What would you do if you found out that the government you worked for was a lie... And what would you do if you where givin an asignment to go into the streets, and start aresting / killing American civilians?

Or my favorite.. What would you do if you were ordered to go house to house and start confiscating legal guns from law abiding citizens?

What if our government went crazy, and started killing American citizens? How could we get out of it?

You folks south of the 49th have a constitution, I shouldn't even need to quote Statesmen or the text of your law.

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
Richard Henry Lee

And please read...........
The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I would bet that a lot of Americans won't give up their guns without a fight.

Edit: Screwed up a quote.

I can argue that the patriot act in its legality and phrasing has made the 2nd obsolete

The PATRIOT ACT...

Section -- 802 -- Amendments to previous definition of "terrorism" US code 3077(1)
and 2331

Interpretation of the law...

A fluid and debatable sting of words intended to guide, frame
and/or expand any legal debate by using terms, references, definitions and active or passive key words or phrases...

Law is not black and white -- Simply put much of law depends of who is passing the judgment, their views and notions.

AND AWAY WE GO!

a (A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are
a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or
of any State;

Now if you had to explain to me what the part "(A)" above meant what would you say???

What does "acts" mean to you?

What does "dangerous" mean to you?

"Violation of (WHAT/WHICH) criminal laws of the United States or of any State" ?

Do you see the quandary?

Now another example:

--`(B) appear to be intended--

Now the word "appear" --

Could the word "assume" be a possible synonym for appear in this context ?

(ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion

What does "intimidation" mean to you?

More importantly what does it mean to someone else or the government?

Now do the same with "coercion"...

If the US is headed for total chaos and the citizenry becomes "ANGRY" how might these
words be interpreted?

And if gun owners are slowly singled out by the use of these legal mechanisms then what?

I took some pre law and not one student or the professor could leverage past the loose terms of 802...

In my opinion if the government wanted to say your a terrorist what are you going to do? All they need is to do is speculate on your intent...that is enough!

So really are you gonna shoot it out,,, will that help your argument that you are not a terrorist?

If you do who is going to be aware of your true intentions and innocence...

This is a move beyond guns - guns work for an all out event, not a slow calculated one!

Fix the act and the 2nd will have weight again!

Against my own countrymen NO. I would have to have had a very good reason given to me to shoot my own. Luckily for me it is considered a very dangerous thing to give a sailor a rifle ...... pretty much like giving an officer a map.

Believe me.. if someone came to my door and wanted my gun's they would get one hell of a fight.. I even had a CO try to tell us we cant have guns.. that didnt last long.

I would send my wife and kids away, and go down fighting!

But my question is what if you where the one they ordered to go get the guns!!

That would be against the Constitution (which I swore to defend from enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC) and our Bill of Rights. I would say it is an unlawful and improper order, and I wanted to see the Inspector General.

When they all stopped laughing at me... I would let them know I am dead serious. I would be arrested.

Then, if two saw what was happening to me... and had the guts to say they agreed... then four, then eight, then sixteen... and more and more who know the TRUTH did the same thing. They might have a problem on their hands. Heck it might even sweep through the whole damn military and law enforcement community!! And then, maybe just maybe... they will have realized they have woken a Sleeping Giant and decide to get the heck out of Dodge. Then we make sure it gets back to what it means to be an American.

A Government of the People, by the People, and for the People.

That's what I'd do...

I was answering what I would do if I was asked to kill innocent Americans. I based my answer on your OP.

What would you do?

I don't know.. I definitly couldnt kill inocent americans. or take guns.. I would probibly bunker down and give one hell of a fight.. I dont think I could refuse in front of them.. I wouldnt wait for the uprising.. I would gather up my friends, send my wife and kids to my grandfathers, and go to war... or I would go to my grandfathers with my wife.. (he has a bigger arsenal) and set up camp there!

But what if the crazy government is using the disguise of rounding up terrorists?
What if you were ordered to round up terrorists under the guise of,,, "come in for questioning" and you realized these people "brought" in tended to be gun owners?

I have gone house to house taking the guns of normal civilians, in Iraq. They were still allowed one fully automatic AK-47, and two loaded magazines per household, we only took what exceeded the limit.

I swore to defend the US Constitution. I believe the military wold revolt if ordered to disarm Americans. It would have to start small scale somehow, with trumped up justification, maybe a riot, in order to work.
