebirth from its own ashes...

However it is quite alarming why disclosure is happening...have you seen all the sci-fi shows like stargate, only a select few knows about it. If they are telling us now...there must be something really really wrong.

All you people really want is for something to come along and look the camera in the face. That wouldn't happen, as we know from experience, life with intelligence keeps it's distance from the unfamiliar, now something it cannot perceive like a hidden camera etc might have better luck "if there was anything there...

Now if enough rovers and probes were sent to Mars allowing what ever was there to get comfortable, there would indeed be a photo of something passing a lens or something. It's been done on Earth plenty of times.

But a moving and noisy rover with arms waving about and drills going off sure isn't going to attract anything to it... heh
