Ok dan you wanna get scientific about thing frogs have nostrils therefor an anatomical voice box. DOES A FISH SQUEEK? any gilled creature can not produce a verbal sound! 100% SCIENTIFIC FACT. The only possible way any gilled creature can make a sound is an pressurized air build up in the lungs created an echo the output like farting!

In a VERY violent confrontation you can be mortally wounded and not be aware of your wounds - in humans when they are attacked this way, the brain releases a flood of endorphins that eliminate any pain - the body goes into shock and in this state (if your limbs are intact) you may get up, walk around, at least until the shock wears off or loss of blood overtakes you...This is a medical fact which I know from unfortunate personal experience...this creature may have had a similar reaction - life is extremely tenacious...

I suppose the electrical effect had to do with its death. When it expired a charge was released. The lack of body might have to do with the almost timely arrival of fellow creatures which caused the sleep in the humans and the removal of the body.

Yes I suspect you may be onto something here...also my impression is that this may not be the first time that Dan's family had been visited...and that the visitors simply got careless this time...

Maybe it needed to transport (for lack of a better word) out of there but could not do it when Dan was on top of it sharing the good news. When Dan went for the axe it transported? It may have died on the other side... but was not allowed to take Dan with? I do not believe the electric shock was a defensive measure but a result of the move through space.

Maybe this was a test of somekind. A test given by some secretive dark agency or force for membership or to measure human responce to invasion. Imagine a group of special forces capable of interdimensional travel working with technology only dreamt of in science fiction. Criteria for membership..killing or mortally wounding android.

I apologize ahead of time if this has been brought up before. I have read through a good portion of this thread; however, I simply did not have the time to read through every single page before posting this comment, so I regret to say that I do not know if this was answered already or not.

These events certainly are interesting and I have definitely tried to keep an open mind to them while reading this, but I cannot help but think about an issue that was brought up earlier in the thread: the mispelling of the word "originally" as "origionally." The OP's wife stated at some point (I apologize for not having a quote here) that she corrected her husband's papers for a university or something of the sort, but if this is the case, then why would she make such a mistake if she has truly had experience as an editor of some kind? Also, why does the OP also spell it in the exact same way? Am I just reading too much into things?

(I think I also read that the editing thing also apparently accounted for the space in between ? marks in sentences of both posters. I really want to say that this is odd as well, but honestly I can understand it, as I myself have picked up certain sentence habits from friends after reading/correcting their papers or chatting with them online for a long enough period of time.)

Apologies once again if this was already answered, and if I got any facts wrong here do not hesitate to correct me. I will continue to keep an open mind as I read through this thread and I do hope that I have not offended the anyone with my question. Thank you (whoever replies) in advance for the answer!

ahh so you know him personally, been to his house , met his wife and kid, know his history?? so please enlighten us then....

ATS has a section called RATS, meaning Really Above Top Secret. This thread could be a type of TEST. Dan Tanna is in RATS. I believe there is enough evidence provided by a few people, for example: when asked the same question from different people, you get a different answer. Please it's time to put this thread to rest.

Dan Tanna: Is there any possibility, however slight, that you have a sleep disorder such as narcolepsy? The incident you described sounds somewhat like a hypnagogic revery or a hypnopompic hallucination (if memory serves, the former occur right when people are drifting off to "sleep," while the latter occur right before they wake up). I say "sleep" in quotes because technically these people are in some different stage and not normal, restorative sleep. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, although I've only read the first 20 to 25 pages of the thread, so if this has already been discussed, I apologize.

My mother had narcolepsy for most of her adult life, and vivid hallucinations about intruders in the bedroom are a hallmark of the syndrome. Some of these were really bizarre, and almost always terrifying. Some would occur even though her eyes would be half open. They sometimes involved aliens performing medical exams, usually with futuristic medical instruments that looked as if they were made of stainless steel. Sleep paralysis would usually occur also, though often she was able to speak but in a barely discernible voice. She termed these entities as "visitors," which is a rather benign description considering their general behavior. These incidents seemed to follow no pattern (that we could see), and she could go for days or weeks with no occurrence and then have them back to back each night of the week. They were neither dreams or nightmares.

This might also explain the undisturbed state of your house the next morning.

Of course, the glaring flaw in this theory is that your wife was also affected. It would be very unusual (though not impossible) for both spouses to be suffering from a sleep disorder and experience the same hallucinatory elements.

I know this is offtopic but, how the heck do you get into RATS? is it some sorta invite only or something? What is its purpose.
With that said, I'd like to say even if this were a hoax, it still makes for a good read and is original, not only that but, it obviously has people talking about something other than the usual "politics" that we usually beat each other over the head about, now we have something new to beat each other over the head about lol.

I've thouroghly enjoyed this thread, at least as much as I have been able to read.

Infact yes sorry cant name his wife or child as they dont exist yet sorry! And you know as well as i do, I would risk my membership on here if i was to reveal his name, address, telephone number etc. but he has brown hair is 5' 7" weighs about 9 and 1/2 - 10 stone.

History wise difficult because he's always been a little bit of an exentric guy a nice guy by all means. at school little bit of an outcast liked to think he was popular by trying to hang out with the popular kids but i was one of his few friends.

I just read Dan's account and for what it is worth, I feel it is believable. I have had my own share of strange events these past few years and so I know that nothing is what it seems.

For Dan, I would like to point you to Robert Temple's book "The Sirius Mystery". In it he discusses the Oannes. Wikipedia explains:

Oannes was the name given by the Babylonian writer Berossus in the 3rd century BC to a mythical being who taught mankind wisdom.

Though you felt that he meant your wife or child harm, I suspect that your wife's instincts were possible more on the money. She felt at ease even when seeing the creature. I suspect that this creature meant no harm but may have been merely curious.

It also tried to get away rather than hurt you until it apparently had no choice but to shock you. I think it could have done so sooner but was trying to avoid that.

Of course on this point I could be wrong about this creature's intent, but I am certain that there are some beings watching events unfold right now that would rather die than harm another being. Realize that the planet is dying and these truly are the fabled "end times" and during this time we will all be witness to incredible events.

The fact that you say you wanted to go to sleep afterwards only makes your story more believable to me. These type of events are, in some ways, spiritual in nature. I suspect that you were gently guided to sleep, almost like a hypnotic suggestion - whereby you feel it is your own desire and thought, when it was planted there.

Dude, you're so right. I cannot even express how sickening this place has become. The fact that moderators have let this go on for 48 pages is clearly a sign that this place is a joke.

It's people like the OP and those who defend his idiotic story that makes this site pointless to take seriously.

By keeping such garbage going for so long, ruins the credibility of the site and ultimately looses any real value it has.

Because it's Dan's imaginary concept that one who's married would call each other like that. He thinks that by subliminally saying Husband continuously people would fall for it. But it's too obvious that it's all a damn lie.

Because he's got no idea what it means to have a child and how you'd react. Better yet, how the CHILD would react if a parent would be suffering from such an incident.

But Dan never mentions this, he's just making things up from what he's seen on TV. But his experience is lacking in understanding how sensitive a child is and how quickly they can pick up on a parent's distress.

I guess this isn't an issue in Dan's reality...
