I don't have any pre-conceived notions of the I Ching, I just regard the whole timewave zero thing as pseudo-scientific rubbish, to be perfectly honest with you.

That being said, you've been quite candid in your approach here, so I'll lay off I promise not to throw any eggs come October.

Hi Mystic, fellow Mckenna fan and phychonaught, The version of the software I have shows a current slide into novelty that peaks in October of 09, the highest peak in history at that point. The whole of this year shows a slide into novelty so I can't see what may be special about September as the slide begins in mid 07 until October 09??? Perhaps I have the older version.

Mckenna was the first to admit it's crazy, especially as it comes from a pysilocibin entity, something I'm very familiar with. A brilliant man in my opinion.

Indeed, we are regressing into a high state of novelty right now, and according to my graphs -- it bottoms out the first week or so of September.

I can already feel the nutty/crazy nature of my reality around myself!

Maybe economic collapse won't happen -- maybe WWIII won't either -- but times are going to get so weird/strange in the next 3-5 weeks.

I mentioned the LHC earlier in this thread. When I mentioned it, it was scheduled for August. Since then, it has been moved to the begining of September. So, I am still standing by that. I think we will discover something that will eventually change the world.

And i for one do believe the novelty theory holds credibiltiy. So we will see.

Hi, I have been following this thread for a while and find it very interesting. In regards to KarlHungis' correct postponement of the LHC at cern until September. Please check out the link below to CERN's site. As you can see by the August 7th entry the activation of the LHC has been postponed until September 10th.

I too have also been using the timewave software, The Hermetic Systems 7.10 version, and I can see a distinct trend in the amount of novelty in the first 2 Weeks of September, especially around the 13th, using the Kelley set.

I have also looked into Carl Johan Calleman and Ian Xel Lungolds', Mayan Codices and I have made calculations based on these and the 5th night of this cycle of creation according to the mayan codices. The fifth night is between the middle of November 2007 to the middle of November 2008.

If you fractally reduce this fifth night period, by spliting it into 13 parts, 7 Days and 6 Nights, to gain the 5th night of the 5th night. This gives you a time period that runs from the first week in August 2008 until the middle of September 2008. The margin of error in my calculations is + or - 10 days, to take into account leap years and other anomalies.

I have also used another piece of software called Mayonics. This software gives you the Mayan definition for each day according to the intent of that day. The Day designations of 4 Ahau or 8 Ahau are related to some important upheavals in Mayan history. The only date that has the designation 4 or 8 Ahau in the 3 month period surrounding the time co-ordinates from beginning of August and the middle of September is September 13th, which has been mentioned before in this post and also in this thread.

The Mayonics software can be downloaded for free from Carl Johan Calleman's website, listed below. It is listed as a Mayan Tzolkin Calculator.

Weird, the History Channel tonight is showing a "Decoding the Past" episode called "Doomsday: 2012 - The End of Days" ...in it, Terence McKenna's theory is discussed.

I just turned the TV on, went to the History Channel -- without knowing what would be on it and I get this?!

Looks like a big peak in late August, then look for another significant event between the 2nd and 6th of September and then yeehaw!!!! a big slide into novelty...that is according to the chart....thanks for that link - it works a peach

I just read through the whole thread and it's fascinating - starred & flagged.

Now, as I read it - the strength of the novelty, if I can put it like that, lies in the extent to which it causes change to occur in society & culture. So, once that change has settled down and people get used to it, that begins the rise back into habit, yeah? So, for the descent into novelty to continue for any length, then change would have to be pretty constant with little or no time for getting used to things. Either that, or it would be of such magnitude that it would take a long time for things to settle down. That would be pretty unusual to say the least, although having said that, some technological changes have caused pretty much constant change in their wake as they have been developed and we have found more and more use for them.

What's worrying me at the moment, is that one thing I can see happening with the potential to build up into something that could cause such change is the events in and around Russia - Georgia, the threat to Poland etc. Anything could happen with that one the way things are atm.

I really really hope this coming change is going to turn out to be something good, I really do. I've no doubt that something huge is looming on the horizon, I've felt it coming for ages and I reckon a lot of folks have.

Ok well i just had a look at that webbased timewave thing,good link btw! And there does seem to be a strange occurence around the beginning of september...LHC...fascinating even if its nonsense...but very interesting!

Brilliant idea to compare the two! .. Well if I'm reading the chart correctly - the stock market rises with the climb into habit and plunges when novelty hits? Gotta love Wall Street - Accountants don't care for novelty - Terrence would have loved that synchronicity, by the way..

It's crazy how close the 2 charts are - especially for having nothing to do with one another. This is great stuff! Only problem is, now the chart just keeps going down....

Just for fun, I did the SAME comparison with the stock market in the run up to the crash around the Great Depression. Have I just found a major stock market indicator??!

The stockmarket issue is very interesting, and I wondered if you have checked on Black Monday to see if there is a similarity?

You might be on to something here, and all evidence is useful, I guess. I think we all know there is something massive coming our way, and it would be reassuring in a weird way to have some kind of idea what...I can't think what else there is to chart that is measurable for comparison. Seismic activity maybe?

you know the more I look at this the more it makes sense that a dow jones report would reflect the timewave somewhat because when you think about it - the stock market often seems to respond to "events" in the world - social. political, and other cultural forces all play into financial decisions on a large scale...

so a prediction might be then that we could see a significant dip in the dow towards the end of September /October perhaps?

At approximately 3:45pm Alaska Standard Time I felt a very bizarre wave of imbalance. A co-worker even said she felt woozy without me mentioning my own "feeling of disconnected-ness" to her.

Now, I hate to stray from the tangible and empirical -- but as the spiral begins to tighten, perhaps we as individuals can "sense" when great numbers of people are in strain/peril/pain. This would only fit in with the idea of Novelty, that inter-connected-ness increases as time (linear in this aspect) progresses.

The drum is very tight right now -- even family and friends of mine who have written me off as a nutcase are echoing the same words I uttered 5 years ago...it's really throwing me for a loop.

I still honestly hope I'm totally wrong about Sept. 08... Obviously according to the TimeWave things will continue -- but a horrible, unexpected even is nothing I *wish* to see happen.

I would love nothing more than to come on here on Sept 14th and say: "I was totally wrong, I admit it -- blast me all you want. I stand corrected. I am now off to re-evaluate my outlook on events/time and life."

It's HARD not to get esoteric here, in this thread. Lately the world has become insane to more than just myself. Dreams for some are predicting events, people are experiencing unparalleled "coincidences" (aka thinking of something and it happens)...

I see a pattern here -- and I hate to stray from the logical, empirical, and scientific -- but how can we quantify these first-hand reports from so many on such a vast and diverse population?
