Well....based on your car mechanic reference, we should elect 'Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers' as president!!

Just in case you've never heard of them, they are Tom and Ray Magliozzi, they are actual car mechanics who live in the Boston, MA area and do a radio show called 'Car Talk'. If you haven't heard of them, then you're missing out on a very fun hour of radio!!!!

Remember, their Law Firm is "Dewey, Cheatum and Howe".....that's just the tip of their comedic iceberg!!!!

I won't be voting FOR any candidate this election cycle. I will be voting AGAINST Barack Obama though.

I lived through the Carter years and I don't want to ever experience something like that again. Obama is just a weaker and more arrogant version of Jimmy Carter.

I hate to think bad about anyone, but, I'm honestly starting to think our only hope is if McCain picks a decent Vice President and then goes to his eternal reward early in his first term. That's a horrible way to have to hope for a decent leader of your country.

How did it come down to two such lousy choices? God save us all.

so what your saying is.....

you would trust your kids lifes in a car repaired by the first black man you found with very little experience ... so people wouldn't think your rasict

instead of the best car fixer's in the world.
that happen to be white

it makes perfect sense ...

id rather have the best candidate period with EXPERIENCE...
Not fancy one liner's about hope..Hope wont fix America good politics will.

and obama is a pup basically to politics's
mcain is a seasoned veteran of politics......

so i go with the best man for the job....and don't care if it offends anyone that i am not voting for the black man this time..

if obama had more experience than mcain id vote obama....BUT HE DON'T!!!

All you're doing is stretching the definition of the word "scared". In this case, those who oppose Obama are afraid of the failed policies he would support. I don't know about you, but I don't want my taxes to go through the roof. I don't want the government beurocrats trying to handle my health care. I don't want my country to be more vulnerable to terrorists. I don't want American oil companies to be prevented from drilling and obtaining the natural resources we all need. I don't want Big Government running rampant and providing entitlements en masse to every lazy, useless member of society. I don't want our borders to be overrun by uneducated, unskilled illegal immigrants, violent criminals and even terrorists.

I don't think anyone (besides the Jesus freaks and nutjobs who think he's the "anti-Christ) is afraid of the man, but electing Obama would definitely be disastrous for Americans - especially since the Democrats will control Congress for at least the first two years of the next presidents' term and they'll be able to rush through any whacko legislation they can think of.

I know McCain doesn't offer us much better, and even if he picks a decent running mate I'll probably refuse to vote for him since I live in Oregon and he's got about as much of a chance here as a 10-month drought. But at least John McCain isn't a completely inexperienced, overhyped, terrorist-befriending, unsubstantive rookie who is out of his league, probably a puppet and definitely a threat to national security.

The only reason to vote for Obama would be to let him and his fellow far-left socialists cause such a disastrous four years that Americans wake up and boot all those nuts out of office and elect leaders with some common sense who believe in the United States Constitution. If you vote for him for any other reason, you're either delusional, irresponsible, idealistic, anti-American, racist or just plain stupid.

"The condescending, bullying tone isn't helping your candidate. ....My mother always told me, "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." Many Obama supporters would help their candidate greatly if they would heed that age-old advice. Then again, I believe the damage is already done. "

Are you kidding me? Have you seen the fevered insanity of smears that those opposed to Obama have come up with? There will be race riots, he's closet muslim/terrorist, the next hitler, a puppet of the new world order etc, etc. He bumped fists with his wife and a fox reporter questioned whether it was a terrorist greeting!! You want to take the poster to task for his "tone" in responding to the fear mongering??? This actually gave me the giggles. Honey rather than vinegar? ...WOW....Kettle black

I can only respond with one line....

HUH???????

Please try to make sense, next time you post.

Thank you.

EDIT to add....I like the commercial, with the new Mother, and her infant baby....where she looks into the camera, and asks Sen. McCain about his claim of being in Iraq for one hundred years. This mother's question is to the point. Would YOU, Sen. McCain, include my infant boy?????

This hits right to the heart of the problem....it is a bunch of BS, this whole Iraq crap.....and McInsane is just following down the same rabbit hole.

He is an idiot. He keeps changing his stance, whichever way the political wind may blow.......

Hi wupy!

I think there are some similarities between the two. No doubt about it. But they are NOT the same person and they are 30 years apart in history. I certainly don't want to convince you of anything, but I would like to explore this Carter/Obama thing a little more.

One thing I do believe is that thy are both "Good Men". I think Jimmy Carter was a pretty Bad President, and some of his decisions and policies are still screwing with us.

A lot of what might come out of an Obama presidency will depend on a lot of things. But I don't think that because he has SOME similarities with Carter that it necessarily follows that his presidency will be a disaster. After all, Bush's presidency has been a complete clusterfork and he's nothing like Jimmy Carter. If McCain wins this election, you can bet things will only go further along the course that they have been over the past 8 years. We may not be able to find our way out.

I have already discussed the faulted logic of the "Bilderberger connection" on that thread, it's a game of Kevin Bacon with politicians, as well as posted a thread about "Lord Rothchild" the lead Bilderberger in Europe holding a fundraiser and DIRECTLY AND PUBLICLY backing John McCain. So the "Bilderberger" thing holds no water. All of that is premised on the Bilderberger being a sinister group of course which is another story.

CFR? Is Obama a fellow of the Council on Foriegn Relations? Or just something like one of his advisors...because these guys advise virtually everyone in DC. It's what they do as best I can tell. They are foriegn policy academics. Is this another group that you are proposing runs the world?

If Obama scares white folks and he's not even president... just think how much McCain and all the racist white presidents have scared people of color in this country??

Your post sounds like an illegal homesteader on Indian land, circa 1850... Your "paranoia parade" on Obama is a bit premature my friend.

Hi Sis,

We still have a way to go before the election so who knows, McCain may just prove to be worse than Obama. Either way it goes I'll be holding my nose when I vote in November.

I will be voting, I always do. That doesn't mean I have to like it though

First off, Obama does not scare me. In fact the complete reverse of that is true. He is a skinny lib wimp from a state that even passes Commiefornia on stripping people of rights. He is a lib coward. He is like Kerry and Gore wrapped in one complete gutless brown package. No way he wins. After that we get 4 years of you left wing nuts crying about how America is racist and if he was white he would have won.....Which is prob true

Mindlessly eh? Try again ...

Afraid to put my quote in context?

I love those that mindlessly repeat Karl Rove's catch phrase.

That was a reply to your:

Quit drinkiing the kool-aide.

Your Kool-aide comment is the epitemy of the mindless dribble repeated by Republicans. If Karl Rove didn't ceate it, then Rush or Hannity did. Either way it's garbage.

In reference to my questions:

ALL off topic. Try starting another thread about those.
This is about people being scared of Obama.

Valid questions to find out what your positions on key issues are. Your signature, unlike just about everyone else's, includes links to negative Obama threads. Your lack of response to my questions confirms to me it's not about the facts of Obama but, rather your positions. That you wish to conceal those positions says alot about you.

By your lack of understanding about how to post on this site, your inability to stay on topic, and your severe lack of understanding of the law in regards to Obama breaking it with that faux-seal of his, you have shown that you aren't capable of determining if my judgement is sound or not.

  1. I seem to be doing alright on posting so far.
  2. How small a box do you want to keep me in? I respond to people, this is a conversation. Sometimes the conversation takes twists and turns
  3. I haven't heard of any charges pressed by the Attorney General. Why not?
  4. You're right, I may not be capable of determining if your judgement is sound. Answer the questions and let everyone on ATS decide.

Some seals ARE illegal, junior.
Ever heard of these laws?

I would have let you slide but, you called me junior.
First of all, your link doesn't work. You missed the "H" in http when you copied the link. Second, if you read your own link without bias, you would have realized that the law states:

Whoever knowingly displays any printed or other likeness of the great seal of the United States, or of the seals of the President or the Vice President of the United States....

shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

"Likeness" refers to replicating/duplicating the seal and using it in an unauthorized manner. If you new anything about the law you would have immediately realized Obama's seal is different than the seal of the President and not it's legal "Likeness".

Who's junior now?

Want to debate? Quote me in context and don't try to intentionally decieve people with amatuer lies. Your own link dispproves your claim about Obama's seal. Thats funny!

If anyone here as been reading my previous posts, what I'm about to say might surprise them.

I'm not going to go after you at all. Why, because your open. You don't like him because all the liberal cr*p. I don't like the liberal garbage either. I used to be Republican and I'm still what people would consider conservative. Thing is, Bush and a Republican congress have done alot of unconservative things. They've taken more of our rights away in the last 7+ years then Democrats have in the last 30 years. To me, they have to pay the price for that.

My "Hope" is that Obama's newness means less "favors" he owes and that since the majority of his support came from the grass roots, he will be more beholden to the people. His supporters are extremely active and if he upsets them, they will be active in showing their displeasure.

That's my naive "Hope".

To bring it back to the original subject:

The statement "Barack Obama Scares Me" is pure propaganda. The vast majority of people who say that are not unbiased, undecided, concerned people. They are the hardcore right pushing another catch phrase.

This phrase and the the insincere that say it must be attacked and ridiculed. The problem with Liberals is that, it's true, they can't fight. They're too "intellectual" to take the gloves off and fight. I'm here to tell you, sometimes you have to fight.

Now is one of those times.

If Obama scares you, you probably have enough intelligence and life experience to know a potential catastrophe when you see one.

You've probably been around long enough to know the difference between flash and substance.

You've probably also seen enough used car salesmen to know a superficial huckster when you see one.

You've probably been around the block enough times to know a racist when you see one.
